Do you mean the difference between the NorthWestern part of Monterey county compared to the SouthEastern part of Monterey county? There is a clear social divide here in this county, but for me personally, places like Prunedale and Cachagua are exactly like living somewhere in the middle of the country that’s got abandoned cars and buildings…overgrown yards in front of old, small broken down houses…and small residential areas that are better maintained and organized. Then you go to somewhere like Carmel/Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach, Big Sur (Highway 1), Spreckles, Las Palmas, the Hills between Highway 68 and Carmel Valley road, you see the richest of the rich living a lavish, luxurious, and bountiful lifestyle like you would see in wealthy places around the world. I agree somewhat that Monterey county is a Tale of 2 cities, but really it’s a stark reminder of the social divide that exists in society. That’s why I always treat everyone the same whoever I meet. Sorry for the rant about our county lol!
