These commercials aired on NBC on February 14th, 1986
1. McDonald's (Hmm, I prefer the lineup of the hard rockin' McDonaldland band seen in Vol. 383: www.youtube.co.... By this point the group had clearly sold out to the MTV demographic and had lost any of the edge they had originally)

Ah, I remember the Tylenol scare back then. It wasn't an issue for very long, but even after it happened, people still questioned it. Also that sound effect in the Halls commercial brings back memories.

As a 'Frank,' I've heard my name pronounced many ways. The promo for "Fr-AIY-nk! and Jesse James" is a first. The V.O. guy nearly quacked it.

OH my god!, My parents taped this special when it first aired and I remember some of these commercials being on the tape because I watched it so much

I knew Paul Frees voiced Ludwig Von Drake (in one of his very last performances as the character before his passing at the end of 1986), but I did not know that he was the announcer, too!

I wonder if Green Giant had the same animators that Keebler hired. I've had that 7-up commercial in my head for 30 years...can't help but think it was a holdover from summer. Those 'pump' style toothpaste dispensers were so futuristic in the 80s. Who would've thought we'd just stick with tubes instead? Knight Rider was still on in '86? I'm honestly shocked.

RE: that news update: That guy hasnt been executed yet? The police shouldve done it on the spot IMO.. That Punky Brewster episode was one of the"Very Special" ones..now im reminded of that one Family Guy cutaway(with the voice-over announcer using his"serious" tone for dramas,then switching to the "happy" tone for sitcoms)

+TTrigg If I remember correctly, this was a multi-episode deal where Punky gets sent back to the orphanage, and potentially gets adopted by a rich family. Anyway, we all know it wouldn't end like that!

Just read that the actor who co-starred with her on the show,George Gaynes,died in real life..he passed away last Monday
