Last year I bought a L3560LE over a 3R. My reasoning was you can put a LA805 loader on a 3560. It has a lift capacity of 1700 lbs, if I remember right the John Deere was closer to 1200 lbs. The 6 range HST plus is also awesome. The Kubota fuel tanks are below the tractor, no lifting cans over the hood. The big bonus for the L3560 is the Limited Edition drops the price by almost 3k.
The 2 speed HST would be a deal killer for me on any of the Deere. I rarely use High on my Kubota, with medium being the most used, and low being great for heavy pushing/pulling. Great video as always Courtney!
I have a two speed hst, in a sub compact you would be surprised how rarely I wish for a medium range. High for light loader work, mowing and lighter snow removal, low for earth work and heavy loader work. On the farm the L series kubota we have almost always stays in mid range aside from driving out to the field, and low range for dirt work, rarely ever use high, same concept. I guess you just get used to what you have per unit.
Im with you there. I use all three ranges on my b2630 regularly. I wouldnt go without any of them. I operated a 2 series not long ago. I cant remember exactly what it was. I think 2025. I was not impressed compared to my b2630. The two range trans was not ideal, the operator station was small and the bucket control was very poor.
I think of the hundred or so videos on tractors I’ve seen yours are always the best. I feel with you I’m getting an honest unbiased opinion. Great knowledge and a big help. I even called you once and got some great advice. Thanks for all you do for us.
Pretty good comparison. When I was looking at JD vs Kubota vs others, I choose the 4066R for a couple of reasons, 1: Kubota Australia are still only offering the L5740(bit out of date now). 2: the 4R is available here with EH 3point Control and EH Joystick, 3: Front PTO and 3point are a factory fit option vs Kubota's aftermarket solution 4: most Importantly the Dealer was alot better, the local JD dealer had been in business since the 70's with a team that had been with them since the beginning in some instances with a full workshop, parts, and field service crew vs the local Kubota dealer who has been in business since 2015 and one mechanic covering off both field service/ workshop and a sales guy that also worked the parts counter who doesn't have a great reputation.
I also had a Kabota dealer with a bad reputation , but a couple of good ones a good ways off . The JD is great . Although one further away not so good . So that was part of my decision to buy a 4044m . Honestly if that deal didn't come along just at the right time I would've liked a a 4066r or the L series limited better . Except for a little worry about maneuvering in some thick stuff I have to do where I was worried about the cab .
As a Gen2 2025R owner, for reference, here is a list of differences between the machine and a 1025R. Differences only between the 2025R and 1025R include: - Increased ground clearance - Increased loader lift capacity - Increased 3 pt lift capacity - Higher maximum ground speed in Low and High - Increased hydraulic performance - More spacious-feeling (for me) driver cockpit area - Increased overall length - Large difference in base weight - Completely different larger wheels and tires which give the tractor very different performance characteristics on different terrain types. - Tires, when filled if desired, add additional hundreds of pounds of weight difference which further affects stability and performance at work I think I got most everything. I chose the 2025R after almost purchasing a 1025 and could not be happier. It may or may not "beat" the comparable Kubota, but it seems to justify its premium over the 1025R, in my opinion. Hopefully that is helpful.
I know at least 10 people with several thousand hours on small Kubota tractors mowers etc. with almost zero issues. I know at least five people that purchased small John Deere tractors and had problems with them ontop of being completely unhappy with their purchase. That being said I would and have been a Kubota guy with zero regrets to date👍. I’m sure someone else has a different experience I myself honestly wouldn’t consider a John Deere under 100 horsepower, their Chinese cheap built with bad quality control
I own a kubota bx 23 s. I find the quick attachments very quick and easy to switch out. I would like the more lift capacity which the deere has but I have owned my kubota for 2 years and it seems to be very well made and reliable
I have a l3560 and I never use my heel to run in reverse. I just move my foot back and press down with my toe. For me it works the same as it would on a JD, but instead of moving my foot right or left it is forwards or back. This makes backing up really comfortable if I turn and look over my right shoulder, because my foot is next to the seat and not stretched out.
I have a 2024 JD 2032r and it's great. The 2 pedal hydro is what makes the JD better than the 1 treadle pedal 'Bota, IMO. I also really like the looks of the Massey's! JD dealer is 6 miles away and no MF dealers even close. JD's do hold their value well when selling or trading. Keep that in mind before deciding.
