Regarding point #2, Dr. Chung could you someday make a video on how you instruct your patients on HOW TO POOP (posture, breathing, bracing, how to bear down). It is an embarrassing topic, that most people cant bring themselves to ask their own doctors in person.

I’m on the cusp of getting fired. I’ll be ok for a while managing the pain. Then out of nowhere becomes unmanageable to the point that I can’t even get up out of bed. Feeling almost anemic. What do I do. I’ve seen doctors, colonoscopy, endoscopy etc. I’ve seen multiple doctors and this won’t go away. I was thinking about going to Houston Texas for medical treatment. One thing I do know is that i can’t get the spasms to stop. As soon as I get some energy back I’m going to do yoga. I have to keep trying, I need my life back. This fissure is a serious curse I would never wish on anyone ever. Agony is not even the correct word for this 🥵

I suffer with degenerative spinal disorder,discs and fractures in my back and neck and it’s curved so I can’t sit calmly,I do use oramorph and it can numb up but I have lowered it to help and it works.you have made my life on the toilet an easier way so thank you 🙏🏼 Dr xx

The trio namely squatty potty, adding stool softener and application of zinc oxide in the area couple of times a day and before bed has what has been the best remedy. After suffering for several weeks, these three things brought immediate relief and reduction in swelling.

Hello Dr Chung, i’ve been watching your videos for a while now,and i’m incredibly grateful for all the informative and helpful information you provide. Your a godsend ,as listening to your advice and knowing i’m not the only one that’s suffering with this gives me some what of comfort! I’ve been suffering with my fissure and haemorrhoids for a few years now with regular flare ups, and my fissure seems to be back ,i dread going to the toilet as the pain is horrendous whilst and after having a poop . My question is my poop has gone very narrow ,i struggle to have a evan slightly large poop as i feel this will tear my fissure more ,and believe it is my sphincter muscle that may be damaged or spasmed out ,stopping me from reliving my self properly.i’ve been suffering with narrow poop with my fissure pain and skin tags for a year or so ,what can i do to help this problem ,will this never get better ?😞

Have you tried taking miralax twice a day? Some Raisin Bran for breakfast or oatmeal and lots of water . It will help trust me. Mine got to bad and I ended getting a infection. A abscess and a fistula. Just got surgery last week . Feel so much better.

Any comments on eating too much in one sitting? I have always been a fast eater and eating huge portions extremely quickly, I follow all other advice and have been better but I think this is still one of my downfalls.

Full squatting is THE most effective and quick way to empty your bowels completely. Squatty potty are not as effective. I've seen that some people squat on the rim of the toilet. I wouldn't advise that as you could break it easily and hurt yourself. Equipment like a Lillypad squatting platform is the best! Try for yourself, it's the most natural way of passing a bowel movement. This is practiced in a lot of countries, unfortunately in the West we have sitting toilets which are not designed to make popping easy

I want to thank you for recommending Pranicura. I’ve used it for 3 days and it has made pain during a BM pretty much undetectable. I haven’t experienced the horrible pain after having a BM that last hours. However I still have a bit of soreness, but feel like I could go about my day now. I do put a tiny bit inside with a Qtip, and then I put nifedipine on the outside. It’s brought so much hope after being miserable for a month. I truly believe it works better than the prescribed cream.

@@OscarHernandez-bv3pr Hi Oscar. I had a partial sphincteroctomy on 6/28. The incision made fir surgery has healed. My fissure however hasn’t and drs are a bit surprised it hadn’t healed yet. I have maintained my diet and fiber intake so I feel like I am doing everything I can. I see my specialist again in October and if the fissure isn’t healed, I might need Botox.

Can you address how to have normal poops when you have no gallbladder? Change in bile flow alters everything! Long time sufferer of fissures and anal skin tags. Pooping is a nightmare. All Drs say is take metemusel and sits baths. Not good enough with no gallbladder. Also what do you think on using castor oil and how much? Desperate.

I have fistula from one year but I couldn't understand and i visit to odisha doctor suggested me for one month sitbath in warm water and take medicine i have done it & i follow my grandmother diet rule all gone thanks i have no more pain nothing now i can eat everything. I had to get the info on this, I went thru my 2nd surgery already and I can tell you what, it was horrible. The 1st day I just wanted to die, the 2nd and 3rd day I just wanted to stab myself to distract from the pain in my bottom. Doing better now, oh and pooping OMG THAT WAS PAINFUL.

