I blind bought Encre Noire and got it yesterday. It's not as bad as I had thought it would be, but it's definitely not for everyone. It has a smoky, almost leathery quality to it. Very heavy on vetiver and woods, but has a creamy muskiness in the late drydown. Not for everyone, but for the price, it's one of the best fragrances ever. Really masterfully made, insanely good quality, even the presentation is crazy good. It's not a very appealing scent but if you like vetiver and wood heavy scents, it's the perfect cheapie.

Joop! was a classic when I was in High School in the 90's!

Encre noire is one of my all time fav scents for being so cheap and classy. It smells like a damp forest and that's what I'm really into. One fragrance that I never seem to enjoy is Santal 33. It never blends well with my skin but I once smelled it on someone and it smelled fantastic on them. I, however, absolutely cannot stand the scent of it on me for the entire day.

I blind bought Lalique Encre Noir last week and I totally agree with you. Love the idea but it’s not quite my thing. Thank god it was cheap

Great video! Quite enjoyed watching it.. the only perfume I haven’t really enjoyed too much, that’s grown on me is TF Noir… it was a Christmas gift from my sister, wasn’t too keen on it at first, but I’ve come to appreciate it. Maybe another one is F by Ferragamo… blind bought it; never wear it.

I blind bought Encre Noir and I enjoyed it from the beginning. It became my rainy day scent 😅 I wore it not too long ago and I was under the impression that it was too dry, but when I wore it I got hit with the musk and it comes across so beautiful! I get how it's not for everyone, though. Really nice video, Rebel!

In my own opinion i think alot of people associate Joop with the early 2000's. it used to be the Dior Sauvage of the early 2000's its not a bad scent but it used to be very very strong... i havent had a bottle for years. may need to try again.

Nice content ! I really do not like Joop (it smells like a cough syrop) . Smelled black aoud but also do not like neither Intense cafe , nor red vetyver. However i think that honey aoud is very nice! Polo green is ok but does not last at all. I like smelling encre noire, but i like the extreme version more.

Can't agree with you on the Polo Cologne Intense. That's one of my favorite fresh/summer scents. Love it!

Hey Rebel! This is a great topic! I have a similar oud fragrance to the Montale one you describe: Lattafa Eternal Oud 🤢 (same oud+Rose combination) just gross and it stains the clothes too! Other notes I don’t enjoy: excessive grassy notes, smoky notes (Burberry london 🤢) and caramel bombs . I appreciate more balanced fragrances. Cheers from Canada! 🇨🇦

I agree on Joop I think I bought it blind just for the colour of the juice, others for me are Polo Green far too heavy for me and so far every Jean Paul Gaultier scent I've tried has given me a headache, I kept persisting with them because they get well reviewed and when smelled on others I love their scents but on me they smell bad and give me terrible headaches

I definitely agree on most of these!! Such a shame you didn't pick up the original Lattafa Najdia, its an amazing scent for the money and highly regarded in the community, its a more woody, masculine take on Invictus and its beast mode, it's in my daily gym rotation!

I am not a fan of Black Oud either but i layered it with Intense Cafe and it turned out to be a nice scent layered together.

Mugler A*Men, the OG. Kept it by my side for (too) many years. I give it a try every winter, but we just don't get along. 😂

Joop Homme the original edt was my first every fragrance, whilst I still like the smell of it my taste has progressed since then

Oooh, I love all sorts of smoky, dirty, earthy vetivers, so Encre Noire is mouthwatering. And surprisingly one of my bigger compliment-getters (both Noire, and Extreme). As far as the ones I can't stand go, I'd say my biggest anathemas are Y line from YSL, and Dior Sauvage line (excluding Elixir). I don't know if it's the way they use clary sage or ambroxan, but they just have something in them that rubs me the wrong way. I remember how I recoiled way back when I got the sample for Y edp.

I like Terre D'Hermes and Cuir Vetiver (Yves Rocher) a lot. I tried Encre Noire the other day and I liked it too. Anyone who enjoys vetiver would like Encre Noire in my opinion.

Agree with Encre Noir, tried to like it, just can't. Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP is a fragrance I blind bought off hype, I've tried it on 3 different occasions hoping to like it, just too musky for me. I fixed the problem, bought Bleu de Chanel EDP

Black oud is great when worn correctly

The most horrible fragrance I blind bought was Versace L'homme from the 80s. Oh man, its smells like urine, a grandpa before dying and really outdated. I would like to see your reaction to that fragrance haha

Question, when you spray your fragrances. Do you wipe the leftover juice off the sprayer area on the atomizer before putting the cap back on? Or do you just leave it there and let it stay wet?