My decision process is: 1. listing what capabilities I need, including distance to dealera and comfort/convenience. 2. Finding models that fit without major drawbacks. 3. Comparing prices. Cheers
I probably wouldn’t buy a Kubota because I hate treadle pedals. John Deere’s hitch control is friggin awesome. John Deere needs to really improve their hydraulic systems. It’s hard, but not impossible, to curl/dump your bucket while raising/lowering your booms. I don’t have any experience with kubota, I wouldn’t mind trying one out but I’m pretty comfortable with Deere.
I looked at a new 3025e when shopping for tractors. I really wanted to like it, it was a handsome little tractor but was easily out classed by the Kubota L2501 and Kioti Ck2610. The 2 speed hst, aluminum trans housing, proprietary attachments, no fuel gauge on dash, the basic riding mower style sprung seat, loader controls on loader, exposed cast frame through deck etc was a deal breaker. It also had the lowest lift capacities and was the most expensive of the three. The Kioti is what we ended up buying
I really enjoy your videos, great comparison. Being "old school", I really love my 2021 JD 3035D. Yep. Gear shift. If course, my JD lawnmower is hydro, so I do see the advantages. I used to work in a JD plant and can vouch for the sheer determination they have for quality. Paint, finish, heavy-dutiness sold me on them. On my farm, the tractor gets used a lot and I appreciate all of your videos, especially about attachments. Keep up the good work, man!
I had a 1025r and currently have a 2025r. I don’t regret my decision. It is more expensive but I feel it’s almost justified. You do get a bigger rearend with the 2025r along with a slightly bigger hydro pump. There are other aspects to a tractor that people forget. The 2025r weighs almost 400 pounds more than a 1025r and is about 7” longer. I noticed the extra weight digging into a pile of gravel. And JD fit and Finnish is so much better…my buddy has a Kubota b2601…20k dollar tractor and kubota can’t put a digital hour meter on?? My seat is nicer and comes with a bucket level indicator. The kubota doesn’t. The 2025r also has all the same quick disconnect stuff as the 1025r.
The 2025 r is a tiney turd for a old homeowner with a small yard. I have a mower for the grass and a mx 6000 for a tractor big difference folks and very small difference in price
Great video. Based on what you said and my personal experience (1300+ hour seat time with Kubota L-series), the 3038 must be popular because of the strength of the JD name and paint color. Between the non-removeable loader, the 2 range hydro, the proprietary quick-attach and the 2 pedal transmission, the JD is a non-starter for me. I grew up in a sea of John Deere real "farm" tractors and the iconic green/yellow would look great on my farm, but my Kubota L3901HST is much more capable. And YES, I love the treadle.....the JD 2 pedal tranny is awkward for me!!
The whole "proprietary quick attach" is a dumb argument at this point. On the smaller tractors it is much better than the ssqa without question. Anybody that sells front attachments makes and sells the john deere style. Everything else us on point tho

Prefer the treadle, prefer SSQA, prefer a cab on a 2 series size so I’m in a Kubota. Grew up on Green, currently on Orange and will be for the foreseeable future. Don’t think you can go wrong with either, it’s all about preference buy what you prefer
When I was looking at the 3E and standard L series I went in leaning heavily toward John Deere. I wanted that green paint bad. However, when I started comparing features, design, capabilities, and construction I was very disappointed with what I found with the 3E. I would have to go to the 3R and a higher cost even to come close to match the L. I went with a L3301 Kubota and I am very pleased with it. Great video.

Hey thanks for the video. I ordered a kabota bx23s last November and it's finally being delivered tomorrow. I was a little torn between it and the 1025r. I ended up going with the kabota mainly do to price. The kabota was about $23k and the 1025r was at 28k. Plus I was able to get 84 month 0% financing. Also kabotas loader accepts universal quick connect skidsteer attachments. Just my 2 cents worth.
When these guys compare the Kubota "BX" Line to the JD 1025R...... They ALWAYS never compare them on price..... as You stated, the JD 1025R w/hoe costs $28K Compared to the Kubota BX23s costs $23K that is a whole lot of difference in price!!!! You made a wise decision buying the BX23s If these guys are going to compare compact tractors, they need to put the JD 1025R up against the Kubota B2301...... and then lets see witch one comes out on top !
The treadle direction control was a total deal breaker for me. I borrowed my neighbors small Kubota to spread a load of shell rock on my drive way. I am 70 and my leg got very tired holding my foot up on it. When I went to buy my own small tractor I did not even consider getting a Kubota, I love my new JD 1023E. The two speed transmission is good enough. Most of the time I only need low. The only time I use high is when I am driving from one end of my property to the other. Shifting to high is easy and only takes a second.
