We decided to join up with out good friend Chris from Rigging4Fatties and fish a stretch of the river in hopes to breaking a PB but mostly just to have a good time with friends and camp out on the boat.
Sun was setting as we got boat in water so we set out to get some silver carp. We also had goldeye, bluegill and goldfish with us. Set up on a spot for the night. We where actually pretty tired. Made some burgers invited Chris down for some food then he later went north and we decided to hold tight on spot we was at.
Alyssa crashed right after dinner and little before 1am so did Jeremey. We usually set clickers on but forgot to and Jeremey was woke up at 1:30 am to drag ripping out of a rod. The battle was on for a beast of a blue catfish possibly the biggest one ever landed in the boat.
The meat hunter flex rod a rod more meant for smaller cats and we use spinning versions as bait fishing rods was tangling with a monster cat. The new Ayers and sons reel the smaller version spooled with 30 pound mono was put to the test. These flex rods can handle a load and this possibly was the biggest blue cat ever landed on one.
Boat Camping on the Missouri river has its challenges but the rewards are defiantly worth it.
