the forgery mechanic sounds nuanced af. being able to deceive npc's in a realistic way with realistic results has potential to make mundane fetchquesting really compelling
Some NPCs will know if they are a forgery. Some actually go get the verified and the guy who made the counterfeiter and you have to bribe the guy to say it's real. 😂
@@ryproar11 ; yep and even after I bribed the guy he wanted more than what I payed for the forgery as a bribe and because I refused to pay it he told the client it was a fake and I was forced to kill him
I turned in a fraudulent quest item in DD1. Later in the story in they came to my aid, only to find out the hard way that the item was a fake. Was one of the most memorable gaming moments of my life.
There's a few similar quests in DD2. There are even some quests that have a BETTER outcome for giving a item in the turn in. Its fun to experiment and see thr reactions.
The pawns quest knowledge is such a game changer, I remember having an unmarked quest to find that lady from melve, my pawn just dragged me half a map to where she was
500 rift crystals is very quick and easy to earn. In terms of microtransactions this actually is a micro-transaction, which the game doesn't set itself up in a way to incentivize you to buy it aside from your own willpower to passively earn it in batches of up to 240, or spend 2 bucks
thank you for breaking down the inn storage in regard to blacksmith upgrade materials not having to be on your person- ive been carrying monster parts and ore for no reason!
Im new to dragons dogma. But I think its so great and I think this is why. Its got the setting and the art and the general idea of a elden ring or witcher. Its got a party system like lord of the rings or about any crpg. But you dont have to study movesets or crunch numbers or control every little aspect of your party. Its the most casual nerdy fantasy game and thats awesome. Like I love getting into the weeds of games, but sometimes its just nice to enjoy the experience and not have to work. Its wonderful.
You can also counterfeit items like keys that you only get for certain missions and lose after. So the prison key for example is really useful if you have second one.
Me too! All the vocations are so unique and feel so powerful! I’m using trickster right now, and it can be so much fun to trick the enemies into attacking each other while I set up the next trick. I miss a lot of stuff from dd1 though, like the Brontide spell, more crafting stuff and layers of armour.
Here's a tip that might be a bug: You can use any healing item just before the "You Died" screen pops up to prevent death in combat, no Wakestones required. So long as you're fast enough with the quick healing item shortcut, you're basically immortal.
Yeah I made the fucking dungeon behind the Waterfall where you crash with the gryphon in one run. Had like 20% max health left at the last boss and would have died several times during that fight if not for that mechanic. I don’t believe it’s a bug just a lil window to react cause pawns can’t revive you and wakestones are rare.
1. Mentioning dwarves is a huge spoiler actually. 2. If anyone played the game and didn't realise you can use storage at inn's then they must have played on drugs
@@Arsenic7 oh cool cuz I’ve never seen it and It’s really helpful for knowing when to be careful in a quest, I wish more games had it or it was in the first game
I'm not the most observant person but how is time actually marked on the clock? I noticed that it was there, but couldn't see anything denoting the current time.
I threw Jonas to the Brine, didn't use a wakestone, came back to Melve and he was still alive as part of a quest. I think some NPCs get revived by other NPCs if they're necessary for progress but I don't have the patience or means to test out every relevant Npc
You got the clock wrong. When the sun is on the right, that’s dawn (sun in the East). When the sun is on the left, it’s dusk (sun in the West). Top is midday; bottom is midnight.
Is this game anything like Monster Hunter? I saw them grabbing onto monsters and attacking parts in a fashion that similar, but I doubt its just like it. I just wonder if any of those types of controls would carry over
It really feels like it in spirit but no the controls aren’t quite the same. I loved dragons dogma 1 and have played MH all my life :) I think you’d like it
Forger tip: When you arrive in the town with the forger (Scrap Shop) you’ll likely get a mission to find an object. 2 people want that object so naturally the opportunity to create a fake is going to present itself. What I can tell you without spoiling who to give the fake to and who to give the original to is this: make sure you have a lot of gold on you before giving either of them the item(s). I only had around 5000g and it was not enough to unfuck the fuckup. I don’t know how much you need (because I ran out of money) but just to be safe I’d have 20k with you before turning it in. You may make the ‘right’ choice and not need it, but if you make the wrong choice like I did you’ll want to have lots of gold on you. Or, just run for it like I eventually did. But I don’t know what the consequences, if any, will be. I do know guards lose interest really quick though. Just got to get out of town for like a few minutes.
