Tip #5. If I may add a little to this tip. If you are not attending Oggie Boogie Bash, I would avoid both parks on those days. Because when the DCA crowd leaves the park at 6, most of them will park hop over to Disneyland and it will be PACKED! Like this is not fun anymore packed.
@@stephaniewhittington64 I haven’t decided if I’m going to include them in the crowd update, or as a separate video. But they should show up somewhere!
Going for daughters 3rd birthday for a week starting September 30th!!! We can’t wait! Wife and daughter’s first time was last Christmas so excited to be back and in spooky season!!!
I'm going in September this year so I am extra excited for the Halloween food video this year! Especially since we know there is an all new version of the grey stuff!!
There was always prep work. Just so many fewer people did the prep work. Those of us that have been planning since the dawn of time had it made when no one else planned. We went in there and totally crushed it while people walked around aimlessly, clueless that FastPass existed or how to use it. Now, Disney is pushing Multi Pass, they’re pushing deals and offers, added reservations, all to cram the parks and squeeze every dollar they can out of it. And I don’t begrudge them functioning like a business. But their efforts have made more people aware that they are woefully ill-prepared for this vacation. That’s led to an increase of people who are competing for the same things, and it’s created the state we currently find ourselves in.
Question - What would be your suggestion for rope drop with Haunted Mansion? Our plan right now, is to rope drop Space Mountain (going 9-15), get a LL for Jones, around 9 go do ROTR and hit other rides as we can. How and When would you do Haunted Mansion? Thank you for all your videos. I have been watching and making notes. Only going to be at Disneyland one day while visiting my son in San Diego. Want to make sure we maximize the morning because we cant stay late.
Your plan sounds good. As far as Haunted Mansion, you don’t get a choice. You’re depending on the whim of the boarding group you get from virtual queue. You’ll get a virtual queue. They drop at 7 AM and you can still join it right now (7:45), so they aren’t disappearing super fast. But you don’t get to control when your boarding group gets called. Once it does get called, you’ll have an hour to ride it, so you can determine whether, say, you go get breakfast/lunch first or not. That sort of thing.
@@lisabostrack24 Haha. I actually looked at dates when it dropped last year and it was basically the same time. And Halloween started two weeks later then.
Will be there September 1st, the day before Labor Day. Someone had shared that it wasn’t too bad last Labor Day weekend. Got Storytellers character dining the day before. Would be awesome if I bumped into ya.
I love your videos!! You give such great tips, thank you so much. I’ll be going to the parks this fall and your advice has been so helpful. Could you please make a video on Oogie Boogie Bash tips ?
Since I'm going during the week a Monday thru Thursday in October. Do you think it'll be less busy or just as crowded as a weekend? Going October 7th-10th
@@SoCalDisneyDadDang. That's good to know. I'll mentally prepare myself for crowds. It was the only time I could get off from work to go. Illstill have fun either way
Thank you so much for always keeping us updated. We plan on going in September so the tip about the Oogie Boogie Bash(for us who dont have tickets) was really helpful. It was something that I didnt keep in mind. We can tell how much work you and Amy put in the videos. So simple, informative, to the point, and fun! You guys are doing amazing with each video.
We're going from September 13-15, no OBB tickets but plan to make the best of it regardless! Haven't been at Halloween time since I was a kid, so excited!
hey traver!! thanks for the video, i'm planning a september trip :) do you know what parade (if any) will be running in disneyland during the fall season?
Hello i went to Disneyland last year on Labor Day weekend and I had a great time me and the rest of my party had a good time and we used genie plus but with watching the video you scared me because we have plans to go on Labor Day weekend so should i be scared and can you give us a genie plus update. P.S love the videos❤❤
Hi Traver! I was originally planning on going late August 2025 based on your tip of going before oogie boogie and with kids back at school. Given the changes to Halloween season what would you recommend? Would late July/ early august be better given magic key and maybe not so hot? Would love your thoughts. Thanks!
