I like to say that there was good hip hop music in the 80's and sampling old school music helped boost the artistry of music to a new level. The samplings of the old school flavor of the late 60's and 70's help bring the new artists of the 80's new sounds and elevate the new music culture what hip hop music is today. True hip hop music being the samplings of the old school music no more no less play on players play on.
I'm glad you like my comments because you are great at what u do in DJing, mixing and sampling some of the best genres of all types of music that brings hip hop music a new classic era.
Lyn Collins at 5.08 dre used on a snoop track on Doggystyle. Same goes for the funkadelic track at 4.13. There used in Doggystyle. Fo shizzle! The lyn Colins track is the horns and clap used in 'ain't no fun'. The funkadelic track is either used in the bathtub intro or the lady of rage 'G funk' track
Amazing, thanks for sharing this collection. It takes me back but also infuses me with new undiscovered dope oldies (at least some of them anyway). I am just glad the original artists started getting their paper for copyright usage before the 80s ended.
I’ve gone off the original credits from the first release and he’s not mentioned www.discogs.com/release/61626-Doug-E-Fresh-The-Get-Fresh-Crew-The-Show-La-Di-Da-Di

ok, that last one, I originally knew that let me clear my throat, and both this one, not the original sample, but the song itself, got used as our song when the Rams got back to LA. DK if they still got it.
@@DJFurio However, let's round out the era appropriately 'cause at least a couple of his contemporaries were just as impactful... Hitman Howie Tee and Hurby "Luv Bug" Azor.
@@gamble510 They ALL look up to Marley...He predates them all...AND he paved the way for them with his innovative techniques..Howie T produced the Real Roxanne strictly off the success of Shanté the first Roxanne who is a prodigy of Marley. Hurby is a Queens cat who had success with a female group basically following the blueprint laid out by the Supastar Engineer Marly Marl.....
@@messiahblackgod Copy that, Black and I agree... he is a chapter in Hip Hop all unto himself. I grew up in Gardena and Cerritos, CA listenin' to "The Bridge" on the world famous KDAY. Shan said it right... "But they can't do Marley nothin' no how, so heeeeey..." My pointed focus in the previous comment is more at us celebrating the nuance of the foundations... too many pioneers lost in the sauce these days that were household names for us. So many dope contributors to the soundtrack that's been our lives, ya know.
Not the same sample. It’s The Underdog Theme by Allen Toussaint Orchestra. I’ve shown it here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t6InbZRKKTI.html
Apparently the Planet Rock one wasn’t a sample and was recreated in the studio (according to Arthur Baker), but I guess that’s neither here nor there because it sounds identical 😛
