Order at: www.indiemerch.com/metalblader... Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso and Jordan Mancino lay down the instrumental portions of "The Powerless Rise" with producer Adam D. at the helm. Order: www.thepowerlessrise.com
Such an underrated metal album. This is the album that, IMO, put these guys in the elite class of metalcore. The riffs/solos, breakdowns, cleans, and sheer brutality of the screams are out of this world. When this album was released, Tim solidified himself as the best screamer in metal in my opinion.
He's all over the scene, he's the one who fine tuned Parkway Drive's sound and produced their album Killing With A Smile and Horizons. Adam is an animal musician.
Adam D is a Producer.. there's a difference between a label and a Producer/engineer. He records other bands that aren't signed to Metal Blade as well. One of the best for sure.
@IMakeMetal The masking tape is used to prevent the wobblyness of the strings, of course since the 6th string is the most with lag. Mostly used in recording, because when you do the instrumental part, that tape is either to prevent the strings shakes, or if you're focusing on a certain sting you would put tape over the ones you don't want to get in the way. Thats how the guitars sounds clean on recorded versions.
@whitemetal1000 that knocking sound is called click tracks or metronome. it helps them stay in tempo while recording. i'm guessing those tapes on their strings prevents the other strings ring out so it could sound cleanly
I ever get big enough to choose my producer, I'm definitely choosing Mike D. without question, not just for his skill and talent, but simply it just looks like so much fun to work with him.
Why am i not at all suprised to see Adam D in this studio... love how he kicked our own Parkway Drive in to gear on their first two albums .. 🤘Australia
since i always re-watching this vids, so i tell myself that 1:17 this drum part is from Anodyne Sea breakdown, is also similar with Greater Foundation Intro
@Silverexx i know im really looking forward to listening to the song at the beginning when are they gonne release some of this on their myspace or purevolume or something.
@Maccelinho sadly this solo and or song did not make it to the album :( i searched for it like crazy then read it :(:(:( its a fkn sick solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@whitemetal1000 that beat its the tempo so they wont get lost, and the blue tape its when they are doing a riff that doesnt use the strings they hold them so the riff will be clean, its gotta be album perfect.
@Fabio81109 Nope. It was supposed to be Condemned, but Nick didn't like the last note. It "sounded too happy." So we now have the current solo with that epic trem at the end.
@deebald that's all against unwanted string noise, works really well, if you ever record guitar parts do that and you'l be having less unwanted sounds(but it facks up your strings )
hey guys, i think that solo at 1:35 might have been in a song that they might have thought was too out there, like the only constant is change and condemned. they were afraid to release those songs. but after those songs became a lot more successful than they expected, they might be more prone to releasing more 'out there' stuff...which hopefully includes that song
It is possible for the solo at 1:38 to be part of their Unreleased bonus song "Paralyzed". Just a maybe idk if they are gonna release that track anyway.
