Right? Back then I couldn't wait to be an adult, but 40 years later, I want to go back to being 10!

Intellivision was so good, they released a classics collection 3 times. One for PS1, another for the PS2, and I THINK one more for the Gamecube. As long as Snafu is on it, I will play it. Yet when it came to LJS, I will forever miss their Sunday Special of ALL YOU CAN EAT for 8 bucks. Not sure if it was a national or regional choice, but the last time I had that special was in late 2018. They need to bring it back.

I hated the overlays tho, they would slip at the most critical time in pitfall Harry. I used to love that game and had all the underground shortcuts, locations of gold and platinum bars, and timing of the crocodiles memorized. I also loved frog bog, dungeons & dragons, crook and chase, night stalker and tron deadly disks.

I owned the one for Gamecube when I had that system about twenty years ago. I liked playing some of the games on it. Also liked the song that was played during the intro, "I Want My Intellivision". My favorites games were Astro Smash and Night Stalker. We had the Atari 2600 throughout most of the eighties. A buddy of ours had the Atari 5200 and a couple of our pals had the ColecoVision. But we didn't know a soul that owned an Intellivision.

January 23, 1983. I remember that time. I was five getting close to being six, and in Kindergarten. We were in the midst of moving out of Central Florida to move to Middle Tennessee, where I have lived for over 40 years now. I also remember my Aunt and Uncle were also moving, sold their house, and they and three of my cousins were staying with us. And it was already me, Mom, Dad, my older brother, and sister. It was ten of us living in a small house for a few months. I remember to this day how bad that sucked.

Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup- From my experience, what makes the Lipton soup better than Campbell's is that you get lots more noodles per packet than you would in one can of Campbell's soup. Pillsbury Piipin Hot Loaf- Looks like the Doughboy didn't do his trademark giggle in this commercial. I guess the people were too busy enjoying the hot bread to stick their fingers in his stomach to make him giggle.

We didn't have McDonald's breakfast often, but I remember how good it was at the time when we did. As far as McDonald's goes, when I was a kid, we would eat lunch there every Saturday afternoon when we went to town to do grocery shopping, rent videos, and where my older siblings and I got to spend our allowances either at Walmart or at the local mall that had Kmart at the time.

That was a good commercial for Purina Dog Chow... wait, HOG CHOW?! Gotta love these videos from Midwestern network affiliates! They even have mute news presenters (yeah I know it was a mic issue but it was funny)

He left NBC for PBS in 1984 so he may have very well been fed up with his job at NBC at this point. I imagine reading these news reports on the weekend was a rather thankless job. I posted a similar update from Tom Snyder a while back where it seemed like he was trying to rush through the stories as soon as possible.

@@80sCommercialVault Most of the "real journalist" at the networks hated these updates. It meant sticking around 30 Rock until late in the evening because they were live. However, the ratings and profits were higher for these updates than the full network newscasts and it was great exposure. For example, NBC could charge more for a 5-10 second spot during "Capsule" than what they could charge for a spot during "Nightly News" because the "Capsule" reached more people in primetime. Jessica Savitch did most of the ones on NBC which helped her become one of the best known anchors in the country. She had been banned from reporting from Nightly News so "Capsule" later "Digest" and her Saturday Nightly News gig were all that she had.

I remember when grocery clerks would physically type in the price of a item. Not even looking at the register, not missing a beat, and getting the right price.

I had to memorize the sales prices for the week when I worked at Hobby Lobby in the early 2000s. It was rough enough. I can't imagine having to remember all the normal prices of items in a store, especially if prices went up.

@bethdibartolomeo2042 Back then, workers would use a price gun and individually put prices on the product. The cashier would look at the price on the sticker.

PM Magazine-that lady must live in a big house WHO NewsCenter 13 News Bumper-probably said"We're now hiring for sound techs." The A Team-w/ the original Faceman,Tim Dunigan(who would later be known as Captain Jonathan Power..guess it can be said Lt.Starbuck replaced him in the series proper) Intellivision-loved that Night Stalker game..the trick was to stand in the opposite lower right corner and shoot the robots as they spawned in 1983 Mazda RX-7-looks like The Stig was behind the wheel Little House On The Prairie-Laura has too much of a conscience to lie.. Purina High Octane Hog Chow-should be more ads for hog feed these days 😆

Question do you guys selling Purina Hog Chow at the pet store?
@80sCommercialVault
@80sCommercialVault Год назад
These commercials aired in Des Moine, Iowa which has a large population of farmers of both grain and livestock. The Hog Chow commercial was not seen nationally and was a regional specific ad inserted by the affiliate. You can't buy feed like that at a normal pet shop and would have to go to a special Livestock Feed & Supply store.
