When I got my first electric guitar and Amp I learned most of the songs in this video's list. Hate them or love them, AILD has some of the coolest guitar riffs, and if you want to improve your playing, especially metal, I highly recommend learning AILD songs!

I’m not sure why, but despite so many amazing songs by this band, I always come back to Comfort Betrays. There is something off kilter and complex about that song. The solos bounce around over a polka-like beat with playfulness before descending into absolute face melting madness. There is just so much packed into that song. I get why it’s not they’re most popular one, but it’s my go to.

I think Parkway Drive could also be entitled as kings of metalcore. That is my personal opinion tho. The first Parkway Drive albums basically defined the sound of metalcore. Other band's breakdowns weren't half as brutal as PWD.

Parkway Drive riffs still leave me in awe. Heavy, raw, unique, and fun. Plus, when I saw them they came out to the theme song of Halo 2 so...instant win in my book haha. Regardless As I Lay Dying helped develop my playing style as well and what I liked.

Lexan man I’m sorry to say this but parkway will NEVER be as heavy as AILD they never were and they won’t be because they rely more on a melodic hardcore vibe. I don’t even think parkway could be considered metal ore because of how much hardcore influence they have. As I lay dying has more of a hardcore/heavy metal sound with a little bit of death metal in there. Both are legends though!!
