I hope you enjoyed today's video. Check out the Mega Motivation Top Time Management Tips Playlist for even more inspiration ➡️ cli.re/Time-Tips Thank you for watching! ♥️ Love, Jennifer
Such an inspirational video and wonderful principles to add to one's life if not already doing them. They certainly will make life more organized and your mind at peace which we all need.
My mom raised 12 children. Our home was emaculate, she served 3 meals a day and she was always, always pleasant and kind. After I was married and had a couple of children, I asked her, " mom, how do you do all you do?" She answered, " You just do it."
....you had a beautiful mom in more than one way....I've known women like this in my life...I've always found those women to be inspirational .... the influence of women in our past, the respect and honor of such women, we should spend time with, have our daughters around them...blessings to your mama
(Melanie here) I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but I have reached so many of my life goals that I have to come up with some new ones, I guess! I have a happy marriage and raised 3 wonderful daughters who I enjoy spending time with. I got my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology after my kids were older and work PT as a therapist. I absolutely love watching my grandchildren also. I am doing some writing - mostly about answers to prayer and how I have experienced walking with God over the years.
Ephesians 5:15-16 "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time because the days are evil. " This is my favorite quote. I make the best use of my time when I remember how Jesus died for me and saved me from my sins. He redeemed me and I now live with a purpose. We are called to live for God, to live as children who have been redeemed. Thank you for all of your inspiration. All of your quotes and helpful hints are very helpful.
So true. My girls always wanted horses and we always pushed the thought away but last year started slowly taking steps to secure our property for horses. We studied everything about horses as well in that time. Many people said we couldn't do it. We didn't know how to own horses. Well, we got two horses a month ago and we are learning as we go. We just needed to DO it instead of saying oh no ...we could never.
It’s totally true that many people don’t understand how much work goes into creative activities! I have occasionally had people say, “ Oh, you sew… could you hem these pants ( alter this dress, make this costume, etc.)” without realizing how much work they are asking me to do! We tend to underestimate the work others do, unfortunately.
I love this video so much. I really enjoy your straight forward suggestions and your kind voice. The best advice I ever received was from my husband’s grandmother. She said, “never go to another room or up/down the stairs without something that needs to be moved. In other words, don’t go empty handed.”
A professor in college had us do a "Time Study." We kept track of our time for 24-hours. College was a long time ago, but I think about doing a time study for my life today. I think it would be eye-opening.
“Music is the art of sound and time” was the very first thing I learned in my undergraduate music theory class. It changed how I thought about my craft as a vocalist.
Thank you for the quotes and inspiration. A wise older woman told me that time is like a roll of toilet paper; the closer you get to the end the faster it unravels. Making my list and putting the tasks in its time block was life changing. It's was so important I understood my energy rhythm.
I loved this video Jennifer! At 75, I still use a planner to keep on track ,(my favourite being the “Clever Fox “ planner). With your inspiration, I wrote every quote you used in this video into each week of my planner ,under the main heading “this week’s main goal”. Planning makes my life possible as I have a very large home and property with horses, dogs, and chickens and I live alone. I do have some help from an adult son and hire someone to do the heavy stable chores, but still my days are busy! Many thanks for all you do to help us set and maintain high standards in our lives! Cheers from Susan
You are an inspiration to me! I just turned 70 and I have taken time management courses through university yet my “ADD” still causes me trouble! I have to be honest, I used a Franklin planner while I was in corporate America but the Clever Fox was unknown to me until just now. Perhaps I should investigate this? My creative mind which is constantly full of great ideas can cause some problems with my desired accomplishments. Thank you for posting Susan!
Sounds like you are already in heaven Susan. You are an awesome life participant! I wish you many healthy years of living. I aspire to do better with my time management each day. A work in progress, I have two procrastinating parents that I learned some bad habits from, but I will do better! People like you and Jennifer help give others that drive to live a more fulfilled life. Thank you both! 💕
Great advice. I do journaling and have written my autobiography, however not published. I’m guilty though of waiting for inspiration for doing my oil painting, lol. I constantly make lists and have been doing this for years. I have already started my lists for Christmas. It is very satisfying to cross off items on my lists. I’m 82, and time is so very valuable. 👍👍👍🇨🇦
Me too. I have wasted so much talent. Friends tell me I’m talented at painting and I can see it, yet I have wasted so much time not doing it. I even wasted opportunities as a young student to work for magazines doing art. I have found now at the age of 39 that self sabotage is something that we don’t even know we are doing to ourselves. I often dwell on the what did I do this? And what if I had done this? But no more. I love my family and I know I’m at the place God intended for me to be. Now I just have to DO SOMETHING.
