Thank you for this teaching, that really ministered to me. My husband passed away 15 years ago., the marriage was not a good one, despite my husband's strengths and charisma, my husband came from a very abusive past and unfortunately carried this over into our marriage. I have yet to ever process what I went through for all in all those years we were married. Since then I have not ever wanted to or considered marriage again. Why would I want to do that? However for the first time listening to this simple teaching, it has given me a different perspective. Not that I am going to look for a new husband now, but in general there is a lot more in marriage that I never got to experience or understand. I guess I got cheated of that in all those past years. We as a family not long ago, watched for king and country in concert, because my wife just adores their music. She was happy, affectionate and very thankful. She was glowing with happiness knowing she got to spend the day with her family. Also, her husband( ME), got to spend a long awaited gift card I received from her a year ago. Seeing her so happy brought joy to my heart. I'm not bragging, just explaining to my church family here that, we as husbands need to take time to do these little acts in order to impart good things. I must need to hear this more often as I am still growing and learning in several areas. I believe the area I need the most work is being "Proactive". Sadly, this is representative of one of the members of my family and her kids. My aunt doesn't work. She could, she just doesn't. Has lived in low-income housing almost her entire adult life, has no wealth to her name, and lives off gov't checks. But the one thing her husband, her adult son, and she herself do ALL the time is buy BRAND NEW cars every few years. It's such a poor mindset that all they think they can aspire to is the next new car to make them "look" rich.

And I'm not sure what happened, but a huge percentage of christian men in their 30's and under have not learned and/or were not taught this, and I see little difference between them and worldly men. It's really really sad. I pray for men whenever I think of it, and also we need more spiritual father figures so to speak helping raise up men. But it also has to do with men willing to submit to God and follow Christ, and I think, especially in the western culture, the pornographic hyper sexual culture is what has destroyed men so much and robbed them of growing spiritually and being blessed with this maturity in God. Essentially there has been an ahab type spirit where men have willingly forfeited their crown and their blessings for worldly pleasures, that the enemy has made so easily accessible, and then you have all these immature men who don't want to lift a finger and put in the effort and work for a real relationship because the counterfeits seem so easy, but it's destroying people. Last night at church we discussed the need for Christian discipleship. What you are doing is a great example of what is needed. Not just for men but women, too. Discipleship is sadly lacking in all our churches. No wonder Christians are having the problems they are having.
I always heard, “write what you want in a husband”. I never agreed with this because this felt “me” focused rather than “God” focused. No offense to anyone who has done this- no judgment either! I feel led to seek the kingdom of God and submit to the Holy Spirit, desiring to become the Proverbs 31 woman. I trust that He either will help me guard my heart for marriage for a man or for Himself until he returns. I cannot express my gratitude that now I know EXACTLY what to pray for in a husband and what to seek in a man. I’m the daughter of the Lord and should be treated as such; and if I get married, my husband will be the son of the Most High and should be honored as such. Thank you brother, and to all the brothers who model these characteristics for our boys who will become men one day; and to our girls so they will know what they should expect from a man! We cannot be perfect, but all things all possible with God (Matthew 19:26). Many blessings to all the marriages out there.

I recently got remarried coming out of a unequally spiritual marriage of 12 years. I realized through this teaching that I failed as a partner to my x wife but I knew that I failed. I worry that I will be judged for failing her spiritually.
It is never too late for you to pray to God with a contrite spirit, focusing on his holiness, and confess truthfully what you know you have done sinfully to him. I did it recently, despite being a Christian for over 2 decades. And it brings tears but also gratitude and praise for a God that is holy, yet also forgiving, merciful, and graceful. When he forgives, it lifts a huge burden from your shoulders and it liberates you from guilt and accusations that forces of evil use against you.
Repent and do better while you walk with christ he will teach you slowly and better you, we are humans failing is something we do until we are perfected in christ Jesus!!

As for someone who never had a father figure, male role model to look up to bc well my father didn't want me, I was sexualy abused by family members and friends as a child and was raised by strong women. This is amazing and new to me. I do need to work on my healing with Jesus bc its a little triggering when I hear the word "submit" and serving my future husband. I'll do w.e my Heavenly Father wants me to do. He saved me🥰 I'm actually half way there. I enjoy cleaning and staying with my baby at home raising him. I like cooking but I think the Lord needs to work on me more on that bc as a single mom, I dont like spending hours in the kitchen, I rather clean the bathroom😄 I want to play with my baby boy a lot more🙏🏼
While making a home is important you will find what works for you and your family! Find a man that will provide that like for you that you can stay home with your boy :)

However, I think its important to remember that Gen. 2:18 also calls a wife to take on the role of a helper. Neither husband or wife should reach a place of idleness, entitlement, or false expectations which may be the result of whatever worldly example of marriage that was modeled to us. Learning to be a Godly spouse requires patience and much humility.

