Eugene's first lesson we see him give his sister is that when someone does something nice for you, always tell them thank you. Hearing her say that after the grave scene really hits hard.
A cool detail about this episode, is the fact that the 5 of them left for war on Christmas. But they also came back for Christmas. I think that's a nice gift for Ernst. As for Shin, well, he found out that his Discord Girlfriend is HOT.
This Coda was absolute perfection. The mirroring of the Shin and Lena’s stories leading to one of the best, cathartic lines in recent years. “It’s been a long time, Handler One.” Dear lord. Just like the line in the song, “You smiled, and I couldn’t hold back my tears.” Sawano’s LilaS is a beautiful love song, and it is a literal acronym for “Lena is looking at Shin”.
Best season finale I've seen in a long time! I like how everyone (except Kurena) said something related to what they wrote on the drawing they left in the drawer for her.
The perfect and happy ending that most of us wouldn't expect after what we saw from ep 1-7. BTW, that piece of crap superior officer at 11:05 did not marry a 86. Those were the same Alban wife and kid in an earlier picture with their hair dye. That's why the wife closed her eyes to hide the silvery iris but the kid didn't. Of all the Alban I want punished, he is pretty much on top of the list.
The symbolization with the rail road tracks is one of the best pieces of symbolism in the series. Lena’s dedication and commitment to reaching them was one worthy of respect.
Yes, this moment in the start of anime(1st episode) and the final (23st episode) so perfectly. In the first - Dark, uncomfortable, and in the end - Sunshine, light and so beautiful colors. That's my lovely anime of all .
Without a doubt, off the top of my head this series has the most satisfying finale I've ever seen - it makes your heart just feel so fulfilled and warm. 😍
Easter egg in the last selfie they took: Kurena sliding her leg between lena and shin, meaning she is not gonna let them get all lovely dovely that easy 😂
I dont think that its going to be a 1 season anime cause it was well received and, not as popular as other shows, but a very good one. The next season as far as i read its going to be incredible, trust me
I get what you say with the fact that all of the squad survived. But at the same time, I feel it was kinda necessary story wise, because it proves Shin than he finally found people that can stay by his side, in more than one way, not only staying by his side even with his bad reaputation as the Reaper, wich was seen by everybody as a bad omen, given he was always the only one to survive (hence Theo's question if he wanted to keep it), but also being able to surivive along side him. It was necesarry given Shin's state of mind at the time.
I really hope there's a season 2. The novels from here on out only get better, especially all the interactions between characters who hadn't met before

I feel the same way. A lot still happens in the Light novels but this is a perfect ending anyways! It's funny because the genre shifts a bit in like vol4 (i think) and it's a lot romance centered haha
If the entirety of the show didn't give you the feels, the OST most definitely did, but both the story and how it was scored throughout the series is just grand. I hope for a season 2, but if there's only one season I wouldn't be mad and rewatch it again and again.

You see Lena's mom for a split second in the very first episode. She doesn't audibly speak, but in the novel, her mom is telling her to "stop playing with the livestock and go find a husband". The photos on that commander's desk look so fake. The people being photographed were probably paid off to make him look good. That's why he's nervous as fuck in front of Lena. He knows that she can see through his bullshit. I'm with Teppy. I don't trust him one bit! When she's in front of the stone with all the names, she's saying goodbye to Shin and his group, saying she'd never forget them. Then she meets them a few minutes later- That's gotta play hell on her nerves. XD If you want to see some beautiful pictures, check out the novel covers, especially volume 5 and volume 7. ;)
Your thumbnail INSTANTLY brought tears to my eyes. This episode and EP #10 of Violet Evergarden are two of THE most emotionally impactful pieces of spelling. Ever. Having seen the series finale to LOST and the absolute utter disappoint that it was) I was braced for that type of ending. I was not emotionally prepared for how this episode ended. THIS is how you tell a story. This is how you DON'T cheat your audience's emotions. But at the same time, don't pander. This (and EP 22) was emotionally rough as well knowing that the English dub VA for Shin passed before they were completed.