Started with compacts with kioti. Both were fantastic hard working and dependable. Then went to Kubota. Both of those were great engine wise but trans and hydraulics stalled easily and never got used to the treadle peddle. Then went to John Deere. 2305 first and now a 1025r. No issues with the 2305. 1025r has/had a few issues (hydraulic leaks, position control failure and seat suspension breakage to name a few. Pretty sure next and maybe last will be a Kioti again.
I’ve owned everything from a L series, gen 1 2025r, b2601… the green tractors proprietary implements just piss me off… and their smaller tractors aren’t happy with a backhoe on them. Biggest complaint on Kubotas is that their lineup was confusing to figure out… I will keep my little bx(grass friendly garden tractor) and my L series( is much tougher than the B series) for dragging trees and working hard
Interesting comparisons to be sure. So many choices just between two brands! I have a feeling most people that hate the treadle pedal have never even tried it or hardly spent any extended time using one. Personally I have spent a good amount of time on a twin pedal and it was easy to use. But I’ll take the treadle pedal over the twin. I can’t imagine anything being more natural and easier than simply rocking your ankle forward or backward. I’m certain that exact same motion happens when one walks. I found it is easier to finesse small movements changing direction with the treadle. Of course there will be someone who spent years with the treadle and hated it.. ok. Obviously it boils down to personal preference. If the treadle pedal was that bad, Kubota would have canned it years ago.
Despite being a big fan of the 1025R I really feel once you leave the subcompact range there is no comparison. I just feel you get a lot more for the money with Kubota. I wouldn't even consider a 2032R/2038R when for less money I could get a standard L which is a far more capable tractor. I know one is considered economy and the other deluxe but I just couldn't justify it. If for some reason I was comparing the 2032 and the LX3310 it would again be a no brainer for the 3 range transmission. Things may tip back towards the Deere once you get to the 4 series and above but I have no experience there so I can't really comment on it. All that said I don't think any tractors from either brand are bad (now that Kubota dropped the 3350). It's all about what's important to you.
Interesting video. You're probably right about the 2025R vs B2601 for value for money. Personally I've got a Gen 2 2025R TLB on a small hobby farm with lots of tight spaces and a bigger tractor wouldn't have suited the property. It is my very first tractor and the capabilities of the 1025R would have suited my needs, but the ground clearance alone was a big problem as we have overgrown fields and other rough terrain that I need that clearance for. The 2025R is just a little bit bigger, taller, heavier and more capable. I can fill the bucket to the brim with rocks or gravel and lift it effortlessly and I think most people overestimate how much weight they really need to lift when looking at specs. In the real world the loader lift capacity has never been a problem for me. The price difference between the 1025R and the 2025R was only around $3000 Canadian while the difference between the 1025R and 2032R was closer to $12,000 CAD, or $8,000 more than the 2025R. Also the nearest Kubota dealer is 3 hours away and I have a Deere dealer within walking distance of my house so it was a big deciding factor even though it's a very extreme case. Anyway, always listen to your customers needs because the 2025R may be the perfect machine for them if they just need a little bit more over a 1025R because the small price difference is worth it in my opinion.
I just bought a kubota M4D-071. I wanted to stay less than 75hp to avoid DEF. Also contending were the M62 TLB and Grand L6060. The things that won me over were the 2900lb loader capacity (middle of the pack, more than L6060, less than M62) and the enclosed large cab with buddy seat (M4 is the only one with a buddy seat, the L6060 has enclosed cab only, M62 has no cab). Delivery is next week. Use is property maintenance including heavy EA wicked grapple (600lbs) for use in the woods, limited tilling, hogging, snow removal. Will be adding top and tilt kit, +4 additional rear hydraulics.
Nicely done! Glad you incorporated the last set of utilities. I was leaning towards the Kubota. The jump seat aspect just sold me as I hadn’t considered the kids coming along.
One thing I like about the pedals on the kubota is when I’m doing stuff with the back I don’t have to look forward to make sure I don’t hit the wrong pedal like I would on the John Deere so I can keep looking at the implements and make sure nothing happens
I bought my 3901 over a year ago. It’s the manual, 4x4, bar tires, rear remotes with a loader and backhoe. I literally use it multiple times a week. Having a backhoe is awesome. I do not regret getting it. I got a pretty good deal on the tractor and backhoe. I own 6 acres and have a good sized pond between my neighbor and my property.