@@ErinW-o7f The last two years, Saturdays in July have been some of the best days to visit given the Magic Key blockout dates. That being said, I’ve heard some horror stories about Mondays. Partly because of the Monday-Thursday ticket deals they had this year. I guess a Friday-Sunday trip in July might be the new best Summer time to visit?
Hi Traver, Thank you so much for your videos! You and your family are adorable. We are planning a late September trip and I was wondering if you know the Fantasy Faire theatre specific show times for each presentation; Beauty and the Beast, and Tangled? The website and app only show times and not which one is showing at that time. Thanks for any info you can provide!
if you think 88 is hot just know its going to get way WAY hotter. im from socal and when i was a kid back in the 70s and 80s summer was the hottest season of the year, that is no longer true. get ready for another 100 degree Halloween because it aint gonna cool off anytime soon
I'll be there for OBB in September and was wondering if they still light up cars land when's it going on? It's my son's favorite movie so I was hoping he would still get to see the switch over?
@@23LoveLindsey Yes! It’ll still be lit up and decked out for Halloween. And you can still meet the Halloween versions of the characters like Count Mater and Red as a Clown.
I know the bash is limited crowded event But how packed does it get? We went to mickeys not so scary Halloween last year in Florida and it wasn’t that bad we got in all the rides and got candy
Ride lines tend to be low-ish, but some of the more popular ones like Guardians is still sitting at 30 minutes. If you want to see crowds for the other things you can check out my video from this year: Oogie Boogie Bash 2024 Ultimate Guide | EVERY Character & Candy Trail ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l0fnXq9KlJc.html
@@bestdaysahead921 Yes. In fact, that’s the only way I’d recommend doing it. One person should be in charge of doing it for everybody. You just need all 10 tickets linked to the account of the person who is in charge of managing it.
Thank you for the amazing tips! So excited to come visit Disneyland for Halloween season 🎃 Do you think we can expect crowd levels going down in the Disneyland park when Oogie Boogie Bash hours starts over in California Adventure? We are planning on going on an Oogie Boogie Bash day but we only have tickets for the Disneyland park this day and I was wondering if the Disneyland park will feel deserted once the event start on the other side. Thank you for the great video!
@@eliwhittemore Mid-September is probably the best time you could go for Halloween. It’s a few weeks after start so the hype isn’t as big for the locals. And it’s not Fall Break time yet (October).
Man been working out in Texas with 105+ weather all summer now we’re at the 90s Can’t wait to take a vacation in 3 weeks with the fam and enjoy the good weather lol
Thank you for the tips! My family and I will be there 10/30-11/1, what can I expect weather and crowd-wise that late in October? I was hoping school breaks would be over by then. 😕
We're going to OBB this year! Cries in Canadian - it was over $900 for the four of us for early Oct!. Still, very excited as I've never been during Halloween!
I go for my birthday every year, which is in mid-October. I have always seen World of Color when there. Now watch - this year it won't! 😁 love how you have your chapters listed on here! You do an amazing job.
Just popping in to say a BIG thank you! Just returned from our first Disney vacay in over a decade and, thanks to your strategy and advice videos, we had such an easy, efficient and fun trip! It was a suuuuper crowded day and we were easily able to fit in all our favorite rides following your guides (some even twice!). Thanks so much for making our day special ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow Disney did an amazing job on the Halloween 🎃 merch this year and they also did an amazing job on the seasonal foods I’m really excited to try the ice cream 🍦 with the gummy worms 🐛 in it yummy 😋 looks so delicious
As a Las Vegan, we get Nevada day off which is the last Friday of every October and gives us a 3 day weekend. This year it's Oct. 25th and a lot of us travel at that time. Went to Disney 2 years ago during that weekend and saw a lot of Vegas people there as well!
Me and my family will be going the week of September 15. I’m kind of disappointed that there are so many rides closed but I will make the best of it. My grandson was seven last time we took him this time. He is 17 and his girlfriend is coming along with us, very excited. Keep up the good videos and the good info really helps. Thank you.
