Children need to experience love expressed between parents during their upbringing. This is mainly due to the fact that parents represent the first line of what ultimately shape children's perception of what intimate relationship is all about. So as parents, you have to make it right, not just because of the natural affinity we as humans tend to have for love, but to also be an example for the children in the household. Whether the father is present in the children's lives or not, if love is absent, as parents, you'll likely miss in whatever value you might've wanted to instill in them .

Thank you for your input. It is very much important for parents to set the example and be good role models for their children because this is their first contact in life and whatever treatment they get at home or see from how both parents treat each other can either make or mar their perspective on relationships and life itself.

This video is 100 percent truth about what the daughters need from a father. Just don’t leave out the father needs to be mentally, physically ,emotionally, and financially healthy and stable. On a side note: since it was brought up..I would need more backstory on exactly why the “friends wife” left? I’m not a feminist and the real men don’t play the victim in the woman leaving. What did he do in the relationship to warrant her to keep leaving and returning to leave again? Was there violence or abuse of any kind to the wife or children? Not just emotional and physical violence but also financial violence can happen. It takes 2 to make the relationship work. They both need to be mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually stable to make it work. Both of them.

I don't agree with the idea that if as parents you neglect your boy child in their upbringing he will somehow find his way in the end. What does that even mean? Boy children need as much parental guidance as girl children do. Edit: The issue you lament on of men taking advantage of younger girls could be an example of lack of parental guidance of those men in their upbringing. We really need to pay attention to our boy children and instill positive societal values in them at an early age. A lot of the collective issues we have as Africans can be resolved if we put more emphasis in raising our boy children.

You are very much correct. The boy child is just as important and the girl child. Not all boy child manage to “find their way”.