I’d have to agree with everything in this video. Iv only owned kubota’s. Currently own a bx25d and a mx6000. always wanted a John Deere. The 1025r stomps the BX, John Deere makes such a nice tractor, I just can’t get past the fact of the 2 range transmission. I looked at the 4052r, extremely nice tractor! Kubota was just a little cheaper and the dealership was closer and I already had a couple skid steer attachments. I will own a John Deere one day
Have you driven a John Deere? I rarely use high on my 1023E, low is fast enough. Working in my garden or when mowing I just leave it in low. A few times when I was digging dirt on side of my property to fill in a low spot on the other side I was shifting into high to run over the low spot but the tractor plenty of torque in high to creep if you need to and it takes just a second to shift back to low to load the bucket.
Good comparisons. I’m a subcompact guy and JD owner. In my opinion the Kubota doesn’t come close to the JD in that category as far as ease of use and capacities except maybe 3 pt lift. Have a couple of friends with orange subs and have used them. They don’t come close especially ease of use. And in my opinion JD beats Kubota as far as looks goes in all categories especially the subs. JD subs look much more substantial. I’m tall and feel funny on the Kubota subs.
Lol....the two pedal set up on the Deere is why my tractors are always orange. I just pull up with the toe of my boot and backwards I go. I guess its a good thing we have choices. Both build great tractors and I love older John Deere tractors.
I own both currently and can't stand the tredle pedal, can't do the toe under the pedal move most of the time because I can't fit my boots under it very easily. The L series kubota would fit my needs nicely though.
Alot of people don't know how important position control is but it's a must have in my opinion glad you mentioned that kubota is a great tractor if I was buying one it would be a model with that function
The one thing that you did not mention in the JD 4series vs MX and even the 4R vs Grand L was the Hitch Assist on the Heavy Duty models and the R series. Extremely nice when hooking up a heavy implement on uneven ground, not having to go back and forth to the operator station.
Love the cut to the chase review. I'm still not 100% sure which I want. Kinda want something American. I honestly don't care where they build them, I want to support American companies. I'm in Tennessee and the Kubota is a lot cheaper. They have a dealer close by in Georgia that offers packages that even includes a trailer.
Interesting take on things i would say pretty much either machine will do what the basic user would want ... Consumer tractor market is a fun one to say the least ... Kubota has been making a lot of new roads into mid size tractors and they really want to be the next big tractor player in the USA so it will be interesting to see how it goes if they take over the versatile brand and line which would make them a full line player from 18-650 horse
As a family that is taking delivery on a Grand L 3560, my conclusions were about the same versus a 3R. They are very similar deluxe tractors. When you go larger in the Grand L the fairer comparison to 4R makes more sense. We primarily came down to the 3560 because it was available except for the loader. With the wait times on Tractors, it made more sense for us to wait about 3 months on a loader to take delivery versus over 6 months for JD or A Kubota at another dealership. Plus this dealer puts the heavier duty loader on because they it serves the customer better. Also, we are having them install the hydraulic skid steer assist. I am not sure if JD has that feature. But we decided we wanted the convenience since we are older. I know some brought up hydraulics flow of implements. But on the 3560 versus the 3R they are almost identical. Also I do think the hi and low option in each speed will helps us for our applications along with stall guard.
Great video Courtney, I'm sure you'll ruffle some feathers but great info to get out there. I compared the 3e and standard L when I was tractor shopping and came to the same conclusion as you. Additional data points I found were important were lift height/capacity of the loader, material choice of the transmission and front axle size/construction
I have a B 3350. I like the HP but hate the regeneration. I find when I turn around to face rear I most often hit the steering height adjustment lever…the placement is hazardous. One issue Kubota has note changed is the placement of the battery ground which is outside on the lower front frame. If there is a lot of rain and after the winter the threads become rusted breaking the circuit. Placement inside the hood would be better. The tractor feels tipsy on a hill due to its higher center of gravity as compared to my previous B 3029.

I recently did a comparison of the MX5400 Vs the Deere 4044m in two local dealerships; feature wise they were similar enough, loader and 3 point capability is near identical. But for the same dollars where I am you get the 55hp MX or the 44hp Deere; and when you start with 20% less PTO hp for the same nickel that green paint just isn’t good enough to make up the difference. To get into the same HP in a Deere I was looking at a 20% price premium, so I went with the orange one. No regrets so far, although I’ve only got about 1 hr of machine time on yet.
