#6 - In an interview years after they split up, Animal admitted that they had both screwed up and that both could have put in more effort in making the new Road Warriors work better. Among the issues, Animal had borrowed a good chunk of money from his new tag-team partner, and made zero effort to pay him back in a reasonable amount of time. Rather than going to Animal about it, his new partner complained to one of Animal's family members about it. That's just one example. At the end of the break-up, Animal did let him know that he could continue to use the gimmick of being one half of the Road Warriors in future matches. Gave him his blessing... But instead of going with it, he sold his Road Warrior gear to a huge Wrestling fan in Germany. Animal was disappointed but not surprised.

They did have a little heat back in the day but they squashed it not too long after. I heard New Jack talk about it in his last interview before he passed. Cornette pretty much said the same story as well. They wanted to push New Jack into singles, Mustafa wanted to stay a tag team but he was becoming more weird and crazy and wasn't taking the business as serious as Jack was. New Jack didn't wanna miss out on the money he would be making if he continued as a single wrestler, so he took the money and split on Mustafa. Mustafa was pissed and jealous for awhile but he eventually got over it and they were cool until Jack's passing. Wrong about The Rockers. They were good friends and partied heavily together for years. It wasn't until later in their tenure, that Michaels was going to get a push, and Jannety needed to be separated because of that. Their friendship fizzled out shortly after that.
Ive read Shawn Michaels autobiography and they were always very close until after they split up as a tag team cos Jennety went completely off the rails but were absolutely fine as a tag team.

Yeah, even Marty admitted later that he had some issues with substance abuse & before the Barber Shop angle, Shawn was already tired of how things were going. Still one of my favorite teams though, me & my older brother used to wrestle each other on old mattresses & pretend to be them lol
Shawn himself turned into the party boy that he often privately complained Marty was. In fairness to Michaels though, a few other wrestlers from the WWF and other promotions The Rockers were in during the 80s did collaborate that half the time Michaels basically had to babysit Marty outside of the ring because Marty was the one with the party boy reputation. Didn't stop Michaels being massively hungover during Wrestlemania 5 for their match against The Twin Towers (Boss Man and Akeem). Watch it and you see his timing in that match was all over the place.
The Eliminators from ECW apparently didn't get along well at all either. And they were a pretty damn good team. For that matter, neither did the Mega Powers.
Shawn Michaels got too worn out as a tag team wrestler and Marty wanted the rockers to stay but Shawn wanted to depart and start out as a singles competitor just to make himself progress further in his career and having to win more titles than he did as a tag team wrestler.
The "Rock N Roll Express" Shawn & Marty was one of my favorites back then....me & my best friend would make a make shift WWF champion belts out of card board. Then we would defend out belts with the older teens on a dirty old mattress as our ring. All my memories of being a wrestling fanatic all goes to "WWF" back then. 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
We used to wrestle with a friend in a makeshift ring made of sofas, with a tagr team a la Rockers, called the Roadhogs I think, with torn t shirts like the Rockers. Good times

The rockers were pretty close initially. they started butting heads only right before the split. So I am not sure if you should really place them on the list since majority of the time when they were tag team they actually were close friends.
Yeah. The two of them were really close to each other. But when Davey Boy Smith trade marked the name "British Bulldogs" and wouldn't let Dynamite Kid use it. It was over between the two of them. Or that's what's been told.
I wonder how well Strike Force got along. I know they both wanted to split up before Wrestlemania V, with each wanting to turn heel, and the only reason they got the green light to split up was because Rick Martel threatened to quit if they didn’t break up the team and turn him heel. Thank goodness Martel was the one who turned heel because he was a natural at it, and I just can’t see Tito Santana as a heel.

I think Tito stated, he committed to the character, as he was promised a good push, but then they used him to just job to the younger guys. I agree though, Tito would have failed as a heel, as it likely would have felt forced.
Rick and Tito were friends, Rick just wanted to be a heel for the 1st time in his career and Tito wanted to work with Rick as an opponent after teaming with him.

1 day the 'rock' came to coastlands pram n.z he was ginormous, probably steroids but he was thick as hell and about 6'4(actually only 6'3) , this was not the 'rock'Johnson , it was the real 'Rock' wrestler from the 80's Don Muraco to me he was the 'rock' and unlike many of his peers, hes still alive ! 73. he was presented as Don 'the Rock' Muraco. strange thing is when he came it appeared that he was much bigger in person atleast 2 inches taller(that can be easily faked) but his size couldnt he was just absolutely massive they say he was only 125kg but he was atleast 140kgplus being conservative. like he was a way more impressive wrestler than ultimate warrior or even Hercules.

I for one personally worked with Joe and Mike otherwise known as Hawk and Animal the Road Warriors, they were like Brothers to one another, so why get on here and show disrespect to those two men and the love they shared with each other?!
I watched the wwf then wcw I couldnt stand that wwe shit , haven't watched since, but Sean Michaels became lame after he went to single wrestling, all that hype, all the showmanship crap boring as no go. The Rockers tag team were fantastic, sean micheals was terrific in this, he became nothing after that.
Kidman was doomed anyway it was a complete hostile environment for former wcw wrestlers back than. The only notable exceptions being booker t who had to earn his success inch by inch maybe argue the same for ray mysterio or Goldberg who was already over in the wwe hell they parodied him with gillberg ultimate sign they knew he was a draw. Mustapha then went to an Indy show with 2 new wrestlers he called the new Gangstas. Terry Funk told Nujack and Nujack gave Heyman an ultimatum. @@butchvito I did a show with them back in the 90s in West Virginia it was bad enough to where they both had to have separate dressing rooms Gibson would actually sit talk with the guys and Morton wouldn't give anybody the time of day they even traveled and separate vehicles what you talk to each other at all