@@TheDailyConnoisseur you have inspired me because I just jumped in and began a new painting today. When I sometimes go back and read parts of my story , I wonder how I had time to write, paint, do the usual housework, etc.and raise three wonderful children while working full time. I believe my time management was a lot better back then. Since I retired, I usually say to myself, ( whether painting or anything else) I’ll do it tomorrow. I have to remember why we call today “the present” and perhaps tomorrow might not be an option, lol.
@@sogno_di_carta6430 I guess the best thing to do is to not dwell on the past and go for it now! Follow your passion and your heart and use your God given talent even if it is just a hobby for now. Good luck!
These are great tips Jennifer. I love lists as well. A tip I learned from my sister is to keep a list of chores that need to be done but you always put off. Not the daily or weekly things you always do, but the ones that you never get to (for me things I hate to do like cleaning blinds, wiping baseboards etc). Break them down into small time chunks, i.e, ‘Clean blinds in the bedroom’ or ‘wipe baseboards in the bathroom’. Then when you have 15 or 30 minutes pick one and just do it! You can put them on slips of paper in a jar and pull them out at random. Doing this is a much better use of time than picking up your phone and scrolling Instagram 😀
I needed this. My kids are at the fair with their Dad and I got sucked into videos! Off to do my laundry while I continue to listen; an investment in a smooth week ahead for my family.
I think we also need to take time to rest. I have a friend whose husband took the kids for the day so she could have the day off and all she did was clean, do laundry, etc and she was exhausted when they got home. She should have gone to get a massage or something. There is no shame in rest and relaxation
I thought all of the quotes and tips were excellent but the best for me was the idea of investing time vs spending time. No matter what anyone's goal is, if they invest time in that thing every single day, be it 10 minutes or 5 hours, they will be one step closer to achieving their dream.
@@elainezanavich9337 I'm so sorry, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. The past 2 or 3 months I've been making some changes inspired by these videos and Jennifer's books, that, while they don't take the pain away, have helped make my quality of life better.
“Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death”- Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Matthew 6 is the cure for anxiety! Read the whole thing every day. This is the last two verses: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:33-34 CSB
Excellent advice!! Also, how rude for someone to say they could have written a book (like you) or started a RU-vid channel. They're obviously jealous of your achievements and are actually embarrassing themselves by criticizing you. Well done !!!
Love the Churchill quote. I just talked with my husband about worrying and how it causes us to spend time in a place that isn’t our current reality. I have been encouraged by your message today!
"I studied abroad - I could have written that book!" - how breathtakingly rude!! Not to mention deluded! You're very polite - I would definitely ask: "well, why didn't you?!"
Jennifer putting us through the school of hard knocks! The Talkers: "I could've written that book!" The Doer (Jennifer): "Yes, but you didn't." I loved that!! But seriously, this was a great encouragement. I told my husband about the Steven King quote, he paused and asked Google the question - How many books Steven King has written? (He already knew the answer) 69 books! Great topic.
Love is the key. You have love and it makes you serious about it. When we have love in our hearts, all sorts of (healthy) love, it leads us strong enough to be active. When we love to love (God, life, nature, beings) it is even deeper. When we love to love in the name of God it is , I think, the most powerful fuel for human being. Thats the phase in which things go so smooth, with blessings and energies from above, literally miraculous, that day after day looks more and more like poetry. I don't know how to describe it. And it starts by constant thinking of God and His creation all around us, by gratitude for all of it, and our conciousnes grows and then our love. And our own heart transforms us safely , being attached to Him, Who is Life.
If I don’t get enough sleep at night the next day will not be as efficient. To start the day before sunrise just makes all the difference. I start my day kind of slowly and gradually increase the pace. Working from a list is very good for me. The list will contain a balance of work and relaxation. I do best in a quiet environment free from distractions. A great resource for Time Management is Brian Tracy. Thanks 🙏 Jennifer! Days fly by at my age. It’s scary!