Would you consider doing a 3 way comparison between John Deere, Kubota, and Kioti? I am looking at that compact level of the John Deere 2032R/2038R Vs Kubota LX3310 VS kioti ck3510se hst. I would really like to hear your review of the Kioti to try and determine which is the best tractor. If you have already done this review, I apologize for asking again, just point me to the link.
I had a B2650 and recently upgraded to a 3028R, mostly for the MSL loader, ease of connecting the backhoe and extra HP in a similar size. I miss the M range for sure, but autothrottle helps. One thing you didn’t mention on the Grand L are two unique options: hydraulic SSQA and hydraulic thumb for the backhoe. I’m not sure those are available on any other compact tractor of that size.
You forgot to mention the Deere tractors turn sharper in every class. Also, the 4R has an economy PTO, self leveling loader and the drivetrain is much more heavy duty (planetary final drive). Hydraulic flow is also higher on every JD mode vs Kubota.
I've never had a 4r with ePTO. Turning radius really only matters to me on a tractor I'm mowing with, JD does win there. Kubota's loader control makes it very easy to do 2 functions at one. I am undecided on MSL. Thanks for watching!
It’s an option that’s been available since 2011. I have several hundred hours on a 4520 with it. Full 540 PTO at 1800rpm. Works great for rototilling and mowing. Turning radius is huge when working in tight areas; especially doing loader work. MSL is great, and the smaller Deere loaders with it aren’t perfect, but they can lift way more than the competition.
@@Formulabruce Haha, I hear ya. However, a small parking lot is still a parking lot. Not a driveway. I've had just about every modern model in my small parking lot at my shop. The only way I can think of to get a real significant difference in turning radius is by going smaller. You could call the flat area at the top of my driveway at home a small parking lot I suppose. In that case, the 1025r still isn't close to nimble enough to turn around easily in my drive even though it has a tigher turning radius than the BX. Nothing beat the X739 AWS I had for my drive.
@@mrdeereford Yeah, I'm sure it's nice, but my point was just that ePTO is not popular, I've had many 4 Series machines and never had it on there. I liked MSL at my shop for moving pallets. I wish I didn't have it out at my property. That's why I'm undecided on it.
Deciding factor for me came down to $$$$. An equivalent to the L4060 HSTC is the 4 series JD, which priced it out of the market. Even the 3R series that matched HP wise was priced too high, for what turned out to be less tractor, in both size and weight. The Pedals are what you are used to, going to the JD would be difficult because I am used to the treadle on the B2410. I have issues driving the X500 due to the pedal layout and have to look down to see what the heck I am doing when I want to back up. Or I hit the reverse when I want to go forward, and anyone who has one knows what happens to the mower deck when you go backwards instead of forwards., Stop, Reset, start over.
The revised treadle pedal in my new L3560 HSTC is as easy to operate as was the two pedal system in my previous JD 2032r. These obviously are not Apple to Apple tractors, but Orange is so much better than Green in so many ways. Just compare a JD 3 series with L3560 each with a front mount snowblower …. no comparison!
MSL has really become less appealing to me since putting a lot of time on my 4720 on the property. I'm not sure I'd get it again, at least not for out there. Didn't think about the 3d

I looked at the JD 1025 and the Kubota BX23S. Both were impressive but final decision was the Kubota. I was much more comfortable with the Kubota dealership and the pricing on the Kubota was much better. As someone mentioned green paint must be expensive! Keep up the great videos!!
I really enjoy all your videos. I am still loving my 5115M thanks again. She now has almost 300 hours on her. I have had all the Deere sizes/series 1-5 series . I do agree the 2025R is pretty much a 1.5 series or in my opinion as to why I own a 2025R today, is that it is really the perfect 1025R. Everything I disliked about my 1025R was pretty much resolved with the 2025R. Originally I had traded my 1025R for a 2038R. Which at that time I also had a 3039R which I later traded that 3039R to you for the 4720 you have now. The whole issue with the large frame 2 series is that it is the same physical size as a 3R, the 2038R has a wheelbase that is only 1/2 shorter then a 3039R. The 3Rs were so much more capable then the large frame 2R. Plus the 2038R really would not fit anywhere I could not get my 3R into, so I lost my compact size and didn't gain all that much capability over the 1R . Later I found that the 2025R really solved all the complaints I had with both the 1025R and the 2038R. I now with the 2025R have the smaller size of the 1 series yet I have ground clearance that is sorry missing from the 1R. The 2025R has a much smoother ride better ergonomics , it is more stable and has far better ground clearance then the 1025R. IMO, the 2025R is the perfect 1 series tractor, or Subcompact tractor. Which Deere does class the 2025R as a subcompact same as the 1025R. I agree if your needing something more in line with the large frame 2Rs capability the 2038R is a good machine, might even be better to look at the 3R family which does get the 3 range hydro trans and is the same physical size as the 2038R, with even more lift capacity . I am not sure, but I have always had the feeling these manufactures like to keep the water a little muddy when it comes to comparison of one brands models to another, meaning they don't quite line up perfectly with each other on purpose. That way one can say they are better then the other for this or that reason.
