The good old days in Madaraka Estate Nairobi. My dad loved playing it so much. RIP my sweet dad. I both cry and laugh and dance when this song plays. Great song for great listeners.

Mayaula Mayoni joined TPOK Jazz at the end of 1973 as a rhythm guitarist and composer. Prior to that he had been a professional footballer, he played professional football for a tanzanian club and as a left winger for the top Zairean club of the time (AS Vita). He played for the Vita side they reached the finals of the Africa Champions cup. He also played for the Zairean national team. He never was fully a member of TPOK Jazz however. He was more of a freelance composer who provided his songs to various bands. Besides Nabali Misere, his other compositions witg the TPOK jazz include Bondowe, Mitelengano?, Bondowe II and Momi. He won Zairean composer of the year honours three times. He was also a scholar, he studied data science to a Masters level in a Belgian university. After leaving TPOK Jazz in 1979, he continued with his prolific career for another two decades. His last album (Bikini) came in 2000. He passed away in Brussels in 2010.
I want to thanks brothers from Kenya especially Kenneth Nyongesa. I posted my request here looking for a song i was looking for since 2008. I did not know the namr of song and artist. Kenneth contacted me on my whatsapp number. I send an audio humming the tune and in less tgan 30 minutes he had found the song. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. This is brotherhood. This is Africa. Let us be united like this brothers especially via music. I am convinced this is what the musicians themselves wanted even when some of them have passed on. The song was done by Les Wanyika and is called Simimi
Timeless classic music, rhumba music of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s stands head and shoulder above all, May Their Dear Souls Continue To Rest In Eternal Peace
I remember this Mayaula Mayoni as a deadly striker and a winger of the the then Congo-Kinshasa national team in 1968 when they played two friendly matches against the Kenya national team ( Harambee Stars ). Congo-Kinshasa had just won their first Africa Cup of Nations title by beating Ghana 1-0 in the final. The tournament was held in Ethiopia. I had the privilege of watching both the matches at Nairobi City Stadium. I had just joined high school that year.
For the love of my late father,Benjamin horace kangah. May his soul rest in peace 🙏. My dad loved this song soooo much ..and influenced me in to rhumba
The year is 2020, a confusing year, but this evergreen tune always sweetening my memories of growing up in the vast sugarcane farms of Mumias, Western Kenya! Long live KBC the mother radio.
2020 we're here! This Mayaula Mayoni was a music genius, remember he didn't sing in any of his songs, he only played guitar but write the songs for those with vocals. In this song he played rhythm guitar. He wrote great songs for various artists including lady Mpongo Love. He joined Franco's TPOK but he never was a full time member, he was just a freelancer who wrote a number of songs & presented then to vocalists. Prior to joining music, he was a footballer playing for then Kinshasa clubs & Congo national team
@@geoffreywanderi7837 Mayaula was never a TPOK member, he was a freelancer who provided the songs he wrote to whoever to sing. He played rhythm guitar in this song.
Am very delighted to youtube for this music and directly reflects on my very difficult secondary school life in Bukedi college Kachonga between 1981-1984.
A hit of all times. Great memories this brings, going home for lunch while in my primary school and kbc idhaa ya taifa had this hitting the airwaves, oh my....
If ever music is played in heaven then this are kind of songs, great job Mr mayaula,, we'll keep on listening to your nice music as you keep resting in pea
Not surprised this was a classic hit! With the great legend Djo Mpoyi and his ally, Mr Diatho Lukoki on vocals and the doctor Mayaula Mayoni, what did you expect?
Remembering my friends in the 1980s,Paul Oloo munda, Dancan Opiyo Ogendo, Thure Komuoro and Pamela Anyango Dolla. The days were great and liveable. So help me God.
This song to me is so nostalgic, few others come anywhere close. There were no CDs, no emails and no cellphones. We wrote letters and, dude, wasn't it a hell of a time!
RIP.
These days, girls were girls, boys were men of integrity, men of 80s, I bless you all, for some of us who had gone, let them dance with the angels!! I respect all of you!!
We lived in simple villages with mostly grass thatched houses. Most of this music could be danced only in funerals. We sneaked out of our hamlets and crossed valleys and hills at night looking for funerals just to dance. Sometimes I wonder why we should not classified as night runners!

This song touched my heart back in 1982 when I was in Tarime Sec School. Now listening to it is like in school remembering my old mates we used to dance at the hall in the middle of classes
I heard this when I had just joined my secondary school in Jinja Uganda. I had friends like Bwire John Haondo, Wandera Bernard Luduba and Philip Ombuki. Bwire John would sing as if he was the composer as we walked the journey from Jinja SSS to Mpumudde Housing Estate. I know Bwire is alive but just wondering what happened to the other two! The music was refreshing.
All my oldies I give thanks to Jack who owned a record player amongst my cousin brothers. Thank you Jackson, all my love for music was initiated by you my brother. May God bless and keep you longer. Love you bro

Mayaula Mayoni was not an ordinary person. He had the powess both in football and music. Started with the former as a deadly striker uniquely with the national team of Congo- Kinshasa and later as a music composer and guitarist. Bringing him out as a talented man, amongst others, is ' Ba Chagrins' song. What a Being!!!. Dr. Ogeto International
it's like the world is that different place from the one I have known!. I'm sure you just feel the uplifting of spirit within. This song is an embodiment of music and a source of that tranquillity tranquillity. Believe me it's what's my feelings ever since I first heard it decades ago
