Was looking for a repair solution for a customer's broken mirror after we came up empty handed for a new one. This repair bracket from Solv Function on Etsy was an extremely elegant and easy repair. Wish I'd found it before I used windshield adhesive to solid mount the mirror on my truck :)

I bought a set of "mirror hoods" - they stop the wiggle as well for those who are busted but not BROKE on the inside.

It's good to see a video from you. Do know any trustworthy mechanics down here in south Louisiana? My 2005 Pontiac Montana van has difficulty getting out of park. I took it in and the mechanic replaced the timing belt and alternator. I got it back but after 3 days I had the same trouble. The tow truck man, an older gentleman, stuck his hand in on the driver's side and got it going fine. So, in the meantime I put it in 1st gear at the far right side of the shift indicator, it kicks, and then it goes into reverse . It drives like I there's no trouble. One online reference said it might be the transmission solenoid.

I have a kind of related question, on my 80 on the driver door, the black plastic trim/ seal for the window on the outside of the door (the thing his right hand is resting on at 0:16) is cracked and peeling off. Does anyone know the part number or where I can find it. I haven’t had any luck finding on the Toyota website, but I might not have looked hard enough

Are the transmissions the same in all the 80 series? Or are there different transmissions depending on the motor?

I have a 07 LX470, and on reverse, the left side back mirror doesn't tilt. Any thoughts?

I haven't run across that one before unfortunately. Does the mirror adjust with the switch still? If it doesn't adjust by the switch either I'd guess dead mirror motor. But that's just a guess.

@@OTRAMM I am also guessing a dead motor. I want to thank you for the videos. Last November, watching your videos, I managed to replace the timing belt. It started on 1st try. You make it so simple, but I had the most difficult time installing back to AC unit. Unless you have a lift, nuts and bolts are not easily accessible. Please keep the videos coming 🙏.