Oh how I miss the 5115! This is a perfect case of there being the right tractor for everyone. That said, you did more trial and error than most, but you've now got a ton of experience to share because of it. Great info, say hi to Big Green for me!

Big maybe on that one, since I do love both my 5115Ms. Something you might like if your still keeping your 4720, I fell in love with that LSS system on the 5115M that I recently added LSS to my 4066R along with a self leveling loader that I really missed after trading that 4720 back to you since it had the MSL. LSS is just an incredible feature. I know your like me, and love having all the features, LSS is one feature that if you have never experienced it, you should really try it. The 5115M I bought from you came with it my other 5115M does not have it, and the difference between them is night and day when it comes to loader work, also field work with the loader still on, the LSS really smooths out the ride a lot.
You hit the nail on the head. I left a comment earlier kind of saying what you were saying but not as in depth. I also had a 1025r and traded up to a 2025r. I completely agree that it might be a little ambitious to call it a 2 series but I feel like it’s the perfect tractor. It’s like a bigger slightly more capable 1025r yet still being relatively compact. I think people overlook it because it kind of settles through the cracks but I think it’s just about perfect.
It's a lot of data and fun comparing these... It would be good for another video to group tractors by how they're best used next... For example, "Small homestead/landscaper machines where flexibility with weight and smaller frame size is best", "Middle farm and ranch machines heavy enough for ground work/round bales", "Big farm machines with the heavy weight and heavy price tag to go with it".
So one of the things that led me to buy the BX23S over the 1025R is my personal experience with the Kubota Engine that it comes with. It was in a Wacker Neuson Rt rollers that would be run remotely and would often get buried, then dug up with large excavators or whatever might be available on the site. The machine itself being remote didn't have a lot of vibration isolation since the operater wasn't actually touching it. So with all of this vibration, getting buried, dug up and just beat up pretty severely, the engine never gave anyone trouble and it was a high volume product, selling easily a few thousand per year. I figured that if the durability process at Kubota could create an engine this durable it probably does the same for the rest of the machine and that it would be able to survive my yard no problem.
You most definitely can order a buddy seat for a 5075E. Instructional seat, right on build page. If you are handy enough with part numbers you can get the 3rd function and rear wiper too :D
@@GoodWorksTractors yes this is for current model year. I was split between a 4066 and 5075. Had the 5075 loaded and my dealer pulling his hair out but was able to add rear wiper (nuts its not a factory option) and 3rd function. Seat was factory option. Ended up with the 4066R as it was just a better size fit and nicer finish. The cab size is great on the 5075E though. Only thing I made the dealer change was a nearly impossible to find JD rear windshield relocation kit for the 4066 that actually makes it work worth a 💩
I own a JD 4052M and lately I’m very disappointed not with the tractor but in general with JD service. Every time you need an attachment I feel they are doing me a favor. If you need service ( I own several JD PRODUCTS) they take your machine, and later realize it takes 8 weeks to get a part. They can easily leave the machine w you, order the part and, when arrives, work on what is necessary. Is there the same feeling around?? Is Kubota service better?? I do believe that service has to be a great part of the decision…

32 hp 4wd. 7 years ago. If cab comfort is important. John Deere wins big time. Also brake pedal and reverse forward pedals were much better located on Deere. Kubotas are tough. But comfort, convenience, fit and finish is critical. Worked in reclamation at a coal mine years ago. We all tried to get the JDs as cabs were quiet cooler and better dust filtration. Cat is also the best for comfort and performance.
Good reviews. I do think it makes a difference how you get the tractor configured and how you plan to use it. It is most definitely a point in the LX3310's favor that it has an option for a cab, but if you don't get it with a cab does it still win? The drive over mower deck isn't just for the 1 series John Deere's. The 2's and 3's have them as well. If you don't plan on using the MMM then it isn't a point for JD, if you do then it is. When I can afford it I would really like to step up from the 1025R and am trying to decide between the LX 3310 and the 2032R/2038R. A point for me to consider that may not apply to everyone is that since I already have a 1025R I can keep my pallet forks, stump bucket and grapple if I stay with JD, if I got the Kubota I would have to buy all those again.

