Thank you so much! So happy you loved the interview and you are so right I think she has an AMAZING attitude to body image and also really respect Keely for using her voice to talk about awkward topics like contraception too! If you want to hear more from Keely, check out the full chat on the podcast: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 and let me know what you think if you do check it out! Josh
Crazy to hear she thinks she’s too thin. I think she looks strong! I was on the pill for over a decade and got off due to side effects. It’s definitely a risk vs benefit scenario and every female should be well informed. I don’t ever want kids but I love seeing women come back from childbirth even stronger!
You are right, Keely is so strong! It was so interesting to here her perspective on everything from body image to losses. If you want to hear more from Keely, make sure you check out the full chat on the podcast, here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 hope you enjoy and let me know what you think if you listen!
It is more like she is tall and has a bit narrower bome structure but she does look strong. Still body Image is an important topic and topic to be careful with.
This is really a great interview. Kudos to Keely not just for her great achievements on the track, but for discussing the challenges affecting young women athletes, and the lack of knowledge and research around some of these issues. Realy good to hear contraception, body image and pregnancy within woemn's sports careers discussed intelligently. Good questions too, nicely framed. Thank you!
I love watching Keely's excellent running form for inspiration in my 400-800 efforts. I'm only 5'8" and do not have long stride and need to compensate for this with a faster cadence.
1:54 wins gold at the world championships. You can do that time. Go for it, Keely. If you can't out sprint the likes of Mary & Athing, then run a hard fast race. Like you did in Paris. That'll break'em. 👍
I am convinced she is going to win that gold medal at the World Championships!!! If you want to hear more from Keely too, check out the full interview on my podcast Reign, you can listen here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 and let me know what you think - hope you enjoy it! Josh
@@reignwithjoshsmith Cheers, Josh. I'm not sure Keely can out sprint Mary or Athing. But if she runs hard and fast like David Rudisha 2012, she can beat them. Good luck to her. 👍 Keely, should copy, David. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YKEOjWEzVGs.html
my favourite female athletes have all run either 200m, 400m & 800m! they includer ann packer, lillian board, kathy cook, kelly holmes & now keely hodgkinson! they are all world class & had/have a determination to win!!!
Couldn't agree more! I think if she wins the World Championships she will be the new TEAM GB poster girl heading into the Olympics 2024! If you you want to hear more from Keely - talking about this and more - make sure you check out the full interview on my podcast, Reign here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 hope you enjoy it!
@@reignwithjoshsmith hey Josh I found the full interview after watching this was a great watch thank you. Would love to see a few more of the GB athletes on your channel
@@scottsaunders5087 so glad you enjoyed it! More coming! We have another Team GB athlete on next week and make sure you check out the chat with Emily Campbell, Lucy Bronze and Jill Scott!
It's a proper English accent! I loved talking to her and listening to her and if you want to hear more from Keely, check out the full interview on my podcast Reign here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 - hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think! Josh
Can't even imagine a negative body image when lean or muscular. Both look hot to me. But its really easy to change either, the lean or muscular look. Can do it without even trying. Just stop working out, and have another bagel. Its the portly look that takes work to change.
Thank you so much - so happy you liked the interview and Keely is incredible! If you want to hear more from Keely listen to the full interview on my podcast Reign here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 - hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think! Josh
REALLY hoping for that gold medal too! I think she's going to do it, I have all the faith! If you want to hear more from Keely, check out the full interview on my podcast, Reign here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 where she talks more about her gold medal hopes at the World Championships and the Paris 2024 Olympics!
Thank you so much - I really really appreciate this as I have got a bit of homophobic hate for this interview so this really means a lot! Don't think many sports fans are used to having a gay man do interviews! If you want more from Keely too make sure you check out the full chat on the podcast here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 - hope you enjoy it!
@@reignwithjoshsmithU know many ' moons ago' when I worked in the Theatre in London( nothing glam) and I encountered many Gay fellas& I also encountered Bullying from a ' clique' of fellas ( not from the Gay guys) but I took care of that& shut them down! ..So that was an early education for me! ( it wasn't the ' Gay guys' who were the issue) So with that said u doing a interview& being Gay means nothing at all from my perspective, what matters is whether u can so ur job Professionally! ..But i will add a caveat,& that is I'm no supporter of this LGTQV political lobby& especially over here in the U.S.it's ridiculous!!
The 800 is a tough race. You need stamina, speed and strength in equal amounts. Muscles are essential but too much bulk (like a sprinter’s physique) is detrimental. She is an incredible athlete.

She's a top athlete and extremely, extremely talented. Yet somehow this comes across as WHINGING and MOANING about how tough life is? Research: It comes from revenue the athletics makes as a business, it's not a "human right", it's a privilege to be able to run top level. Only a rare few are good enough to make good money at the very top in this sport. Challenges: A peak performance athlete: It's part of the training how to manage psychology, training demands and then fitting life AROUND that! It's also a short-term thing in life that's probably the key perspective missing here? I'd much prefer to hear the practical advice she can give about her life and peak-performance athletics/sports as well as the benefits she gains from this life-style and monetization from it instead of moaning and complaining.
this is the first time I have seen her. in the first milliseconds 0:19 I was like "her forehead looks long" btw I'm former 1:50 800m guy. always clean. all Glory to God.
She’s not too thin for her career. However if she wasn’t a top professional athlete she definitely IS thin. Professional track athletes have to be running MACHINES maintaining unusually low body fat levels. This is especially true of middle and long distance runners. There’s nothing wrong with her strength levels but most women don’t want to look as lean as she does. Her leaness reveals her underlying muscularity which is what the average woman will harp on about. Keely is SHREDDED. It’s very difficult and unhealthy to maintain such low body fat levels throughout the year which is why they all gain weight in the off season.
