I always thought of it as a racially thing: I saw it, speaking from a minority male, that being educated and well spoken not only got me rejected but feared! I found myself getting more in trouble with law as a nice guy than when I started carrying myself more badass and dressing more edgy. I find myself less in need of having to walk around with weapons now than before. But now, because I've lacked so much experience with women, I still feel lost in the world of dating but I'm getting better at it as time goes on! Mediating, seeking therapy, connecting with nature, building my body!

I always say nice/polite is a prerequisite. You don't get points for nice, but you get points deducted if you're rude/crude/impolite. Kindness never goes out of style and it goes hand-in-hand with compassion, and emotional intelligence. But you gotta have a slight "edge" too.

For those who don’t know, the original & actual, real definition of the work “nice” means fool. I remember being a “nice guy” to the ladies in my college days. It never worked. Now that I’m older and see the world clearly and a bit different with experience, it’s a different ball game. My relationship with the Most High comes first, my priories and goals thereafter. Now, those same women that played me back then are all up in my DMs today….and even new women too, but I keep a cool and calm head & remain strong and principled.

You're absolutely right I used to be a nice guy especially when it came to beautiful women they are the ones that will make you be nice in the beginning so after dating beautiful Latino women mainly I learned to be just kind to women not nice anymore and sometimes I will even just ignore them I won't even answer that text messages but being kind is the answer kind and confident but never nice not anymore thank you for this good advice

You are right The Style O.G. I'm a real "nice" guy. I'm also SEETHING WITH INTERNAL RAGE AND LOW SELF ESTEEM because of being a push over. I often find myself throwing things around at home...getting angry easily at home. But around people and women I'm a big sucker...ahem a big "Nice" guy. But when I get home to my privacy...my "nice" mask falls off and my temper flares along with my feelings of inability to stand up for myself and my interests.

Use that anger into a martial art or boxing. release your thoughts on paper or a counselor. personally my outcry goes to God and it works. You have PRIDE issues.. Learn to UNLEARN your old ways and be humble in learning on how to be your own man without being nice. It does take time and experience. RU-vid videos and social media won't save you, you gotta put it into practice. I love to say " hi , good morning" " how are you doing?" to women who are working as a cashier or somewhere public. I don't try to pick up. Muay Thai and Boxing taught me a lot about discipline and not getting pushed over. " Seething with internal rage" will DESTROY you...I say all of this through personal experience. im now a whole lot better and now I get girls wanting to say " hi " to me. Im no Brad Pitt or good looking guy too. Stop wasting time and go better yourself. Hurry! life is too precious for you!

That sounds like the way I am. I'd prefer to take someone's head off for taking me for something I'm actually not. I don't like arguing with people because that's not going to get my point across in the slightest bit. I'd rather just step off because people don't hear me until I'm in a rage. I've always had anger issues since I was a kid. With age, I know that I'd end up sitting in someone's prison for treating people just like they want to be treated.

Nice people try to appear agreeable, it's about how they are viewed by the person they are interested in that dictates their actions. This in turn often comes across as insincere as they are trying to do right by someone not necessarily because they are kind but because they want that someone to like them. Kind people look at themselves and think "what type of person do I want to be?" and express that in every action they take. It's genuine as they are acting out of personal values and are therefore confident in their kindness as they are being true to themselves and that's attractive.

Makes plenty of sense, a lot of women I am nice with always get confused when I want nothing from them, I grew up with a lot of women and I am genuinely concerned about women in general. So if I can help I do so, but I don't desire anything from them, no relationship no favors nothing. I'd rather step off about my way. They wouldn't be smiling about me having zero respect for them after taking me for a fool the first time. I'm a guy that is used to attention and compliments from women because that's been life for me. I'm just very confused about setting boundaries because what some call boundaries isn't getting my point across like a good old fashioned jump out the window. Most of these women haven't really dealt with a Rick James type of dude who refuses to be toyed with, but will walk over them without a pause from the day they open the gate till they tap out.

I know what you're getting at. There is a balance, and you never hear about being nice as a success strategy. But I do think it's easier to be too nice.

It’s about not being a pushover. “Nice Guys” don’t voice their opinion and will agree out of niceness. You should be courteous and polite to people, but if someone was saying something mean or rude to you stand up for yourself. Being a jerk will get people to not like you very quickly, and the people that do like you are also jerks. It’s not really about being nice it’s more about agreeing to everything out of desperation and not having a backbone
