The scene where Shin walks away from Eugene's corpse and hands his dog tags to Marcel is very important here. Normally, Shin's duty as the reaper is to relieve the suffering of his comrades AND take a part of their mech to leave their name behind (dog tags, if you will). Shin before the 86's last mission in the Republic would never have handed this duty over to anyone else, but now he is giving Eugene's dog tag to Marcel, showing the audience that the burden he has to carry as the one to remember all his comrades (being the last one left alive) is getting too much for him to bear. The subtle character writing in 86 really is really great and one of Asato's strong points when it comes to writing....

The Death Flag was waved so strong, but boy that was indeed to sudden. Also, Eugene is an Alba (just like Lena) and a big brother (just like Rei), so I think that hits Shin more

"He looks so good!" So, Asato Asato mentioned that men in uniform are sexy.

It was like, oh he's gonna die now, but then the actual death was pretty gruesome so it still managed to shock me lol

This show made Shin reach my top 5 fav male anime characters! He's fourth after Eren, Levi, Gojo

In a tv show when a character who means a lot to another character promise them they'll go somewhere together, one of them ALWAYS freakin dies

When i was watching the show and eugene was talking about his sister and wanting to take her out somewhere next time he leaves i was like:{ ok he is gonna die😂} and then it showed him holding the picture of her sister in his hand and the next show was the picture in a bloody hand 😢

When we realized that eugene will die soon and then the show nailed it with cut trough to his death was unexpected

We all know the dead flag was around him... But his dead was very graphic and sudden

For Nguyen, it depends (I don't know if it is depending on the region or dialect), some may pronounce it "N-gee-oo-yen", for one of my friends, it was pronouced "Noo-yen"...
