Good primer for the weapons guan dough and a fighting rod. Learned the CLF rod in Hong Kong and performed "Toe Kuen" (set moves) in Montreal decades ago. Students there loved my performance and I was recognized by people even when I showed up in Ottawa on my bicycle.
Very good definition of real fighting being ready at all times striking from every position adapting to every method of fighting understanding to read the enemy to put the enemy down all fence and defenses one all senses sharp understanding the weapons are no different than the way you punch kick back or sweep very good as always not some ridiculous cage fighting which negates the truth of battle or some silly boxing which leads one handicapped and sight exposed in the office can be taken advantage of or some circus of silly wrestling very good and keep the spirit of true fighting alive and strong and all the best on your journeys
Not really, as far as I know, most Praying Mantis styles aren't in CLF's moves. In any case, I practised a bit of karate, got a blue belt in Taekwondo, practised Choy Li Fut for over a year, and picked some useful short-range attack moves from from my Wing-Chun practising brother so mixing different moves (like Praying Mantis's) when needed has proved to be quite versatile and fun in different situations for me.
