I believe NBC dropped their Let's All Be There jingle in January 1986. I think the reason was the composers were angry that their end title themes were being muted by their jingle and ordered them to drop.

Not much to say about this set except for Marv Albert in the camera commercial. Just a good block of mid 80s NBC!

Wow...the sound fidelity on these old commercials is awesome. Someone knew to record on SP on their VCR to get better quality!

Ikr- as a kid , I was always like, what IDIOT would possibly give up 4 hours of recording?? And not one adult explained it- smh

I do audio restoration on everything I post, but the audio here basically needed no work done to it. I'm posting something from an SLP tape later this week that in comparison had to have the kitchen sink thrown at it to make it even remotely audible. I'm glad all the tapes my family recorded back then were in EP or better.

When you do work on the audio, is it with software? Excuse my ignorance since I'm unaware of hardware able to do it but I imagine there is.

Yes, just audio normalization, EQ adjustments and noise reduction applied through software.

Product 19 doesn't exactly strike me as a good cereal name. It sounds more like a government experiment that's supposed to be locked away. But, more realistically, it was the cereal's code name when they were developing it, and they couldn't think of a good official name to call it.

Product 19 - I have an old national geographic with an ad from '67 that really stressed iron. Like 3 times. Guess that was a concern back when they developed it

Diet Coke is so GROSS.....flat soda without that refreshing sugary goodness. Although as a kid, it seemed decent at the time.

Look @ 2:15 Meshach Taylor (April 11, 1947 - June 28, 2014) an original cast member of the CBS sitcom "Designing Women" that aired from September 29, 1986, until May 24, 1993. I always really liked him in the terrible 80s movie "Mannequin" (1987) too.
