These commercials aired on MTV on July 7th, 1985
1. Coors Light (I've been posting ads here for over 10 years and this is the first time I've encountered the "Coors Light Beer Wolf". I don't think he's a Werewolf but you would think he’d stay away from the "Silver Bullet" just to be safe)

1985 was the best year in the decade of the 80s! It had it all! Music, TV shows, movies, etc.! Of all the years in the 80s, 1985 will be my number one favorite of all time!

84,85 & 86 are my favorite years and I remember this summer vividly due to The Goonies, Back II The Future, Rambo: First Blood Pt 2 as I went to see them. All the movie TV Spots in this block of MTV Commercials just verifies how great the 80's were. I remember very well the Rockin' Down the House ad - this one played for a few years. The commercial for Wacky Fruit Bubble Yum always reminded me of the video for The Cars "You Might Think". Wish I could relive this summer, even if for a day.

I'll be honest, for a Pepsi commercial in the 80s the guitar riff at 11:50 sounded badass despite the fake guitar playing. 1985 was a great year, especially movies like Back To The Future, Rambo: First Blood Part II, & of course The Breakfast Club.

Great movie commercials in this one. Reminds me that 1985 was the year when previously R-rated films (like Mad Max, Conan, National Lampoon's Vacation and Police Academy) started to go PG-13.

move stuff that was meant for teenagers down to where they could see it. Also avoids things like the original Gremlins being just PG. Sigh....does remind me what's become of movies seeing all those original ones in the 80s.

I wish they still brought movies back to theaters. There are the occasional special showings but I'd rather catch the original of a film remastered rather then it's new remake.

That Wacky Fruit Bubble Yum commercial seems very...”inspired”...by The Cars music video “You Might Think”. I used to watch that video on a cassette collection of MTV videos and I always remembered it for how crazy the visuals were and for being the second to last video on the tape right before Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

The Bubble Yum commercial was made by Charlex, the same animation studio that did "You Might Think".

BWAHAHAHA!!!!! I laughed my ass off at the Red Sonja preview. The whole thing was selling Arnold. The title character was thrown in as an afterthought....lol

Gotta agree with you with that Coors Light Beer Wolf. Must have been a regional or holiday thing with that, maybe. I looked up to see if it was something concocted to compete with Spuds Mackenzie, but she didn't make her first appearance until 1987. Very strange.

E.T. was rereleased in ‘85 too? Didn’t know that. I remember my mom taking me to go see E.T. when it was rereleased in 1986, on my birthday. I was not quite 3 years old when it originally came out in 1982, so I don’t remember whether I saw it in the theater then or not. I watched it on VHS all the time. It was my favorite movie then and it’s my favorite movie now.

It depends on where you're from. There was no re-release in the U.S. in '86, but it was re-released in Britain and Australia that year.

80sCommercialVault I live in Colorado so I guess it was 1985 then, Coulda sworn it was ‘86. Looks like it was rereleased a few days after my 6th birthday, not before. Ah well. Though I got the day and year wrong, it’s still a very clear and dear memory of mine

California Coolers commercials were funny. I thought the Bubble Yum as well as other commercials myself were offensive and stereotypical towards nerds. And yes... I take it personal. - If cats ever drank caffeine, i would never own one. -12:34 SO stupid. -15:40 ALTV needs to be streaming 24-7.

Red Sonja-remake is still happening unfortunately..but Bryan Singer is thankfully not directing Mad Max BT-honestly i think the story shouldve ended here California Cooler-my favorite wine coller drink Rambo-trailer for V:Last Blood was leaked online..it actually looks like it will be a good movie
