Here's my explanation on what I did to convert my 302 v8 to carb. Facebook groups: Gearheads: / 484639162102250 4BT Swaps for Fords: / 869609853094651 Contact me: johnsonsgeerage@gmail.com
Hey great video! I just bought an 86 carb swapped 302 that the coolant system needs to be put together in. So thats the 4 bolt main transmission without the overdrive in yours? I ask because ive got the aod transmission and need to check to make sure the tv linkage extenstension was added but its tough finding info on that. If you know even a bit about that id be eternally grateful.
What did you do to the fuel lines on the frame rail under the cab of the truck. I have removed my high pressure fuel pump. I have also removed my fuel reservoir. I have the lines clear from under the truck all the way to the fuel tank selector valve. But I am having a trouble on connecting the new fuel line. Do I connect to the tank selector valve and plug the return line port and call it good on that then just connect the line to the mechanical fuel pump. What I want to do is utilize my reservoir and connect the line to that. Then just connect a small length fuel line from the tank selector valve to the reservoir, then reservoir to mechanical fuel pump. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks.
I have a 92 Ford Bronco with the 351 Windsor I'm thinking about putting a sniper kit in it due to I had issues with my fuel injected system add too much fuel in a cylinder and bent a connecting rod I'm rebuilding the engine now sniper kit will I have problems with the transmission shifting
I'm doing efi to carb swap on my 86 bronco. I put a 408 stroker motor in it. What vacuum lines did you retain and where do they go? I know I need to keep the brake vacuum, but what else besides that did you have to retain for everything to work correctly?
I was wondering about your feul pump set up. Did you just keep the original fuel pump in the tank and use the 7 psi fuel pump as some sort of a fuel pressure regulator?
I kept the in-tank pumps. They run low pressure. I ended up running an edelbrock electric pump in place of the old factory frame mount pump. The in-tank pumps are just a lift pump that feed the frame mount pump. Works good and I don’t necessarily red a regulator.
@Bullford82 neat! I should have probably knew that but I'm doing research for my girlfriend to get the correct parts and the truck is a half hour drive away so I can't look at it too often. I work on chevys primarily so I'm getting use to the ford stuff still lol thanks for the reply man this should help out a ton with the carb swap
@@bullford8218 we need to chat on this more. I’m trying to figure out how to make this work using existing hardware from my 1993 EFI pumps, switches, and valving.
Good job on carb- Little cam & exhaust upgrade will make it come alive - I fooled w/ my small block initially too much intake Then went w/ dual plane 600 holly Comp cam headers 2.5" Came alive - I wouldn't sell old Ford I ket mind get away & severely regret- The re good ole truck simple technology Always get you home - It's getting hard to find one now ah days in that kind shape -
I’ve got rid of the smog pump and got rid of the EGR on my 90 302 with long tube headers true dual exhaust running cherry bombs too and that thing is ALIVE
