Thanks for posting I learned that Pacer has a full heigh back fuselage not like J 3. when there was a ten feed sheetmetal brake in aucksion I didint have money, now that I have but no brake for sale.
Enjoy your videos. Please update us! I’d love to see the progress. I stopped by and meet Mr Wayne a couple years ago. Super nice guy and seems to be a wealth of knowledge. You guys are blessed to have his involvement and the shop is a bonus. Hope all is going well.
A few projects have moved in front of the Pacers. My J-3/L-4 is about ready to cover, and my Cessna 170A is almost done with some STC’s I’m installing. After that, back in the Pacers!
Hoping for an update here in the near future. I just picked up a pacer frame with the STC paperwork. Going to be gathering parts for the next year or so before I start that project.
I will be adding more content soon, working on my J-3 project as well. Currently installing stringers on the super pacer and working on the skylight. Thanks for subscribing!
If you have the tube cut open for say splicing or repair, its easy. ........... shine a light up the tube. If you EVER see corrosion on the inside of the tube, the whole tube should be suspect. Either compromised from a lot of external corrosion or someone drilled a hole in the tube at some point in it's life and let it "breathe" moisture. MOST corrosion comes from the outside. I drill a couple of holes in a tube if need be, one for light and the other for observation.
We are, but other projects moved in front. I have a J-3 that is closer to completion and a Cessna 170A that I’m adding some STC’ to. The Pacers will be started up soon, hopefully in the next few months after my cub is done.
Forgive me asking and I know there are a million out there, but I thought you couldn''t use certified parts on an experimental. What are the hoops you have to jump thru?
Jim Vaughn you can use certified parts on an experimental, I think the other way around is what gets you in trouble. My Pacer will still be certified when I am finished, it is an STC called the super Pacer.
The way I understand the rules is you can use certified parts as long as you don’t use over 51% of the certified plane. In other words, when your finished with the plane and it’s ready to be inspected, and you’ve answered all the questions on the 51% checklist, 51% of the aircraft either had to be manufactured or assembled by the builder to get the Experimental/ Amateur built certification. I think that’s close to the right answer. Lol Projects look great by the way.