Just had a guy from K7bota dealer, over to give me the options, price on the B2301 and the LX2610. Almost felt off my chair. The B2301, TBLM. 74 months 0% + Ins. $46,400.00.😮 WTH! A small tractor, 21hp, lift capability 600lb on pins. Man! No way. I said about cash deal? He said we take $500 off! Realy?
I have run bigger Kubota tractors ( M120 ) and had a Kubota zero turn mower - both seemed really good, although the loader arms on the M120 were disappointing - they bent far too easily. I recently had a 2010 Case 35 Farmall and that was a great little tractor but found myself wanting more out of a compact size tractor. I just ( literally yesterday ) bought a used JDeere 4720 with 1500 hours on it. I think that the 4720 will be the right fit for what I want it to do - mainly snow removal in the winter and a complement machine to my skidsteer for repairing and building gravel roads and right of ways.
The Kubota treadle pedal was the main difference I went with the John Deere 1025R, so easy to use. The 1025R is an awesome tractor. The treadle pedal is from the middle ages.
Here is my story between JD and Kubota. I owned a L3800 Kubota ( my first tractor) and loved how much of a work horse it was the only down fall was the loader seemed like it was not as strong as I thought it should be. I had a JD salesman talk me into a 3033r JD the first day it tried to kill me. A load of rock in the bucket and the back tires came off the ground and headed me towards the pond ( yes I had loaded rear tires) come to find out JD uses an aluminum rear differential which takes a lot of weight off the rear which is where you need it. After talking to the dealer they offered me an upgrade to a 4044m I brought it home for a couple of days and it worked well, loaded would lift half the world, I was pleased with the lift. Now comes the problem, once I signed the papers I had the tires loaded as I have with every tractor with a loader. This significantly changed the weight to power ratio. The tractor now is a dog, you can't starts off empty without setting off a hydro alarm. It has been back twice to the dealer with no problem found. It struggles to run the same equipment my L3800 Kubota did with no trouble. So my advice if you are looking at a 4 series tractor do not go with the 4044 if you plan on filling the tries it just does not have the power. One other thing be careful with the hydro pedals until you get use to the it seems to me the fwd/rev should be swapped. I still after 2 years hit rev when I want fwd.
I don't feel the Kubota BX got a fair fight in this video. The Loader has a minimal step, quick connect that is fairly simple also, it also has a single bracket/seal for all the hoses for the loader. The BX also has a drive-over quick connect mower also you also reviewed late 2019. It's got a few more steps, but its not hard to do especially after you do if a handful of times it takes but 1-2 minutes. It's ramps make it easier too in my experience. To me the BX loader being SSQA is also a huge difference here for being able to find accessories. Lets also not forget JD and Right to Repair issues, proprietary everything and higher part prices. My buddy's 1025 blew a simple loader hose, he couldn't go to the Ag shops, he had to go to JD and pay way more plus they didn't have any in stock. Kubota, go to any Ag shop and they can cut and fit in minutes for next to nothing. The one thing on JD though I wish the BX had was the 3point position control. My opinion is they are a toss up based on cost, cost of ownership, right to repair etc
Yeah, Kubota's drive over mower system is pretty much a joke compared to JD's. It'll work, but I would choose it 0 times out of 100 if comparing against JD's AutoConnect. When enough of the Kubota dealers told me not to get that system when I'd add a mower deck, then that's telling you something. I've had probably a couple hundred BX over the years and can think of 3 or 4 that had the drive over system. I'd have to imagine that most Kubota dealers are telling their customers to steer clear of that drive over system. I've had to replace parts on the loader quick park system on three different BX's since that design came out and have had leaks on four of the single point connections. I hardly get any BX anymore so that's saying something. When I did a review on that system a couple of years ago, that was my concern. It works great, but way to many small moving parts. I was concerned about longevity. Right to repair is irrelevant on compact tractors. Doesn't factor in at all. You don't pay more for proprietary parts. I charge the exact same price for both. We use a local independent shop all the time. Plus, my JD dealer also custom makes hoses while you wait. My BX23s that I have right now has been in the shop to fix a leak on the single point connection, the loader joystick, and the front axle three times in six months. This is with the local Kubota dealer. It took them three visits and many weeks to fix it properly. The tractor has a few hundred hours on it. Kubota is out of parts just as often as JD is, that's for sure. I gave Kubota plenty of wins in this video, but the BX is firmly behind the 1025r.