@@planetunknown9105 I’m going on 6 months, and I usually take a dump twice a day. But since my surgery i can only go once, because if I go twice the pain comes back from pain level is at a 8 from 1-10. But other than that I’m doing good. I think around the 3rd month I felt good, but the pain after I poop was still there, it usually lasted for about and hour. Now i feel a small amount of pain from 1-10 like a 2 and that’s me pooping once a day.

I have been suffering from fissure since last 10 years. whenever pain increases, I apply nifedipine cream for 3-4 days, it gives me relief. pain is not so much except in case of constipation. recently, I have found that I have second degree piles also. should I go for surgery. I have field job and frequently travelled.

Been following a long time. I’ve been using mini fleet glycerin suppositories for weeks to allow me to poop. Now, they’re not helping much and only a tiny amount of stool is released. I just can’t get past whatever it is. I’m really scared to go to a proctologist in my area. They all have some terrible reviews. Any advice before I give in and make an appointment?? Anyone??

I had my fissur surgery 2 months ago. I now have light leakage but every 3hrs or less. I feel better when i clean it with water. And if I work around the house and move around i get it quicker. Is that part of the heating ,will it go away. I'm aircraft technician, I'm worried if i go back to work, managing cleaning every 2 to 3 hrs will be a challenge!

Hi, Dr Chang! I am now a month into having fissure. I no longer how excruciating pain when I have a BM or pain that last hours after. I feel like it’s healing, but now it feels itchy sometimes, is that part of the healing process of a fissure?

@DEEPANSHU hello, I actually ended up having a partial sphincterotemy surgery on 6/28. It’s been 8weeks and I could say the pain is about 90% gone I still have some light bleeding when I go #2, slight discomfort after. But the discomfort is nothing colapsares to before surgery. I don’t think the fissure has healed 100%. Dr told me my fissure was really deep and could take 6-12 weeks after surgery to heal.

Hello Dr Chung 👋 I had the LIS lateral internal sphincterotomy last 2020 because of my Chronic anal fissure , I have been post op for 2 years but i still feel pain in my bottom , i cant sit for long periods of time , anal itching , etc. I find it comforting watching your videos , It's really hard having this kind of condition , i pray you can give me a glimpse of hope that this will not last forever. My life has been stopped since then :( i have been using nitro gycerin ointments for months now ? Is it harmful ? What othet things i can do ? I had bad fissure for month . My doctor gave me Mediate suppositories, that helps , sit bathtub for while . Take Advil . It’s the worst feeling . Hope this helped

Dr chung. Love your videos please answer this If a surgeon was in doubt with diagnosis.. and pelvis MRI says no anal fistula detected, anorectal muscles and soft tissues intact. Rectal ultrasounds suggest there is no anal fistula. First question is with regard to mentioned above imaging to RULE OUT anal fistula, Second question: I have an anal skin tag.. so can that anal skin tag become infected and have some discharge/pus? And that may be the case? Kindly let me know I'm terrified lmao and thanks

You should look for a different surgeon . Mine did a mri and found the fistula. What you describe sounds exactly like a fistula

@@ahmadsollam3307 hi. There I got a abscess drain and a seton for my fistula. The first 2 days after surgery weren’t bad because my surgeon put some kind of shot so I didn’t have much pain. But the following 3 days when I had a bowel movement it was some of the worst pain I have ever had in my life. But these last 2 days I haven’t had much pain just a small burning sensation. I would get a second opinion because I waited to long for mine and I ended getting a really bad infection so I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks before surgery

Please expand on point 5 - small poop! How can one get this right? My doctors have me on Movicol - it works for softness But it creates SO MUCH BULK that forces its way out - tearing open the healing wound all over again

Omg you WILL know if you have it thrombosed, I found out the hard way (pun intended). A thrombosed hemorrhoid happens when your hemorrhoid has a blood clot inside it, you're gonna feel a rigid and hardening tissue on or around your anus that may extend to the inside of your colon, almost feels like if it was some kind of tumor! The pain is UNPARALLELED, people literally go to ER for this kind of pain, I literally cried, if you went to the ER they're gonna make an incision and draw the blood out and you'll feel an instant relief, BUT this should happen within 48hrs of the incident, orherwise the docs won't be able to help and all you have left is painkillers and prayers, the blood clot will eventually be reabsorbed by the body in 2-3 painful weeks.

Wow, watching them melt away within 48 hours felt so good, and yes, I used what I mentioned the other day. It actually took a bit more to make them totally disappear, I just go’ogled Melissa Thanderski and the pain was no more.
