I know you get this a lot, but thanks so much for posting these. They provide a short mental break from being bombarded by social media and the current world.
The Alpine White candy bar was SO GOOD. I really wish they'd bring it back. The commercial was amazing as well. 34 years later and I'm still singing it word for word.
I remember seeing the ads for the pump toothpastes, and they ended up being completely useless. A tube of ordinary toothpaste worked just fine! That Nestlé Alpine White commercial...it felt ahead of its time in 1986, and it was very effective, because I only bought those for the next three years. Oh, Allerest...the good old days, when you could get good decongestants without showing your drivers license. Wow, Vegas sure changed their marketing...because now whatever happens, stays there. Obsession "ahhh, the smell of it!"
IMO the overall melody and style of singing were cribbed from "Forever Young" by Alphaville: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t1TcDHrkQYg.html
Kinda like how people call cola "Coke" regardless of brand sometimes, gelatin is always "Jell-O", and every mom tells her kids to stop spending so much time playing their "Nintendo" regardless of which console it really is.