Being the pastor of my family has been tricky lately. I have 4 step kids, and so I didn't get to be there since birth to guide and help them so woth minds of their own and not knowing much about God I've been trying and sometimes feel like they just listen so I shut up and don't take it seriously all the time and explain why I'm against some things that they don't understand so that has been a challenge for me. My wife is a believer as well, but she is a more private person, so I've caught myself trying to get her to have the same style as me. I could learn to be more proactive and take more initiative. Growing up father wasn't present and he ran away from responsibilities. Not a good example to draw from . But I'm learning to be different. And I could learn to be more patient with my wife. Especially since we come from completely opposite backgrounds but with God all things are possible and I will continue with his help to do better and perform my role the way he commands us too . So I'm a wife to my husband, I do my own housework, I raise our 4 kids and I work full time. I hardly ever have time for anything I enjoy and I do it with love. In the last year, he says I never have good things to say about him but in all honestly I do everything at home. Eg: I raced home from work to tend to our sick baby daughter who has severe flu. We have a baby vac that attaches to the vacuum cleaner to clear her nasal passages. She was so ill she couldn't breath and when I looked for the vacuum cleaner to sort her out - it was at my husband's work. I phoned him for help as I was very concerned to be informed he will be working late and after that call with a screaming baby in the background, I saw or heard from him for the first time when he pulled into the driveway 2 hrs later. He says he knew there was nothing he could've done to help and that's ehy he didn't do anything further to help. Am I unreasonable? I do all washing, folding, dishes, kids bathing and feeding, all kids lifting, pet care, cooking, cleaning up after dinner, packing lunches for the next day. Advice please!!!
My wife did all those things, she did maybe 90% of everything. I was a very bad husband. I love my wife since we met with my whole heart but my actions didn't show it. Our marriage almost ended because I had a veil before my eyes, I thought I did my part until she broke down and said she doesn't feel anything for me anymore. She missed the man she fell in love with. It was like lightning struck my brain and my heart. My heart was ripped into pieces. Then i realized I did that to her but slowly through the years. Something happened in me which I can't explain. It's as if God reverted me back to guy she met. I now do everything she did but with joy in me and i try to let her recover and heal. She needs the rest. I pray that God will keep this Spirit in me, so that I'll never go back to the way i was. Things are going much better between us. But I still hope with an aching heart that she'll love me again fully like she used to when our love was at its peak, and I'm hoping for even more. Maybe tell your husband that you're at break point. Have weekly sit downs where you talk to each other about what you liked about the others behavior and what you would like each other to improve on. This is a sit down where you truly listen to each other, no defense or offense. I'll pray for you and your husband.
Oh my goodness! You don’t realize how much I needed to hear the two things you mentioned at the beginning about how I as the man don’t need to be “more spiritual”. That gave me questions and doubt about myself that I’m “not good enough for a Christian woman”. When she might know the Bible more than me. And the same feeling applies about finances and providing. I WANT to provide for a woman so badly, I wish I could support a woman where she never has to work a day in her life. But God never blessed me with a high enough paying job to where I could do that. I make enough where the bills would be paid. She’d have a roof over her head and that she would always be fed. But I don’t have enough for vacations or many days off. I have to work so much to keep up. Both of these weighed on my heart for many years, and made me feel so inadequate as a man. To which I WANTED to be better for whoever God has for me.

No offense, but honestly, as a woman, your "friend" sounds a little manipulative, and it's probably just insecurity fueling it, but still, if she didn't recognize you then, but now is interested when you found someone, that should maybe raise a red flag to you. But at the end of the day, you need to take it all to prayer and ask God what he thinks of the people in your life. Cuz me personally, as a woman of integrity, even if a man is just seeing someone I back off out of respect. But often women who want someone just because another woman likes him, it's big red flags for me on that person. But obviously I don't know your situation personally, but I know God knows it all.

Vlad i am single i am praying for my proverbs 31 woman and i am trying to be a timothy man i am 49 years old never married i pray over my bed to keep my mind from sexual sin to stay pure in every part of life and serve the lord to the best of my ability. I love the lord with my whole heart i just missing a wife . Should i pursue this woman god has showed me in my prayer time.
These lessons are so good. I'm 37 and I'm still single. I think there's a reason for why God hasn't blessed me with a godly wife yet. I still lack maturity, I still need to build all of that in me. Godly spouse is not something that God gives out like candy in Halloween. If you're not ready for that, God will not bring it to pass. That's hard to accept but it's the truth.

Please pray for me🙏🥰😭I shake with trauma thinking about him, I gave everything, cleaned everything, cooked, worked, Got evil for good, filled my yard with junk so I would see in the storage and garage, he had sold everything valuable from my parents, while living free, My bitterness, try to forgive, heal, abuser,in every way, trade, while he was slandering me, saying I was the abuser, harem of girls to feel sorry for him, living like a single man, did nothing but try to ruin me on every level, haven’t seen him 2 months, the thief came to kill steal and destroy, full of demons, didn’t lift a finger, pay for anything, expected everything then punished, said he’s not done with me
Prayed for you sis and God knows your heart and how to deal with this situation. Please trust that these trials come to teach you that your dependence needs to be fully on Christ and no one else. Jesus wants above all to save you eternally into His kingdom. Many will try to focus your view on dismay and burden of the temporary life and its problems but if you keep your eye on Jesus, trusting in His goodness, guidance, and grace.. you will find peace to meet every circumstance of this life and be fitted to walk with Him in glory. I pray that you continue to place your life in His hands for safe keeping.