I visited with my family for the first time this week and we had the best time thanks to your videos. In three days, we did 17 rides in Disneyland, including Rise, and ALL the rides in DCA, most of them multiple times!
We didn’t know about Oogie Boogie Bash last year and had to leave the park early. We weren’t too upset because we were already exhausted and our feet hurt.
Those dates should be fine, with Halloween season starting on August 23rd, most people will likely wait until after it begins. If you're looking for the best possible dates with low waits, I'd say the dates you have are about as good as it's going to get.
I once went to Disneyland on Super Bowl Sunday thinking that it wouldn’t be crowded, boy was I wrong. That was either at the end of January or the beginning of February and it was super hot and crowded.
Superbowl Sunday used to be a great day to visit but then people figured that out. We used to have passes when our daughters were little and used to go on that day every year until it changed.
I saw a lot of Mom’s with their kids, I guess Dads stayed home to watch the game. Thinking since it was mid winter it would be chilly, I only brought long sleeve tops, wow, it was way too hot for long sleeve tops. I guess if a NFL team from Southern California was playing in the Super Bowl, it might not be so busy.
I’ll be there Sept 2-4, looking forward to cooking! They have a Dine Event in Tomorrowland Terrace on the 2nd, but it seems to be basically a small box sandwich kind of thing. But much for the $70 price. Does anyone have any experience with it?
@@DavidHodginsPhotography I recall someone saying they’ve eaten there and it’s larger than it sounds. But I don’t have direct experience. Scroll through the comments on my “Expensive things at Disney” video from a week or two ago. I think that’s where they talked about it.
We are going Labor Day and two more days after that! I’m a little nervous for the weather now that you mention it! Will be getting a fan for my husband thanks for the tip! But then again we get a high of 105 constantly in the summer here in Texas so hopefully the crowds aren’t too crazy 😅
Oh, you’ll be fine if you’re used to Texas. I only mention it in the video because most people think September or October is going to be cooler. Most Northern states the temps ARE dipping by then. 50s/60s. But we don’t start dipping until end of November. The last two years in a row it’s been in the 90s on the first day of Christmas at Disneyland in early to mid November.
Last year we went on the first week of August and it was soooo hot! We had planned to try so many snacks and foods but we barely tried anything, we were not even hungry because of the heat! Our fall break this year will be in November, so I guess it really varies a lot. Maybe in the US is earlier though. As always, thank you for the video!
@@MBFF-if7yu Yeah, for us it’s October. There’s another at the end of November for Thanksgiving so most breaks are at the beginning of October to space out the time off.
@@danechebert4193 It’s hit or miss. I’ve gone on Halloween and it was a great day. And other years it can be busy. I think it depends on when Halloween falls. Being a Thursday, it will likely be average. First week of November is generally a good time to go because it’s between seasons. Especially with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening on November 15th, a lot of folks will choose to wait two weeks.
Question: Hi Traver & Fam! Me again… our family will be visiting Disney soon (Nov) and it’ll be 4 of us + grandma. I noticed you guys travel with grandma sometimes as well. What’s the best hotels for an (odd number) party of 5? Thanks!
@@marlastockley9455 The Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel is affordable and has rooms that sleep 5. Free shuttle to the park. We like it. In addition to that one, there’s quite a few hotels in this video that offer suites, but they are a bit more expensive: Best HIDDEN GEM Hotels Near Disneyland | Value, Moderate, and Luxury ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r02I6BlcLmA.html
For sure. School dictates our summer vacation dates, too. Which is a bummer now because they are starting a week late this year, which means ending a week late too. We usually got out 10ish days before Memorial Day and could vacation before most schools got out and avoid the major holiday. Now we are going to be lined up with everyone else.
Thanks Traver! Please update us on your OBB video if Guardians still allows you to use 2 lightning passes that day. 😅 hoping it does 🤞thanks for the content!
