I spent about 2 years researching what there was available for new retro motorcycles beyond just what triumph and royal enfield had to offer. Here are those motorcycles!

Yeah, the Janus Halcyon 450 would really be a favourite. Unfortunately they aren't matching euro 4 or 5 standards so they won't be available where I live. But I've got a Royal Enfield classic 500 and a Ural classic retro - so that should do for the moment :-)

I remember when I was around 14, I saw an Agusta very similar to the new one in first place. It of course was back in 1974. And even though I was young and not into bikes like I am now, it still left a long lasting impression as it was unlike anything else on the road at that time.

I hadn't heard of Falcon, but I know of all the others. Some that you might have added to this list included Mash motorcycles from France almost all of whose range is retro-styled. Then there's the reborn Benelli Imperiale, the Genuine 400C , the UM Renegade, and many, many others including a bunch of retro custom-styled 125 vee-twins and vertical twins from China and sold in most of the world. One point about CCW and Mash, they both sell nearly identical bikes which they both claim to have designed, but whether they are badged as Mash or Cleveland Cycle Werks, most of them are built in China by Shineray.
@PRH123
@PRH123 2 года назад
Sounds similar to what bicycle makers have doing in recent years, they don’t actually make anything themselves, but buy bits and pieces here and there in China, if it says made in America, they actually do only the final “screwdriver assembly” here.. the main product being produced is the marketing of some kind of image that you buy, as much as the thing itself…. although they can and do fill market niches that for whatever reason large brands don’t see as interesting…

Still waiting on Honda to come out with a new scrambler CL, with the 2 high pipes on one side. like they had in the late 60's to the mid 70's. I want another new one. I loved that bike. Basically a CB with a few mods, but it made a difference.

Well l never knew A.J.S are making motorcycles and Martise as for the others apart from MV Agusta also here in Sydney there is a company called DUES where they take an existing motor cycle and build a cafe racer or striped back motorcycle but they have to work within N.S.W motor vehicle laws which are very strict you cannot modify the frame in any way unless you get an engineering certificate which costs up to $50000 aus this includes hot rods as long as you don't change the frame you can do anything to the bike within reason

Metisse motorcycles started by 2 brothers, Don and Derek Rickman in New Milton, a small own in the south of England. They had a motorcycle shop and I bought a BSA Shooting Star, 500cc twin from the shop and the salesman was Derek Rickman. Seeing these bikes featured her brings back many memories of the 2 brothers dominating the local scramblers meetings in the 196os. Happy days.

This vid is kind of crazy....In beginning is mentioned Triumph and Royal Enfield (and agree, most know classic bikes) and then full video of small bikes, all build around small China engine... Just from top of my head, you missed "grown up" retro bikes: Kawasaki W800, Kawasaki Z650RS (kind of retro), Benelli Imperiale 400, CFMOTO 700CL-X Heritage (neo retro), Moto Guzzi V7/V9 series, Moto Morini Milano, Brixton announced new 1200 CC retro bike...and yep, Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 is super new retro bike...look, I have nothing against this little bikes 125-200 CC, but in my opinion, they are different category then RE and Triumph....

Small cheap cars, in a country that was grey and foggy and wet won the day. Plus the British bikes by 1970 were actually 1930s bikes with 500cc engines bored out to 650 and 750 stressing them. They were quality machines with superceded motors that broke down so we bought Japanese for reliability, then the 750 4 came along. The Brit bikes of 1970 were retro bikes....of the 1950s.

I love your energy & enthusiasm, but, AJS has absofuckinlutly nothing to do with the OG AJS they just bought the name & made "Stickers" to put on Chinese bikes, just a cash grab on the name, Who wants to pay "Premium" money for a "Bespoke" frame that carries a "Budget" Chinese motor? & MV Auguster are a "Classic" & well renowned name from Italy that brought so very many "Firsts" & "Innovations" that we see in so very many bikes of today. Have you had a look at "Mash" they aren't anything special but they do build a number of very pretty bikes, their 400cc Cafe Racer looks so much better than any I have seen, even from those companies with very deep pockets, CCM is another I'm not sure if they are connected to the OG but are a pretty bike even if their motors are "Huskys", the new BSA looks good, but it's not really a BSA, unfortunately.

AJS, forget it, like the Muttt, Mash, Herald, Cleaveland are cheap Chinese bike that have been tarted up. The quality isnt that good, and they are slow, very slow, the 125s dont even put out the permitted limit in the UK. Get a used Japanese 125 and cafe racer it if you want the look, or buy it direct from Shineray, who make all these bikes anyway.

BART the best bike you can owned, is a bike that you can start and ride. Honda are always a bike that will give you more than you ever expect at the right price. Remember think straight a bent frame or forks on a bike that has dented coil covers is a bike that can kill you and will kiss you goodbye. One can pay a lot of import bank notes that you will never utilize so be smart. You have small bikes, medium bikes, and large bikes medium bikes have no power just about reach highway speed. As you expect to cover 800 miles on a round trip with no stereo. Make sure your tyres are new your brakes will stop you and your oil is new. Also when your in traffic, have icecream or just a little brake it allow both of you to breathe. Finally not everyone likes free spirits so have your accommodation or at least know where your going. Remember if you leave your engine on while you put a helmet on and that. There is nothing better than for some intustiast to jump your ride and crash it. So remember your expensive toy, knock off your engine off until your completely ready and chain it to something. There is nothing worse than saying I just parked here, where is my beautiful bike gone.

You missed the new BSA Goldstar 650 single. But this video is 2021. However, it has been in the works for years. Cooler than any of these and not reliant on Chinese engines. Chinese engines are a major turn-off for me. I raced in the 60s and 70s and used to rebuild BSAs and other vintage bikes. The new BSA was designed in England and is built in India, like the other new British marks.

Can we stop calling classic British motorcycles “retro”? We call a Harley a cruiser, not a retro...but it’s more dated than any classic British bike.