Not at all, these type of games are the games you want to support. If not when it comes to RPGs we only have crappy bethesda cut and paste handhold quest marker crap with no choices. Only issue with the game which clearly wont be patched is its low FPS. Which is to be expected seeing the amount of systems in place so it is a CPU not GPU bottleneck. Personally I can handle 30 or even 20 FPS< heck the best game ever made was sub 20 FPS, what I dont like is the unstable FPS.
@@oscaroska7613 Its a console game, ported to PC, and it uses high levels of CPU because all of the systems in place. People complaining dont know how to PC...
People are angry because of the bad optimisation and microtransactions (the microtransactions are rift crystals, wakestones and fast travel items all of which you can get without paying)
@@Rathadude pretty sure people didnt have any problems with the ps5 version, if you can deal with 30 fps then its probably fine, the pc port on the other hand seems to be an absolute dumbster fire, just watched moistcritical live trying his best for one hour to play the game and he just gave up after another crash. Its unfortunate cus the game seems amazing and i dont have a ps5 to play so now il have to wait a bit for them to fix it
@@Glirion__ i mean they pulled the same thing with dmc5 and that game is still beloved so although its an incredibly shitty thing to put in your game it isnt a dealbreaker per say, the crashes tho is a diferent story
Close all background processes, that includes web browsers, firewalls and anti viruses, you dont need any of that when you are playing video games Defrag your HDD/SDD Disk cleanup (use CCLeaner) Update drivers....or roll back drivers to previous versions Unpark all your cores Vsync on...or maybe off Change resolution You know general PC troubleshooting..... Stuff you should have learned to do using a PC for anything other than general web browsing. If you are complaining about a video game on PC and have not at least done all of the above, you should not be using a PC...need to git gud... Better yet, buy a console...You clearly cant into PC.
@@TheEdgyGary Yes defragmentation, sorting files so they are in the correct order and location to make the file usage economical. You still have to do it with an SSD you know to keep a PC working in optimal condition. Not as important as it was/Is for HDDs but still needed (on less occasion) for an SSD. Just because there are no moving parts does not mean data is not arranged perfectly for optimal read/write.
For anyone reading this comment chain: Do not defragment your SSD. Doing this will shorten your SSDs lifespan and will not provide any performance improvements.
Idk why people keep spreading the narrative they appeared out of nowhere for months I saw microtransactions listed under the game , doesn’t justify it but they didn’t appear overnight
The micro transactions are bad optics but honestly if you played the first game you know the game was designed this way, then some executive was like "hey what if we sell some of these rarer items". You can absolutely ignore them.
Definitely since its free copy from crapcom reviewers cant said too much about it I will get it when crapcom become more honest which is unlikely Great selling in game items for a single player thats why early game is pretty hard Now the game is out as expected performance is not good but still playable And also a joke people defending the 1 save slot Its 2024 crapcom should have the tech to do multi save slot
@@PrinceTrillianthe fact you can get these items in game is the reason why these Micro transactions existing is such a insult. They have no purpose to exist other than GREED.
@@ryproar11 THEY F DID REMOVE IT THAT'S WHY IM TRYING TO GET WORD OUT ! YOU JUST HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS THIS MOVE ! IF EVEN ARK OF MIGHT WICH IS FIRST LVL OF 3 IN THIS SKILL SHOW ME IT !
You find plenty of wakestones as rewards. Pawns typically give a wakestone as their little quest, which just involves traveling with them for a day usually. From chests as well, and you can buy them from some npcs for gold. The autosave isn't even that punishing.
They want you to pay real money for camp supplies and wakestones. $41 dollars of microtransaction garbage for stuff that should have just been in the $70 game.
@patricksullivan7887 No you can not. You can buy 2 art of metamorphosis with in game currency after that you have to purchase the microtransactions with real world money. A simple Google search will confirm this.
The game runs terribly, crashes often, and is full of microtransactions. Why do no content creators actually talk about this. Check the steam reviews, game is awful on pc. Pick it up in 6 months when the issues are fixed or it's on sale.
The microtransations i dont know, maybe they disabled them in the review versions and the performance and such im pretty sure rstatoskr reviewed the game on ps5 and ps5 has no performance / crash issues as far as im aware
What is the definition of full of microtransactions? All Capcom single player games have mx but they aren't required and you aren't blasted in the face to buy them.
Performance is the real issue, nobody reallly cares about the useless micros, if they did re4 wouldnt be overwhelmingly positive and you can literally buy the most important weapon upgrades on the shop in re4r
Capes look like an extremely bad mod. Extremely disapointing for such a big studio. And the performance is bad too. I didnt played yet, but i have a bad feeling.