I work full time plus OT and I love my job. I hire cleaners so I can have a clean house. And I live in a condo so no yard work is needed. I don’t enjoy cleaning or yard work and it frees me up to invest my time in things I care about
In order to better manage my time, I decided over the weekend to take a month long social media break so I don’t get as easily distracted and I can get my work done!! It’s helped so far:) I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend Jennifer!! Thank you for the video!!💗
What a perfect video for Labor Day weekend! I love it that you opened with Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland because it is one of my favorite childhood books, and I totally agree with the Mad Hatter. I choose to invest my time with reading mind-stimulating books, learning coding, and practicing piano, not wasting my time on reality programs or scrolling endlessly and mindlessly on social media. Yes, we need to control procrastination-that’s the word I thought about the whole time! Just stop thinking that you’ll do it-start doing it!
Some people think that when they worrying they do something. It is toxic. When you need to worry, do it. But do not think that you started doing something with the situation just because you are worrying!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your tips. I habitually waste time while drinking my tea in the mornings. Before I know it, most of the morning is gone (weekends). Having a routine is important to me. I recently quit my full-time job to focus on my own business and am trying to find my groove. This is useful and practical advice!
I am reading About Time - A history of Civilization of Civilization in Twelve Clocks by David Rooney. This is a deeply fascinating topic. Man has not always thought of time in the way we do today. Various timekeeping methods have changed our perspective on time. Take a look at this book !
Loved loved LOVED the idea of investing vs. spending your time! Makes me think of how Rory Vaden talks about investing time on things that will buy you MORE time in the future with his book Procrastinate on Purpose. SO honored to be in Dawn's collab with you! Your demeanor on video is always so lovely. You are funny and classy and calm all at the same time. I love it. :)
At 55 I finally hired a cleaning person and she and her partner come every 2 weeks or month…. It’s the greatest gift I’ve given myself and I’m employing others.
Jennifer, you are quite amazing! Keep up the great work and never allow anyone to dismiss what you have achieved. Jealousy sounds like "I could have done that" ;)
I know. When people say I could have done that too, they are devaluing your work to put value on themselves because they truly feel devalued. And that is not only rude but it’s hateful. As someone who likes writing I can tell you that it is not easy to write. So no. Not anyone could write. I haven’t read your books but I’ll get me copies as soon as I go back to work.
I have always appreciated all you do for us, Jennifer. The quality of our time so often spent together gleams with your care, thoughtfulness, preparation and inspiring material. I know you are an excellent teacher and make the most of your gift to your subscribers. We benefit. Hopefully we send spiritual support and gratitude your way, as we try to incorporate your shared life lessons and skills as we see our lives differently and more beautifully.
This was such an insightful video Jennifer, well done! So many great quotes and points. On a side note, I’d love to hire someone to do the talking for me so I can just do the visuals and edit 😂
So happy I found your channel! Was looking for info on intermittent fasting , when I came across your video. Love all your videos and learning a lot from it . Looking forward to read your books ! Thank you ❤️
Jennifer, I appreciate theses strategies. I would love a video on time management with all the interruptions of young children. I was better at getting things done before kids. Do you use a babysitter or mother’s helper so you can focus on your work? Thanks
This video/topic makes me want to invest in my time, but sometimes I just feel so lazy most of the time...I do house chores but I need to figure out why I don’t work on my side hustle or even just read or meditate which I used to do before! I am blaming it on my age LOL. Thanks for the motivation!
This video has so many great points. Thank you for sharing. Just do it! Something that stayed with me from my college writing class is that there is no such thing as good writing, just good rewriting, over and over again. Most importantly, thank you for emphasizing the importance of work, and how much of it is behind all the success. Your daily dedication is so inspiring!
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for excellent of time management tips. Investing time in training your children how to do tasks in preparing them with life skills is an excellent investment. Our children all start their own businesses and live at home; understanding how to spend their time between business, meal creation, ministry opportunities and nurturing their relationships is an ongoing work in progress for them and all of us. Listening to podcast on Bitcoin while gardening is my investment in health and understanding my son’s business. Thanks for your time sharing this today. All the best, Julie 🌷
Great quotes and really great advice that I need to take to heart. I'm guilty of thinking of all the ideas and not following through. Also "but you didn't" is one of my mom's most favorite sayings. And she does say it out loud, lol. Thanks Jennifer!
Jennifer, I always enjoy your videos in this collab. You are so introspective and cause us to think deeper. I really enjoyed hearing all the quotes. Thank you.
Thank you for this well executed, well done reminder that we can indeed take better control of our time. The quotes were wonderfully inspiring; thank you for bolstering your already excellent contact with those wise words! Beautifully done and well worth the time invested in watching!!
