This tutorial is dedicated to showing you the 8 strand round braid. The more strands that a braid has, the more color combination and sequences it can offer. The round braid is the first in a series of tutorials on braiding paracord.
The 8 strand braid is also quite appropriate for plaiting over smaller objects such as those the size of a dowel rod. As such, it can be used to decorate handles of various objects, for example whip handles.

Hi Paracord Guild! I want to thank you for the tutorials you've posted; I would like to request that for a novice, like me, the tutorial is lacking some key information. If you could kindly show how to get started, how much length is necessary for a certain finished length, etc. I would be SOOOO grateful. I want to know how to make these, but I need a bit more info. Thanks again - keep it up! :)

What is the Paracord usage ratio ? # ft of Paracord = # ft of finished braid ?

Using multiple colors would make the demo easier to understand, as well as continuing for another pass.

Is it intentional that half way through the video, you pull the chords on the left side out of the order they were in?

I thought it was excellent education. Kinda wish it showed the whole project and shrouding a dowel for encouragement, but that would just be wrong since I need to take a swing at it on my own. Be brave buttercup! Gonna make a Brass Hame-topped cane with leather weave....I hope.

The result doesn't really look like you'd expect until all cords are engaged in the braid.

He should have kept going. Seeing that last loose cord at the end on the left didn’t make sense why it wasn’t incorporated into the work

What does the top/start of this looks like? Because it’s not shown in the video, people (especially newbies) will have to look for a link on how to do it. Since it’s not shown in the video, you can’t even try to guess how to do it, so that can be a little frustrating. (Note that this is just a suggestion for other videos, and not meant to be rude...I’m autistic and a very visual learner, and it’s just hard to do something where I can only see a very small part in the middle. But aside from that, you’re by far my favorite paracord videos to watch...you move your hands in ways to clearly show what you’re doing, you have a very soothing voice, and the background music is never too loud, or distracting in nature. So just a tip on that one issue, because I feel like other autistic paracordists may also enjoy your channel, and just need that extra bit of clarity. I think it would help most NTs too, but just my autie POV.) Thanks so much for all of your great videos!!😊🙏🏻

how many feet of paracord was used, and how long was the end product.

+DarkLoverHorse Hey! It is best to just make an inch or two of the braid and see how much you use. It depends on the tightening you apply to it. Mark

How ro finish such braid?
@Paracordguild
@Paracordguild Год назад
The Footrope knot would be the most common way of finishing- it works the same for all strand numbers.