Bought my kubota b2650 in 2017 never gave me any problems awsome tractor. Looked at j.d. an m.f. bought kubota since they are made in japan at one factory not outsourced like the others and made in a third world country. And the treadle pedal is easy to use i have no problems with it.
Thanks for your informative video’s I appreciate your help and advice. I am a proud owner of a new MX6000 open station and have a backhoe on order. I am considering having one or two remotes added when the backhoe is installed. I may get a 12 foot batwing in the future. I wanted your opinion as I don’t know if there’s different types for different applications , if so what would you recommend. I just thought since they will have to run hydraulics to the backhoe it would be a good time for the remotes to be installed. Thanks for any information on this .
The Kubota hydraulic system is low volume, low pressure. All remotes,&backhoe hydraulic flow is further restricted through the loader control valve ( quit good), but restrictive plumbing---too small of hoses & fittings --- They cheeped out! My Kubota Mx5200 got revamped (by me) ,with bigger hoses& fittings for a 40% improvement. Now the backhoe is just slow, previously it was almost uncappable. When it was "New" it was set up for amitures, with only two &1/2 functions at once for the backhoe & was burning the fluids, things got HOT after 45 minutes. The backhoe All ways had power just NO Speed. Just don't like screaming 54hp for just 13hp of hydraulic power--they NEED A BIGGER Pump. Happy safe tractoring Sir.

Great video, like usual. I'm also glad you did the bonus round because i am in the market for a utility tractor for hay work. The only thing i do not like on the Kubota compacts with hydro is the treadle, just like you. I am 6'3", and i think that is part of it. My knee ends up sticking up in the air. I have been happy with my L3901 with a gear drive transmission, even with loader work. A treadle would be a deal breaker for me.
Been using deere for 20 years Quality is gone. No matter the model of mower or tractor. Owning a small landscaping company , I have noticed over the years, they just aren't made to last. Everything looks heavy duty, but just outside of warranty all kinds of expensive steel parts wear and fall apart, and I use the mid- high level gear so as to not destroy people's property with overly heavy machines... I think Ill be going with Kubota in the future.
You will like the HVAC vents around the steering column or dash. just remember this "heat to the feet, air to the hair". if you can get the hot air to your feet you will be more comfortable and if you can get told air around your face, you will be more comfortable.
i have a bx23s love . i have arm that i can work with and find deck to be just a little work . but with the back hoe awe with one seat, i can do a lot without having to change . one another is the difference in price . that green paint is very costly
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on my first tractor and I'm leaning heavily towards the JD 2032. It's in the price range and has the features/capabilities I'm looking for and need. I wish it came with a factory cab option but there are aftermarket cabs available and I would only use the cab during the winter. The dealer support from JD is more accessible in my area. If I end up moving or down sizing I know I'll be able to get out of the JD tractor without taking a bath and if it breaks and I believe parts are easier to come by. I just don't see a lot of value in the slight performance gains I would get buying a Kubota and I prefer the controls on the JD. One thing for sure is that there are a lot of really capable tractors available. It's all about choosing the one that prioritizes what's moist important to the person purchasing the tractor.
Man if the 2601 beats the 2025, then the lx2610 must just annihilate it. I know, different class of tractor, but what else do you compare the 2610 to? The factory cab option with the simple 26 horse engine is what drew us to and led us to purchase a B2650. JD just didn’t have anything comparable. My biggest beef with it is the hydrostatic whine. In our 3rd winter now, for my purposes it has been nearly ideal.
Also, the treddle pedal is stupid, but I’ve gotten perfectly comfortable with its operation. My biggest irritation with it is I can’t use that floorboard space for chain, strap, etc., or a kid standing location. I know I know, not safe, blah blah ;)
Three things stopped me from buying a Deere: 1) Deere was more money 2) Kubota had a better transmission choice 3) Deere loader was too jerky for me as it is single function hydraulics whereas kubota can raise and roll the bucket simultaneously.
I disagree with the bx vs 1025r. The backhoe and loader are much easier to disconnect on the bx and the easy over deck gets more flack than it deserves (I've had one for almost 4 years now and had 0 issues). The jd auto connect deck is better but the backhoe is way more difficult to install and remove. Loaders are close but the fact you don't have to get off to unhook hoses give the bx the edge. I would call that one more a tie because the only reasons I chose the kubota over the jd was price and kubota's ktac insurance.
