The move is done by pressing the grab button while airborne on any character with some kind of chain or whip based grab (samus, zss, the links, etc) and is typically called “Zair” for Z + aerial, since on a GameCube controller the grab button was Z. It’s usually kind of a utility move, with not a ton of damage or knock back. What the Lucas is doing here specifically I can’t say - looks like some kind of technique to cancel the vertical momentum of his jump so that he can be slightly airborne to get the zair out but still close enough to the ground to land quickly and combo into it again. Not sure if that is a property of Lucas’ Zair inherently, or if there’s a tech to master for the cancel, but it’s gotta be some sort of repeated jump plus grab button based combo. Hope that helps

that move is called "double jump cancel zair" and it isn't easy to pull off but if you can manage to pull it off 4+ times in a row, Lucas can turn an attempted ledgetrap into a kill

@@Hamarchy Lucas is one of my favorite characters to use and I played a Lucas while I was using Bowser and this combo absolutely destroyed me haha. The fact that there is no chance to escape it makes it that much better
