Great stuff from WABC! Grew up with TV in New York and I can't get enough of that and the "News Series 2000" package they would use on EYEWITNESS NEWS in the 1980s! Thanks!
4:15--When I saw the name Remco, I was expecting a toy commercial. Remco Toys' heyday was a bit before my time, but I have a DVD boxed set of mostly 1950's-60's commercials that has several of their ads. Musical trivia time: 4:45--The background music in the Fremont Ford commercial is "Baby Elephant Walk" by Henry Mancini. (Lawrence Welk's version was a minor chart hit.) 5:45--The Valvoline music is "The National Emblem March" by Edwin E. Bagley. (I love going to outdoor municipal band concerts in the summertime, and I hear this one performed at least once, sometimes twice, every year.) 6:48--"Wimpy, wimpy, wimpy! Hefty, Hefty, Hefty!" Although I think most modern commercials are inferior to those from the past, that slogan has been revived and expanded with "Pricey, pricey, pricey!" and other variations.
Where are you from as in the UK there was a big change,I could understand if you mean't 1980 and maybe very early 81 at a push still being like the 70's but not 82 does Knight rider look like something from late 70's I think not or Rocky 3 even though that started filming in late 81
how the hell is 82 basically the 70'?in UK late 70's was punk in early 80's was new romantics and that's when cassette tapes came out music had changed like Duran Duran,Spandau Ballet,Wham, and films like Rocky 3,Rambo first blood,Tron,The Thing,TV shows like Knight rider,Magnum PI,Cheers, the fall guy etc didn't look 70's did it.And the fact it has got 8 in it says the fact it was part of the 80's obv that's like saying 1992 was basically the 80's
Was that Daniel Stern checking out the babes in the Lowenbrau? Had one of those oversized mugs with the lowenbrau logo on it when I was a kid. When I was old enough to buy the beer, I didn't like it!