🌹Hi Jennifer. You're a true inspiration. You remind me to be present in my life, w class- even cowgirl class! God bless you n your family. Btw I had Stephen King on flights when I flew New England. He's a gracious gentleman!
Hello! Thank you for your videos, they’ve been incredibly helpful. With the holidays approaching, could you please do a breakdown of time management when hosting not only a lunch or dinner, but also guests spending the night(s)? As much as I love hosting, it’s such an exhausting and overwhelming process that I either don’t want to host or am too tired to enjoy any of it. I’ve watched all the hosting videos of yours I could find, but I’d love more specifics of how to prepare the week before, three days, day of, etc. Thank you!!
❤ Jennifer, would you please do a video on your work as a writer....it would be so fascinating to see where and how you write, how you plan ,organize and schedule your work and most of all where you draw inspiration from! Blessings 💞🌹🕊️
Hi! The part about investing your time is such a great way to look at it. Meal prep has been my biggest challenge during the pandemic. We are cooking even more now, since we are not still eating out yet. I realized this weekend that I need a better approach to it to alleviate my stress level and being tired. Thank you!
I also studied abroad and found it to be life changing. If I were to say to myself ”I could have done that”, it would have been out of surprise. I am constantly surprised that others would have interest in my life experiences. I am not realizing that I have a lot to teach or share. Thank you for sharing this. You have given me the impetus to explore how I may invest my time in a way that shares my life experiences and knowledge with others.
I enjoyed the quotes and definitely the way you put things into words! Thank you for sound wisdom, when my Dad passed away I was so griefed my bestie was in my heart and head , And my Mom and I clashed . So not only was I missing Dad My Mom was in my home telling me what to do or not to do; I was so uncomfortable ! Then she past away but on her death bed " said I could of been nicer to you sorry! I said to her It was ok I became who Iam today because of how you treated me; and I never want to treat others any way nice! But I really love the how you said " Everyone needs to leave me alone - unless they wanna join me and be pleasant! Need those words on a canvas! Thank you and All for your hospitality and Smarts! Lovingly blessed cause of all ! 😊
I know it's over a year since you posted this. This video totally resonated with me as luckily it came up on my algorithm this morning. Thanks, Jennifer.
I’m a young mom (24) to 3 boys under 4. I used to waste sooo much time but I really don’t have that luxury anymore. I have goals and aspirations apart from motherhood that I want to achieve. I’ve started waking up at 4:30am in order to get the most important things checked off (exercise, scripture, and getting ready for the day) so that I can focus on my kids while they are awake. When they nap and go to bed for the night, I can work on my goals. We all have the same 24 hours in the day. How we use them is vital to the success we want to see in our lives!
I let out a little chuckle 🤭 when you said that some people would tell you that they could have done that!! Now I hate that they could have hurt your feeling but I laughed at the ridiculous of their statement. We all could have been a lot of things except for the fact we didn’t do anything to make it happen!! Thank you, Jennifer!!
It’s so good to hear from you ladies who know how to get things done! Would you ever talk about how to get over wanting to do something but feeling like no one really believes in you or is really rooting for you? I don’t know how it was for you, and for some people that wouldn’t affect them but for others it really does and we may just continue to bumble along
This was definitely inspirational for me. I really struggle with time management, but am quite hesitant (perhaps even resistant!) to implementing a timed schedule, as I find it so boring and creativity-killing. But these tips - these I can use!
i am not a Mother, i am a wife (among other jobs, none of them or less or more, not the point here, LOL!) but when i see other RU-vidrs who are young mommies i often wonder do they give their children this or that to help them out. my Mom was great at that, at the time i might have been blah blah (not happy, in other words) but when i look back now as an adult i realize she was helping me in the long run, teaching me, molding me, be able to "time manage", it was huge. thank you Mom, you rock!! ( ;
This was so good, Jennifer! You shared and spoke so eloquently on a topic that I usually find to be so dry. I was actually sad when the video was over. This would be such a good idea for one of your courses! I would definitely invest my time into that! ❤️
You are my efficiency inspiration. Calm efficiency. I love the standards you have set for yourself, and that you are sharing them with your viewers. Thank you!! P.S. Your online efficiency class was fantastic.
Encouraging and convicting. Thank you, Jennifer! This was timely for me, especially as we start a new school year and every routine in our lives gets altered and fine-tuned.