in the light novel, lena wasn’t crying at first because she was trying with all he might to keep her eyes open, believing that she was seeing things. she was afraid that if she closed her eyes, they would disappear.
Well the first person ever saw lena's face was raiden if you remember that ep when lena used a visual-para-raid to spot the exact location for the air strike. Unfortunately he forgot what lena looked like because it was just a glimpse of a second and twas long ago.
This is the only series that's ever convinced me to buy and read the LN's, and wow does it get better and better. The LN volumes the anime covered (1-3) are imo the worst ones, and it's still a 9/10. I really hope theres a s2.
These final two episodes of Eighty-Six were PERFECTION! It's a bit surprising that everyone survived, but it was definitely what Shin needed to hear in this moment.
Everyone survived because this is still the intro for the 86 story, anime covered 3 volumes. The story is currently at 11 with a new one every 4-5 months
Okay so two things, to explain why it wouldn’t make sense to kill of the spearhead members(at least right now). 1. They are experts in their craft, to even be part of spearhead let alone survive it, they had to survive 4 years of fighting, be sent to the worst of the fighting, and somehow survive that. Being part of spearhead means it’s basically their job to beat all the odds. 2. Considering 86 as a series Is much larger than this 23 episode anime has to offer, killing off most of the main characters 1/4 into the story kind of feels wrong. The anime follows Volumes 1-3, there are 11 total volumes, this was just the beginning.
Hey guys I just wanted to give some extra deets from the LN such as how the federacy reacted to the republic. So first the day catastrophe struck, the Republic founding festival. That years High-school valedictorian went on stage and protested the republics treatment of the 86, most laughed at him, some said nothing and some secretly agreed with him but said nothing, unable to speak up. Then the republic was destroyed, but the Alba citizens didn't repent their sins, they blamed others, believing themselves to be the victims till the end, the Republic citizens were slaughtered by the millions (I think there were 10mil alba living but after they were reduced to 1mil). Next the Federacy of Giad shows up with state of the art weaponry and begins pushing the legion out of Republic territory. The Alba welcomed them with applause but unfortunately for them the Federacy somehow knew of the persecutions. The Federacy led an 86 Rescue Operation so they saw the internment camps for themselves. Remember the war has only been going on for 10 years so alot of the federacy people had relatives that lived in the republic before the war, and then they come and find this. Safe to say they were NOT happy The operation commander would go on to tell the President and other high officers of the republic "if you hated color that much, you may as well have dyed your flag white". Things got better tho, the federacy discovered that some Alba was secretly keeping records of the 86 since this man had gone to school with many of them in the past. Unable to bear the guilt any longer he marched to the Frontline and was never seen again. Things did not end there tho, eventually the federacy found journals of inmates detailing the atrocities that had been committed. 86 would come forward with their own stories, videos were found of Republic soldiers crimes against the 86, they found documents of human experimentation and trafficking of infants, and finally they found a great number of skeletons buried beneath the camps and inside the fortress walls. After that there were comments saying that they should abandon the republic but that didn't happen. The federacy said "let those who know shame suffer from it until their dying day. And any pigs incapable of feeling shame don't even warrant attention of acknowledgement" I believe the number of surviving 86 was 10 thousand, I can't remember how many there was before the war but somewhere in the millions. Sorry if this was long. If I got anything wrong please correct me. Hope yall found this interesting!! As incredible as it was that they all lived last episode, I think it was really important for them to all survive. It is proof to Shin that even in impossible odds all hope is not lost and that he shouldn't give up. I just found your channel and binged this series (which I absolutely love) and it was fun watching these reactions for this series. Subscribed!

When reads the names of the dead members of the spearhead squad, she cant find shinei and the other 4s names. Because of that lena believes they are dead. "i wont forget" says lena 5 times, promising that she wont forget any of the 5 because no one else will remember their names except for her. When lena saluted to the spearheads in the end, everyone is trying to contain their laughter, except for Theo. If you remember, early in the series Theo was screaming at Lena about her not treating them like normal humans and not even asking for their real names.) Theo in the final scene is the only one to have a straight face out of respect for Lena. Theo started as Lena's biggest critic and ended up as Lena's biggest fan. I love the subtle character moments and not just character moments but also just the way the series is directed as a whole.
also the fact that theo is drawing in colour when before in part 1, he was drawing in black and white showing how his world view has become less "black and white".

Of course in the future arcs, not everything turns out so well. Next couple arcs are literally hell on earth, almost more horror then drama. Poor Annette in the next arc.

I can't really recommend anything for sure because it really depends on what you like in anime. I know you already reacted to grand blue and violet evergarden on patreon so I can cross them off the list of recommendation. I feel like Re:zero is a very unique experience and it feels very different from most anime especially the ones you watched. You already watched mushoko tensei which is for me is on the same level of re:zero in the isekai genre. I seriously can't say one is better than the other because they're both so different but so good at the same time.

For me, this anime in its entirety is a 10/10. I only watched season one and was unaware that it was getting a season two, so I thought that was the end. I am pleasantly surprised by season two. I can't say which one I liked better, and there is some small stuff I could definitely be nitpicky about, but overall, I love this anime so so much. It was the best telling of such a tragic tale with a happy ending I've ever seen.

Hi Teddy! I love your videos; you're one of the best reactors out there. Not only are your expressions sincere and entertaining, but the videos are well edited, too. I never feel like there's any drag or downtime, so I never skip through it. I'm always looking forward to that snap when I see you on my feed and always feel sad when I'm anticipating that second snap at the end. I've watched every single AoT episode, and many of Spy x Family, Kaguya, Jobless, One Punch...basically anything that I've seen myself. And yes, although that was all completely sincere, I do have an ulterior motive 😆 I hope you watch Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica if you haven't already. It was #3 on NHK's domestic poll for best anime of all time, and I'd argue it has an episode that's even more famous than AoT's 2x6 "Warrior", at least in Japan. If the algorithm picks it up, I'm sure it'll get a ton of views. I know I'm just one voice in a sea of many others, but this magical girl thriller is only 12 episodes, so if you need a tiny series, I highly recommend this one. Try not to Google too much, lest you be spoiled. I'm looking forward to your next series, whatever it turns out to be (assuming I've seen it). 😀
