8:18 - Wow, they actually released a Hellraiser movie over Christmas weekend? That just cracks me up. Merry Christmas, Pinhead!!!

Oh gosh those sports illustrated videos... we had several of them including the football follies. As a 10 year old I loved them. My favorite was called crunch time.

This is that weird time when record collections were on records, 8 tracks, cassettes and CD's.

08:58- the C-5 Galaxy.. I flew from Okinawa to Alaska to California in one on March 17, 1983. It was odd because after 16 hours of flying, it was still early on st. Patrick's when I arrived. It was not a luxurious flight. Even as a 10 year old kid I was over it. Must have been hell as an adult.

Hellbound Hellraiser 2-lol those ads where people are in the theater lobby saying how good/scary a film was always cracked me up(a family member of mine had did one around the time Friday The 13th Part III came out)

11:08 this Levi's 501 Blues commercial is so weird. It is down right avant-garde.

This is about right for a TBS commercial break around this time. Boring and predictable, but saved by a sweet mullet in the last movie ad and that stock music used elsewhere in the Sportscreme ad!

@ 2:07 Rob Morrow (Northern Exposure, Numb3rs) w/ a bit of NY accent overkill for the sports fans.

Oh i'm aware, and that's not quite right. It's pretty much like today, unless you're in the pacific northwest. People spend all their time being entertained in front of screens, and not so much time digesting just audio... much less so if related to anything of social value, instead opting for bullshit like The View and The Dish. But now, we have too much instant entertainment beamed directly to us, and less of us go out and truly live, or sit down and have real exchanges. It's all tiny boxes and echo-chambers. When I was first allowed to ride my bike across town (I lived on a mountain, born in 82), I remembered street names, and could read the maps that came in the phone book before the age of 11. Nowadays, high school kids stare blankly at maps. These phones, like the one i'm using right now, are actually making us dumber. They don't have to be, but people don't want to actually think for themselves.... let the damn computers do as much FOR us as we can. That's why this is a little sad, and not fucking pathetic like it is now. There are always pros and cons, but shit's really awful right now.

3:30 - Oh man, the first infamous attempt to bring Wonder Woman to television. It had absolutely nothing to do with the comics or the character, and was just plain boring to watch. Fortunately, it was never picked up as a series, and that "movie" is all that exists. A couple years later, they tried again, and we got the show with Lynda Carter, which was much more faithful and much better all around.

It was based on the version of the comic book character at the time: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Publication_history_of_Wonder_Woman#The_Diana_Prince_era_and_the_Bronze_Age

Ah the infamous era when they made wonder woman more "feminist" by stripping her of her mythology and making her a secret agent. Thank goodness that era was short.
