Bonjour my lovelies, thank you for giving a big thumbs up to this video and don’t forget to share your tip that makes you feel always chic love xxx Frederique 🥰
I have learned from you that clean, classic & neutral is the way to go. That way you wear the clothes & the clothes do not wear you. I have received compliments from my mini Frederique make over. People ask me if I took a vacation or whether I have lost weight; the answer is “No”. I have just switched up my wardrobe. Thank you!
Ha ha! 😁Hello Frederique!🌷 I like this topic. It's very easy to be different here in Sweden if you don't wear black in winter (which is 10 months here😳) and white or beige in summer-you are a superstar! 🙌👸 Same with shoes, if you don't wear sneakers and jeans like everyone else but high heals and skirt-you already different! 💁 That's how easy it is here.😉👍
I love wide leg pants with high rise waist...so so elegant...and big YES to colours, i discovered them after 40 and i'm grateful, they brings so much joy, i feel happy with my favorite colours😊
I totally agree with the statement jewelry. I've been getting bored with the whole delicate gold chains everybody has been wearing for several years. I did that in the 70's and don't want to repeat that one. I love big earrings from Nickel & Suede. Lightweight and easy to wear.
Agree! Being unique is the fun in fashion. Inspire others to dare to wear the regular but with a twist. I have always loved collar neck pieces. I have these beautiful beaded ones from Tibet and africa. On a plain black or neutral outfit they look stunning. Sometimes I just wear it with my t shirt and head out for coffee and it feels great!
Frederique! Your tips are amazing! And by the way I received a job offer, following your interview advice video, thank you for all your help and guidance. Bisous from Cambridge UK
I love pearls! It is my birth stone so I have many lovely pieces and ensembles. I wear Chanel pearls too. Love, love, love all of them. I always feel beautiful when I wear pearls. Wide pant legs are my new addition to my wardrobe! So much fun to be a girl/woman! I can’t wait for your styling course. See you next time! ❤️ Suzy
Bonjour Frederique. We have been made to believe that if you have money, you can look elegant. Love how you show us different, that simplicity is the key to elegance. Love, love, love you.🥰 XOXO
You are spot on with wearing a different color than usual. Makes you feel different and people will definitely notice the change too!! Please consider doing a video in French with subtitles! Your accent is beautiful and to hear you speak in your native tongue would be great! Thanks and love your channel! ❤️
I’m addictive to your channel. I love everything that you do . You are different than any other You tubers. You are beautiful inside and out.Since I found your channel you are the Best!
Loved your video, as always. I agree with wearing a new colour - this autumn here in the UK, there are many different shades of green in the stores. I always stick to khaki green, but I picked up a mint green jumper. I tried it on a home (as some stores still do not let you try clothes on due to COVID)and the first thing my teenage son said when I put it on was " look at your eyes". My eyes are blue/grey. My husband looked away from the television, his reply was "why don`t you wear that colour, it suits you". Two of the four men in my life (I have two older sons) for the first time in a LONG time, commenting on something that I wear! The colour really made my eyes shine (or is it 'pop'?) Keep up the great work!
Hahahahaha....I'm from India..which is vibrant with colour, prints and completely opposite of French style. The beauty of the lessons learned here is....I can add it to my repertoire of looks/moods. One day I feel like dressing Boho go for it, tomorrow I feel traditional, then I feel like French chic or ott Italian Opulent 🤣 never ever american though...😉 Fashion is all about discovering what makes YOU feel comfortable, tweaking a few things, (rule of 3 colours is a superb tip from Frederique), investing in GOOD quality products and mixing and matching your wardrobe well. Think out of the box and have fun!! Much love xxx
I am on a very limited budget but ppl don't know it. All these wonderful suggestions are so helpful to look classy. I buy from gently used, also. I know this isn't for everybody but I'm ok w it.
Hi, you're right, it's just amazing how many combinations one can get out of bottoms and tops and because I wear lots of dresses too, I combine tops with dresses as well. Eg lace top under spaghetti strap dress. It so much fun and seemingly unending. By the way I'm a minimalist too which leaves even more room for creativity.
I play dress up most days. When i find a top and bottom that really works together...before i go out I spend 10 minutes trying other jackets..shoes...scarves bag etc..with what i have on ..its amazing how many options i have. If i get the base outfit right i can make many more outits that look good. You have taught me to do this.Thanks...
Hi, Frederique, That beautiful purple, silk/satin blouse you are talking about is in you color pallette. You are a Winter, so you look good in cool neutral colors. But also, you can wear cool tones in other colors. I would describe your blouse as close to a Sapphire blue, and the shine emphasizes your shimmery quality. My mother was a Winter. She had very dark brunette hair, and white skin with freckles (Irish). She looked absolutely stunning in black. It made her skin glow. When she turned a gorgeous silvery grey, she started to wear her icy colors. She looked incredible right to her passing and she felt great. She very rarely wore any earthy tones; they made her skin look sallow. She, myself and my sister had do much fun knowing our colors. I am a warm Spring and everything I have looks good on me. I will add accents in black away from my face, and to give a bit of drama to my look as Springs can be quite smiley and appear quite youthful. I bought a Faconnable little black dress a few years ago but have not had occasion to wear it. Maybe soon, as I will be in Paris. I will wear gold jewelry to balance it a bit. Thanks for your videos. 👍🥰🥰🥰💘💘
Love the purple blouse, sometimes it is good to have a pop of colour which brings out your skin tones etc. Loving the pearls, I have a beautiful set that were my mothers that I recently started wearing and another very different set that someone who stayed with me bought for me as a gift and I now wear them quite a lot and like you say lots of compliments followed so I keep wearing....
