I remember recording most of their songs on my VHS tape recorder. Unfortunately Halsey died in a car crash in '94 and Andrew Taggart passed after battling pancreatic cancer at the age of 48... Pity that legends like them don't live long... Kids these days will never know how famous they were. RIP, legends.

Oh god, the 80s were simpler times. I remember going to their concert back in '85, and I used to idolize Halsey so much. I even got a perm because of her! Needless to say, it was one of the best concerts ever. I will never forget The Chainsmokers!

One of my most cherished memories... May 1985. Last dance of the school year. 16-year-old me finally works up the courage to ask Rosalie for a slow dance. What started out as awkward but raging teenage hormones grew into the love of each other's lives. We're still together to this day. Truth be told Roe and I don't care for that cover version by what's-their-names that's been all over the radio. But our daughter loves that one.

I remember this song playing during winter homecoming in '86, my senior year. I remember being so upset when i found out my girlfriend Jennifer Wilson had been dating the football jock Dirk Anderson for 2 months behind my back. They were crowned homecoming king and queen as this song was playing. It was one of the worst days of my life. But luckily some of my hip friends called me down to the Hi-Way 39 Theater where they were playing Grease for the 7th time. My good friend at the time Danny handed me a cigarette and this song was still playing in my head. I learned to love this song and my good friend Brock had a similar experience.

It's surprising because this 80's arrangement has more chord variations than the original. The thing that music nowadays are lacking.

The video: Halsey starts up her motorcycle and as she speeds down the road the song starts playing. She meets up with the Chainsmokers at a motocross. When she takes off her helmet, Andrew Taggart sings, "Hey I was doin' just fine before I met you." Alex Pall then opens up the doors of a Range Rover. They all jump in it and start cruising down the street while singing the song. They then stop at a concert where they perform the song with thousands of screaming fans there. The video ends with Halsey and Andrew sharing a hug.