Tbh the ralph lauren green isnt bad, definitely not for me, since im younger, i see it more or so as a 40-50 year mans fragrance, not bad, just not for me

Joop Homme is ok for some times like tea with friends or coffee with your mother or somethink like that but is not for every day taken

Hey Mr Rebel, I have a decent selection of fragrances. Out of all of them my wife likes Joop Homme the best. I used to wear Joop Homme in the early 90’s and for me it’s had its day. I still get requests from my wife to put on Joop Homme. I do it under duress lol 😂.

Yeah, Nishane has some great gems but some like Afrika-Olifant, Unutamam and Karagoz (spelling?) are very niche and not for the faint of heart. I kind of like Afrika-Olifant at times though... probably from hanging around Zoologist fragrances so much, haha. Montale for me is my eternal antagonist. I have tried many and I can't for the life of me find one I like. I always get that awful, synthetic hair spray vibe. I still have PTSD from last year's Day Dreams from Montale. 🤢

I sampled Black Aoud from Montale and found it very interesting and yes, enjoyable but my wife said she thought I smelled like death so I’ve never purchased a bottle.

Joop home was the one of first full bottles of cologne of mine back in a day in 2000's, and, to be honest l loved it :D 10 years ago my friend was wearing it as a signature l believe, and l still liked it on him (not gay) and l think that people nowadays still feel some sentiments to this scent not because of its awesomeness or perfume dna but just because of the memories it brings back :) l like Najdia OG, l like it a lot :) Encre Noir is an outstanding fregrace, but, it has a problem,-l cant find an ocasion to wear it :D it is to strong to wear it at home for myself, it is not that pleasant for others around when l wear it, it is that kind of cologne that l just cant find when to put it on :D have more colognes like that, Sege Lutens, BeauFort London some Montales, Orto Parisi, man, it is hard to find a time, ocasion and a place to wear those. sad.

my biggest regret blind buys are Ferragamo Uomo Signature and Jaipur Homme. Uomo smelled like a dead animal and Jaipur Homme reminded me of elderly women

I usually find something to enjoy with most fragrances but I also strongly dislike Joop! Also, I agree on Encre Noire which I blind bought and regretted it. Smells like damp wood, dirt and death. However, I do like Lalique's other fragrances such as Equus and Hommage à L'Homme, which are more fresh and green smelling. Another over hyped fragrance I had to toss out was Mancera Red Tobacco. Smelled like a dirty ash tray and cherry cough syrup. Was disgusting. But to each his own!

Tiziana Terenzi Gold Rose Oudh smells incredible and very rich. It is unisex but smells best on my wife. Very rose forward and very sexy. Reminds me of Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady / Atelier des Ors Rose Omeyade.

Armaf Craze, Bentley For Men Intense, and CH Bad Boy Parfum were ones that grossed me out. 🤮:) The first two were blind buys. The last was just from sampling in stores a couple of times. :)

The fragrance I regret buying the most is Dior Homme Intense. I really don't enjoy the prominent lipsticky, iris note.

I remember smelling Joop Homme for the first time. I was at a store and sprayed it on my wrist, I laughed so hard because how gross it smelled. I never thought I'd ever be as eager to wash off a fragrance except for this one.

Worst blind buy for me was 1 Million Absolutely, smelt like a care home. The intense wasn't much better either.

Joop lovers unite! I see alot of dislike online but I've never met a single person who doesn't love it. It was a staple over here in germany and I still really love wearing it 😊

I have a relative modest collection of about 80 bottles and I blind bought a lot of them as I did with Encre Noir which was hyped to death online. I found it for about 25$ which was really nice. To this day it's the only perfume I threw in the trash after a week of trying it. It smells pretty good, don't get me wrong, but it was SOOOOOOO weak, not even a skin scent, I literally had to bury my nose in my skin to even notice it. It didnt mascerate in that week, a lot of fragrances that were weaker at the begining got a lot better after using them a bit, not Encre Noir. I thought about gifting it but it is also not a scent that is appreciated by people in general so I basically threw the bottle in the trash and I don't rgret it. Also Joop! Homme is an awful fragrance, I don't know who in the right mind would wear that, it's like spraying cough syrup on yourself, it's sickening.

Decided to try aqua di Parma. Got Colonia club and I never enjoyed it for one second, so boring and bitter green. A girl said it smelt like baby powder. At least it’s weak so you can’t smell how bad it is. Smells like an old man

none of Michel Almairac's creation is my favorite and Joop Homme is one of them

Thanks God, I didn't blind buy Davidoff Cool Water and Nautica Voyage - everyone sings them praises, like they are fresh, doesn't smell dated, have longevity, etc. But when I smelled them - oh no, I'm not buying this crap. The smell is so trivial and dated, there's a ton of deodorants that smell like them.

Got black aoud and loved it at first. Oud and rose, what is there not to like? But then after a week or two of wear I started to realise it wouldn’t come out of clothing. When being washed, it made my clothing smell TERRIBLE and made the perfume smell ever stronger. Had to throw away 3 sweaters because of this f#%king scent.
