I feel like i wouldn't have the amount of patience to make a NICE meal out in the woods around a fire. im sure i could. one of these days in the near future i will try.
I just started his 8 wk adventure (had already done a 4 hr marathon watching some of his others!) and immediately stopped the video to ask “anyone else worried there is a dead body in the trailer?” I get it that he thinks it’s abandoned, but it’s still plugged in! Now it feels like a mystery episode!
These videos are really special in a way I can’t even describe. It feels like something I would’ve watched in 2014, and I mean that in the best way possible. These videos have a nostalgic, magical, beautiful, and relatable feel to them. I hope you never stop enjoying RU-vid, Steve. I especially hope you never stop enjoying life.
Steve, I have been watching your adventures for about a year now and somehow missed these older videos until today. There is something very special and therapeutic about this style of storytelling, so raw and natural. It would be so wonderful if you decided to bring this style back for future videos. I feel like I’m sitting right there with you at that campsite, and I know you apologize for showing us the mundane part of the adventure, but I think that can be the most interesting and authentic. Thinking of you quite a bit lately, and hope you’re doing ok 🙏🏼 we are all here for you and you are a special part of our lives buddy.
same I just saw this guys channel like 2 days ago and man what awesome vids! i live in st louis MO where do you live? it's cold and snowy here in the midwest and about 20°F ✌
My buddy that was in Vietnam said it was perfectly alright to heat stuff up in the can. The internal temp of the can doesn`t get hot enough to melt the plastic lining. You Must Open the can though to allow pressure to escape, to keep from exploding. Love your channel Steve !
Not only are you not supposed to heat up canned food in the can it comes in due to the lining but if any of that carpentry lumber is treated, burning it will give off toxic fumes... inside of a small tent.. still... live you Steve
You seem like a really good dude. I’ve spent the whole day watching your vids and just subbed. I’ll definitely be buying some Hunker Down merch. Got my eye on the black hoodie. 👍🏾👍🏾
I love camping with Steve!! I first saw the camping with Steve videos then somehow started watching boondocking the other day and the guy looked totally different and I was like man this guy's voice sounds like Steve and then I noticed it was you and you were younger after like 10 minutes of watching it kind of funny.
You seem a bit happier in this video mate. You looked a bit down at times in the last one. It's good to see you in better spirits (in the video at least!)
I love the natural beauty shots and the guitar music. You make even shoveling snow with the sun on the trees behind you a joy to watch. Thank you. Love it!
I hear those Chickadees calls in the background. Love those birds. Hey, Steve, I really dug those moments of nature photography combined with the music. I wouldn't mind seeing some more of that in your current videos.
Just cooking.....in the middle of winter.....in Canada ......living in a tent .....below zero.............Not just cooking......but bad ass Cooking ...........just as interesting too
Steve, I’ve watched your videos and I take my hat off to you man. Makes me think that we really don’t need much to survive. Thanks for sharing your experience.
After watching your video review on The Alpine stove I had to order one. It arrived this morning you were 100% correct on the quality. Looking forward to setting it up in my tent. Cheers!
Yes I can only imagine the heat in your small tent with a stove this big must get real hot. I'm hoping it might be better suited for my 18x10ft canvas military tent. But in all honesty I would prefer too hot to frozen when winter camping. lol Love the vidz keep them coming..
You always take some amazing shots but having them set to music in this was a real treat, like I'm watching the next episode of one of my favorite shows. 🖤
hey steve. i want to say about a month a go i came home so drunk and found your videos on my recommended. it was the best find i tell ya. now im a huge fan. you're the man
Nice video, thanks. I am gladdened to see that you are taking time to enjoy your environment. I am hoping you get more wildlife passing through the campground in the evenings....homework can always wait.
Dont listen to idiots about cooking in the can. All company's whom can food like soups, chili, veggies, or chef boyardee. ALL of them produce their product by cooking items in the can. It part of the preserving process. It is completely safe to cook in a can! You are the Bob Ross of camping. Very entertaining!
I’m a newcomer. I’ve thoroughly been enjoying your videos! By the way I’m totally planning on barging in sometime during your supper to bum a plate. Lots of love from Newfoundland!
I know that is a few years ago, but I saw it today ( 21-08-2020) and man.....I love it!!! All so simple, no Lightweight tent, nothing hi-tech. Just the way it should be !! It is a shame we cant do this in the Netherlands...in 20 minutes the police would be there :-(
On the quinzee- find some sticks 10 inches or a foot long and put them in the snow and thewy are your thickness. when you see them on the inside- dont go any farther. then your walls will be thick enough. Also put a small stick down through the roof- that will be your vent. We find it works best- this way. Have fun!
Maybe a big cast iron frying pan check the 2nd hand stores. Get one big enough to use as a lid for the stock pot you heat water in it will boil faster. You could use the cast iron to bake in the stove have the coals under the grate and sit the pan on it and it would cook like a pizza oven just make sure coals not flames, those Pillsbury biscuits in a tube would work just grease the pan well.
Looks almost like the hobey cakes Granny used to make damn Steve i don't know what the hell i enjoy more you camping your mishaps or your cooking. But either way this is some fine hunkerin down videos. I tell u what when i cant get out i damn well know u can and that's ok with me
Cooking in the can not safe? Wish I knew that 40+ years ago. Gotta go get a drink from my garden hose but I got to clean off the tar from my hands with gas.
You gave it away using the word "sceme"lol. Plus saying "these pellets will work just fine" on day 9 after having the pellets since the 3rd day.. Hahaha I love little fibs! Briiant! :) Great buiscuit & gravy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, that black walnut looks nice. I could make some cooking utensils out of those. Around where I live those would be sold as turning blanks and probably sell for $10-20 each.
Very cool. You are doing alot of what I do, have done...continue to do. Your videos enchant myself & my camping granny wife. Yow... love your camera work/ quality/ composition. Just discovered your adventure & we binge watched a lot of your stuff. Subbed... liked !!!! Thank you for sharing your adventures.. I want to check out your framing a camper for truck...did you finish this? I guess I should watch first..question later... Anyway, from my wife and I, take care.. good wishes on your school and Thank you again!
Did you know you can make a homemade oven out of cardboard box covered with heavy duty aluminum foil. I cooked a chocolate cake in the one I made. Learned about it from Kenneth Karaam on you tube. Might want to check him out. Would do great with baking biscuits.
not a serious question but do you ever partake in a joint or bud (mary jane). i dont drink anymore and i find that I enjoy bud alot more then drinking as theres no hangover and it helps me with my pain from a head on car accident instead of taking pain pills. much love from st Louis MO brother keep up the awesome vids ✌💨 reason i ask is because it's legal in Canada and I know you like to relax and HUNKER DOWN when you're done with your tent set up and sit down to chill.
