Thanks for sharing. Much more in depth video about colours. In the last part of this video, you coloured spheres, which triggered my thoughts on geodesic spheres. The latter will colour very well with your UV option, AND uses 30% less memory. There is a "shapes" extension with geodesic objects which I often use for drawing low-poly balls, bubbles etc. The only drawback with this extension is that you cannot specify the degree of spherosity (ie increase the number of facets). The other snag with the geodesic shape is that it has no poles or equator to reference for positioning and slicing.
Hi Justin! Thank's for all the tutorials, you are making a great job! Do you know about any sketchup command to remove all the materials from an object or grup?
Thank you for a lot of inspiring videos! Do you have any good advise if I have a cylinder shape and I want to ad a patterned texture to it ? - I tried with projected material and it works for a certain wiev but not all way around the cylinder?
As a texture or as actual geometry? If you're trying it with a texture, I'd maybe try the extension Thru-Paint - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RoVHjmUBUNE.html
How can you sample the texture? Every time I go to the eye dropper tool, it just samples whatever color it is on, not the actual texture. I am running on a mac. Is there a difference?
Sounds like you've applied materials both to the outside of the group and the individual faces. Try clicking into the group, then trying to sample materials
