One thing I noticed about HR is that HR is not a Police Department. They are just workers like everybody else. If there is a conflict between two workers, they are going to do what’s right for the company, not the victim. Usually they try to get rid of the victim, especially if he or she is in the lower hierarchy of the company. Another thing is that if you are being harassed and nobody is doing anything to help you, what you have to do is continue working there until you find more suitable employment. That’s what the unemployment commission told me.

I went to HR. The next thing you know I’m out of a job after reporting harassment.

I work in retail and sometimes feel like I'm being pushed out of my job. The company is all about corporate greed and costs have been eliminated to the unnecessary extreme. They critique everything I do, I get passed up for promotions, and new employees get shift preferences over me.

I remember at one job I was late one time due to horrible weather and my usual route was flooded. Didn't have my boss's phone number so I sent her an email letting her know I was going to be late. When I got there she pulled me aside and started yelling at me and bragged how she was never late to work. Her final words: Next time pick a better route. I then gave her a Bill Belichick death stare and told her "I have a better idea: next time I'll pick a better job. Thank you, fuck you, bye." Dropped my badge onto the floor and just walked away. THAT certainly shut her up. Don't put up with narcissist bosses.

No we shouldn't have to quit. Make that narc quit. Treat her like a pariah & mess with her any chance you get. She is a bully let her know you won't be bullied. If everyone did this they wouldn't do what they do.

Exactly!! I wish I saw this in 2008 when I was in my early 20s working at this BS office furniture company always under the gun to do this do that yet nothing was ever satisfying. I ended up quitting a few years later it wasn’t worth my life my health or my mental well-being best thing I ever did was handing in my notice and then unloading on the management about how miserable this company is and how they treat their employees paying barely over the minimal wage while expecting to go to the ends of the earth for them.

The politics are brutal. I don't go to work to be liked or to like you. It's total bs that I have to act anyway towards anyone. If I don't like you there's a goid reason. They just don't want to be called out for their work politics & want to push you out. That's not right. It should be illegal to bully others at work.

2 years ago a women at work threw a bag of mops at me ....I did nothing to her except stand up for myself when she put me down ..anyways she hit me in the head and it stund me....I told her don't ever do that again ..I never made a complaint even though I was in pain...standing up for yourself is better than complaining to HR ...

So sad it happened to you. It's better to report cases of violent behavior. I am thinking about a recent tragedy occurred at Walmart. Happy you moved on and shared your story here.

One of my team recent new hires saw the projects being closed sign, but it happen not only to him but to all the office. The managers kept telling the employees that certain processes were delayed, but they would have new tasks in a few days. To be safe he started sending CVs, landed his current job and shortly afterwards all the office got fired even the managers that were saying that the processes were delayed.

Sounds like people hated working for the company you work or either worked for. People don’t want to work for a company that’s too strict, and controlling either. People are not perfect in general and not slaves.

I really liked your great narrative but it seems to me that you advise to us to accept and to make peace with unfair treatment, intimidation, victim blaming and discrimination at work is questionable. It is like : you are not liked and no matter how hard you try to be good at work, accept that your boss doesn't like you and that is OK. No, it is not ok, and yes, one has to put up a fight and stand up to gas lighting and other forms of emotional and mental abuse. Leaving a job is not easy matter to introvert people. Finding new one is even more difficult. Your advise is so rhetorical. Easier said then done. Putting up a fight to defend your integrity is more healing then just leaving the job to give them the impression that they are actually right and that is OK to keep your mouth shut and your eyes closed while they are metaphorically speaking torcher you and abuse you. With that victim mentality the circle of abused is going to go stronger and bigger and more powerful. How about you say: people, don't let your employer gas light you, devalue you, manipulate you. Just because they have more power then you it doesn't give them right to undermine you and undeval you for no reason. When HR is going to act as a objective institution, not as a profesional bullies paid to intimidate, coerce and ill advise good, hard working, loyar employees !?!?!?! Where is the ethic and the integrity in the HR profession!?!?!?!?!

1. Struggling financially? Name one company that isn't looking to cut costs these days. 2. Not worth straining your physical or mental health? Millions of people work jobs they hate everyday because they need money. 3. Alienated at work? You might be a stellar performer, but if new leaders come in this could happen.

Hey Manshuk, can you please suggest like if I'm put on PIP with 2 months of duration do you recommend that I voluntarily quit, given the fact that either I'm not going to clear the PIP or I'm eventually going to quit soon. Should I wait for PIP result or do I proceed on quitting in the PIP duration? I don't want to be fired and thus lowering my chances of clearing the next company's interview due to my BGV failure. Please respond my query.. I'm seeking genuine guidance in this recession market

Hi there! I can't recommend anything specific to anyone. I would play safe and be prepared for the worst outcome and start looking for other opportunities and network privately. It's better to reject offers, than not have them. Also, here's my video on PIPs. Hope it helps and big luck to you 🫶 : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FeabHwwsSTY.html

Vaishnavi, I've seen this happen a few times, start looking for a job. If you quit, you won't be able to collect unemployment (in the US). They may fire or lay you off at the end of the 2 months. If they fire you it might still be a little bit of a longer waiting period because you have to tell EDD that they gave you a PIP, you would have to convince EDD that you did everything they asked of you to the best of your ability. They have to verify that with your old employer. But if you get an offer soon after they fire you, like within a month you won't have a gap in your history. If losing your job is a serious issue for you, maybe talk to an employment law lawyer soon.

Other workers treat you like a leper ,dont show your shadow everything. , and sabotage all you can, if its machines, or technical information. do it quickly, and quietly. , enjoy tweaking this, and that. 😂 then think of the chaos you left them with. .ps you have no friends at work.
