True that the actresses were best friends who had lots of fun playing bitter enemies. I say Viki and Dorian the characters became cordial with each other at that point. Good that they were able to hug one another without killing each other.
2 of the GREATEST actresses in DAYTIME history & 1 of the BEST couples and chemistry I have EVER seen TIL this DAY!!!!! 2 of the greatest DIVAS in daytime !!!!!!
Seeing these scenes again after 11 years, man. The feels. Damn ABC and their stupid decision to keep only GH. So many stories, characters, memorable scenes that we could've had. But now so many have passed on and Soaps are a shell of their former selfs now. SMFH
Rashanda Grier unpopular opinion I will always imagine Dorian as a red head lol 😂 even when I look I back at Robin’s 70’s and 80’s work the brown hair just throws me completely off 😂😂😂
These two could have done a remake of what ever happened to baby Jane. I loved them in their scenes together, Robin and Erika were like DYNAMITE together. They both should have been A list Actresses like Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton,Judy Dench, Kathy Bates etc. I will say also that the ladies that I mentioned all have won Oscars. These two ladies would have won Oscars as well. They are in the same league as the ladies I mentioned. I miss seeing them on One Life To Live. I can only HOPE that these gifted ladies will show up on another show in other characters. I hope they keep in touch with each others, because they seem like REAL pals in real life. Brava to these ladies.🌹🌹🌹🌺🌺🌺💐💐💐🌷🌷🌷🌸🌸🌸🌈🌈🌈
God this makes me homesick, these excellent women were family to me, in fact I spent many more hours with them than some actual family members! I miss them terribly and find it absolutely ridiculous that these wonderful actors were sidelined due to ageism, misogyny and the prejudice against daytime actors in Hollywood. Pu these two in a scene with Streep and somehow Streep would blend into the background because these two are fire 🔥! We will always love and miss you ladies 🥲
It was. The actresses are actually close friends in reality. Erica is actually far more stable and far more down-to-Earth than Viki also. It took a lot of talent for those fine actresses to portray characters who were bitter enemies.
10:31...I love how Dorian has the humility to admit that life in Llanview, including the high drama will go on even long after she's left for DC. I have the feeling that Dorian was able to create a wonderful, more peaceful new life for herself in the relative safety of a big, diverse city like DC. In DC, she was free to be her quirky, brash, zany, introverted, deep-thinking self without fear of gossip or retaliation.
My favorite characters on this soap were Vicki, Dorian and Asa. Those characters were so aptly played by Erika, Robin and Phil. Such talent that made this soap opera a treat to watch.
My three faves are Dorian, Nora and Carlotta. Dorian is my absolute fave soap opera character of all time. Underneath that fiery bravado is a very sensitive lady. And underneath that sometimes prickly exterior is a sweet person with a good heart.
Dorian always liked Viki, although they were opposites. And, vice versa! Erika Slezak & Robin Starsser are the best of friends in real life! LONG LIVE THEM!!
I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY WAS ONE LIFE TO LIVE AND ALL MY CHILDREN CANCELLED. THEY WERE THE BEST SHOWS. BETTER THAN WHAT THEY PUT IN ITS PLACE. WHY IS GH STILL ON? NOW THAT SHOW NEEDS TO GO.
I wish the show would come back, at least as an On line series - just because the Prospect Part online version had problems doesn't mean the show wouldn't do well in another inception ~
7:44..."I'm probably a frememy." Introverted Dorian _hated_ that term. She knew that Viki, much as Viki is trying to affect this "nice" front, was not really her friend. It was only because Dorian was the mayor, then senator that had Viki in awe. Viki also knew that Dorian was in a position of power, so she needed to be on Dorian's good side for later favors Viki and her family would eventually need. Dorian knew this and saw through Viki to the end.
9:18...Wow...Viki actually admitting that she was wrong about something for a change. And especially Viki admitting that she was wrong to accuse Dorian of "murdering" Victor.
They give love hate relationships a new meaning. I miss these two ladies going at it. Now that Robin strasser is going to days of our lives, maybe they can create a new character for Erika Sleazak to play to spar with Robin's character
@@greenlee7smythe Oh, you darn right they are. Erika was heartbroken about doing this final scene with Robin that she still refuses to watch it, herself.
I wanted to add oltl had the strongest actresses on any soap ever. Susan haskell, Hillary b smith robin Strasser Erika slezak Gina tognoni kim Zimmer and they were all on together the last year . id like to add Fiona Hutchinson Jessica tuck and Kassim DePaiva and Judith licht not too shabby either . and on a level just below bree williamson I thought was pretty fantastic .
9:18...STOP THE PRESSES!!! Viki actually _APOLOGIZING_ to Dorian?????? That has _never_ happened...good to see that Viki's beginning to come out of her fantasy world and has stopped blaming Dorian for Victor's death and for everything else.
@@vasiparvin5113The original Dorian - who I read was one cold, evil broad - killed Victor by withholding his medication in 1976. Strasser's Dorian was bad but had more vulnerability and humor. So it was always up in the air with her version. I somehow don't see this Dorian doing the deed. She couldn't even effectively kill Mitch Lawrence. She claims she did, though.
Back in the Seventies, Dorian was a doctor at Llanview Hospital and charged in a patient's death due to negligence Her and Dr. Mark Toland (Tommy Lee Jones) covered up the crime and Dr. Larry Wolek very nearly took the fall. Dorian and Mark argued over what to do about it and she fell down a flight of stairs and was comatose. Upon awakening, Dorian confessed. The hospital board voted to fire her. Viki was a prominent member of the board and, as we find out nearly four decades later, that she was the lobe voice that voted against her being terminated. Anywho, Dorian blamed Viki and that's what started the rivalry. Dorian, would stoke the flames further when she ended up marrying Victor Lord, Viki's father. That is what REALLY started the war
@@kdizzle79: I think it was also more than that. Viki's DID was well-hidden, but perceptive Dorian was first to see a couple of those alters, perhaps at a hospital shift or at a board-doctor meeting. Viki maybe became paranoid at the idea of Dorian somehow exposing those alters and was subtly hostile toward Dorian, which then gave Dorian the impression that Viki was behind the decision to fire Dr. Dorian from the hospital. I think that's what started their feud. Viki was far, far from blameless there.
They really ruined Clint with the recast. I get they wanted to make him more like Asa, but it's just out of character after all the years of the good-natured, down to earth Clint Ritchie.
That's actually not accurate. Clint Ritchie didn't pass away until late 2008-early 2009. They recasted Clint because Ritchie didn't want to do the role anymore.
That's true, but I wouldn't blame the recast (because Jerry verDorn isn't a bad actor), just... really bad writing. Even if it is out of character, no one could be like Asa... except Asa.
Clint was never "good-natured" or "down-to-Earth." He just was better at hiding his corrupt, evil side better in early episodes. In the 1980s-1990s, Clint was also more adept at affecting the "down-home cowboy" facade. I laugh so hard still when Clint and Julia were having their fling in late 1989 and Clint pretended to "hate" caviar and black-tie parties, yet Julia sees through Clint's act when she sees Clint enjoying caviar and expensive wines at a black-tie party.
@@Coryraisa ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UF8fNOCbb6g.html in this clip Dorian admits that she killed Victor that's why I am confused.
@@vasiparvin5113: I've seen that but I think it was that Dorian felt a tad guilty about delaying Victor's medicine. Viki is forced to admit once again that she also had the final role in killing Victor. Victor didn't treat Dorian well later in their marriage. In any case, I was glad to see Dorian exonerated.
