hey man! I've played with you at kennedy a couple times. great vid!! I've always struggled with my explosiveness and this helps a lot. keep up the great tips :)
I'm a 30 yr old dude who loves playing pick up bball with the younger guys. thanks for the lessons. helps alot. the guys I play with have previous experience playing in different levels I'm school while I just learned from watching NBA and RU-vid.
Very good break down on the moves it was really useful. However would be better if you could improve on the following: 1.Use a tripod for the camera its shaking too much distracting the viewer. 2.demonstrate the move from different point of view. 3.The focus of the camera at times wasn't adjusted properly. 4.You are breathless towards the end of the video regardless still liked and subscribed
I did a perfect separation move with my wife and now I'm single. Just kidding. I always do this move since I was 10 and now I'm 26 and can do it even better. I can also use my left hand effectively (I'm right handed) but I always take off with my left foot. Watching people jump with their right foot when doing left handed lay up makes me think that I'm doing it wrong.
this was very helpful I'm 11 and I'm 5 foot 4 and on a division 1 AAU team and I needed some help on my skill moves and dribbles. This is my first year on a division 1 team and the competition is VERY competitive and I want to show my coach I should play like 25 minutes in the game as the point guard.
I was missing the biggest factor: Spreading my legs Win I do in n outs, I would take a step diagonally and bend my body, not really my legs, this makes sense and helps.
U deserve more than a 1000 likes. Your the best coach ever. Your explanation is so simple and not complicated like "I love basketball TV".... Thanks. Cheers for the best coach ever..:-)
Augie in fall if 2014 I got ur secret weapon workout. recently my friend got the secret weapon workout but the drills from his copy are different. did you change it or something? there's nothing wrong with it i am just wondering if you changed it
I rarely comment, but I'd like to say that I agree that the between the legs is one of the most effective moves for blowing by defenders. I use the intial variation of the move alot. Also this video was very informative. It's nice to be reminded of some familiar variations and learn some new ones as well. I'll definitely be trying them out. Keep up the good work!
Very good breakdown. Really liked the explanation about what to use in half and full court situations. A breakdown of the in and out like this would be great
How is 5:45 not a travel? I'm still new to basketball I'm sorry. And also is doing a hop on your left foot and also landing on your left foot(kind of like a hesitation move) to attempt to blow by your defender, a travel?
the first time he did it it was a travel because he had to do it slowly for a demonstration when he does it quickly his hand is above the ball so they wouldn't call it in Europe
hey man jus wanted to say I've watched your videos fir a while and I used to barely go 1 for 10 at the 3 pt but with your tips and your secret workout I shoot 7 for 10 and I was also wondering if you had another helpful workout I could use thx u 🏀
this is actually one of the better video i have seen, actually worth the time. Such basic/fundamental, you can pretty much do so much after that quick cross. You have my like, Sir.
This video was very good and he breaks it down very well. I am a coach and will be using some of these drills to help Improve my players. Keep up the good videos!
Hey Augie. I have a problem with my basketball skills. Usually when i have the ball and someone is guarding me. Usually it's hard for me to get past them and they can play hard defense on me and steal the ball easily. I try using good crossovers, but they can still guard me easily. I believe they are strong enough to body me or I'm not strong enough to body them off. So, I usually try getting open and shots when no one is guarding me. When someone is guarding me, i usually pass or call for a screen. I need to improve on that
@gboy7 warriors... Building your strength will improve your ball security, but there are other techniques that will also help. Work on creating space with your dribble and attacking your defender with quick and simple dribble moves like in and out or basic crossover. Be sure to stay low and drive hard. Once you get by a couple times for an easy layup they will give you more space to work with.
I'm hard to guard cis I surprise them with a hero step or even a floater I'm bad shooter but great a lay ups so I use floaters to put the ball in the hoop or I use a nice that protects the ball but but it in the hoop eg. hook shot or a fade away to get past defenders I turn the ball into a bait then when they reach out I grap it and blow by while they been cought off guard but if u have a quick release then your cross over is the best weapon u have