Frederique, I would love to see a video focused on hair. I'm 48, looking younger than that I hope.LOL. I still have very long hair but thinking of drastic change. Looking for an elegant hair style. What are your thoughts for hair over 40? Would love to see video on this.
thank you margaret - not sure but i love my bob but start thinking to go short gan lol - I love changing my hair - better to consult with a hair stylist xxx
I have a buzz cut that I pair with statement earrings and bracelet. My outfit has MODEST and classic lines. I adore finding unique pieces at thrift or consignment stores.😊
My statement pieces are my vintage earrings. My pieces are unique and Stylish. Vintage and retro is so me. I mix retro with classic. Especially those wide leg pants. I have the 30’s style. Ooo I love hats. So glad you mentioned them. Prints on the shoes are so cool 😎 I’m going to try the color idea and playing with my wardrobe more. Love this list. 💗
I loved the white jeans tutorial. My favorite was the black short sleeve shirt etc. Very classy. But all the styles were wonderful. Gave me some great ideas. Thank you! - Jean
I like to use brooches pinned to my denim jacket. Also to jazz up a very simply made top. I would love to wear blazers but have always had a difficult time finding one that fits my out of proportion upper body. So I wear sweaters and cardigans instead. It gives a similar look. Loved all of these sweet, sassy Frederique! 😘😘
To be unique, for me personally means wearing simple yet good quality clothes but Statement jewelry that speaks to me. Thanks for sharing your secrets with us 🥰🥰🥰
I love black with a pop of red, or camel with a pop of teal… I’ve been gifted some vintage Hermès scarves from my father in law (they used to belong to my mom in law), I would love to see how you would style those massive silk scarves… so far, I only wear them in my hair or wrapped around my wrist. If there is already a video, I’d love a link.
I fall into the same rut with wearing similar outfits everyday. It's important to step it up a bit. I think I'll play dress up tomorrow. Also, there is a product called "fashion tape" it's a double stick tape that you can use to keep your shirt in place (over your bra). It's such a great product that has saved me many times. I use it for keeping my buttons from gaping and for keeping my bra concealed. This way you won't always be tugging at your clothing. Much love to you Frédérique. Keep inspiring us.
Loose Camel tank w/black wide leg pants..so my style. Royal Purple gem tone is usually not best with my skintone, either. I usually gravitate toward burgundy wine shades. Enjoy your day! 😁
You are so right about wide pant legs and even a hat, if you have good taste in such. LOL. You do a great service by explaining why about everything, like having fun with our clothes.
High rise flares or wide leg pants make your waist seem smaller and your legs longer! Try. It works. Plus high rise jeans/pants are more comfortable, no pulling or adjusting. Mwah.💙
Hi Frederique, I love your tips. I used to follow Trinny but I prefer your fashion style so please could you style hats for example for women who wear glasses. Thank you.
Love you too Fred! Purple is fantastic on you, yes❣️. Never ignore color, I got a compliment about how my icy blue T-shirt really was flattering on me, bought a couple 😂
Hello Frédérique! Look unique was always, since a remember me, my goal. Little details because I like to be discreet, I feel more confident that way, but a little touch, a little detail, I try always wear! Thank you so much!!! Have a great saturday!
I love this video particularly bcos I used to spend time matching my outifits to express myself n discover the right match. Most fun!!! Thanks to your video, I realized I have been working so much I lost that completely...forgot that fav hobby of mine the last few years! Yes, that s me in Singapour..Ill start getting my life back by doing this again!❤
Bon soir Frederique, first of all thanks for the video. For me the message of your video is to step out a little bit more from this casual style. Today people are dressed more or less in the same way. In some aspect boring. Your videos give an idea of what individuallity in fashion means. 🙂👍👍👍🙋♀️
I've got a silver brooch on my denim jacket that is original. I neve take it off and get comments and questions about it regularly. I love the tip regarding wearing a colour that's not trending. I've always enjoyed dressing a little different. Not too much, but enough to be original and show my personality.
I've been the "jeans and t shirt" gal for many many years, but recently I started enjoying very different styles and incorporate in my outfits things that I would never have liked in the past. It's so much fun too! P. S. That flamingo shirt, I love it!
I love silk trousers, but have only been able to find them in black and beige over the years. I’d love to find other basic colors, like navy, khaki or brown, so I have similar variety, and styling possibilities, as I do with my silk skirts.
Totally love you Frederique! Your presence has meant a lot in my life during these pandemic times. Thank you for encouraging to in habit our "Goddess French Chic." Love your Channel necklace and would love to get one just like yours. I am 59 and loving it!
I have added gray to my closet. I can combine with bright colors near my face. Several years ago took gray out of my closet. I adore hats and have a grey one somewhere that I need to find. Thanks.
I always always put elastic band at the end of the leg in wide pants.I mean inside of the tunnel using a safety pin.sometimes also at the waist .that makes totally new fashion,I can show off my ankles and only my jeans don't end up like this. Love to you
I like me a hat now and then . I also love a well cut coat that makes a statement - an easy way to look dressed when you're just running out with jeans and shirt on .
That purple shirt is gorgeous! But then purple has been my favourite colour for decades, since I was a teenager. I get the most compliments on the rare occasions I wear red (have two sweaters and a cardigan) - yet I don't care for red, and I find that when I do wear it, I can tolerate it for about three hours, then need to change into something like navy or deep green.
I like to stand out with my hair. It is very long and I love to do something special with it. And I design my own clothes so I certainly give each piece a little special detail. And think just small different accents make you look special!
Fun fun fun video. Yes, wear colors and wear unique clothes. Love your advice. I totally agree and am so inspired to mix it up. Thank you. You are such a lovely woman to watch. Hugs to you. ❤❤❤
The hat looks fantastic on you. My tip is that hats look better placed forward on your forehead, exactly the way you are wearing it. Don’t tip the brim up away from your face.
