Dake and Taylor wanted to try a new weight classes for similar and different reasons. The trial system so far has favored JB. Would you rather wrestle a bunch of different national champions all day only to be expected to beat a world medalist who has been resting all day? Or would you try to beef up like Dake and Taylor did and expect to wrestle someone in the finals who had to wrestle just as much as you did during the day. For Taylor it made way more sense for him to be at 86KG anyway considering his height and wrestling style that is so closely related to Sanderson. Dake on the other hand saw an arguably tougher opportunity and took the challenge. He'd weight in 2KG less than everyone else including Taylor and he still made it to the finals and won a match. Now that JB doesn't have his usual annual ticket to the team trial finals, you can bet that Dake will go back down to 74KG for the fair wrestling match between the two that we have never gotten before!! I also cannot wait to see Taylor go at it along with two Olympic gold medalist wins (Yazdani & Sharifov) under his belt. Dake isn't in his way this time.
They’ve wrestled when that wasn’t the case and they still lost. Excuses. They both moved up and guess what happened they both lost to j’den. I’m sure you have excuses for that as well.
@@greatstate58 I just seeing this. I am confused as to what you mean by, "they've wrestled when that wasn't the case and they still lost? Who specifically are you referring to at that point in time because back then Burroughs had wrestled Dake outside of the World Team Trial Finals. I am not making excuses for any of the wrestlers, I simply made predictions... all of them pretty much were correct. And J'den had nothing to do with what I said. I love all 4 of these guys BTW and we're very close to all of them getting Gold this year. I am really proud of them all
Taylors style is perfect for Dake. Taylor is an offensive machine. Dake is a great defensive wrestler. For Taylor to really beat Dake he will need to change his style approach. So far he cant make the adjustments to beat Dake.
True. But i do think this is a more natural weight class for Taylor then Dake. In the long term i think moving up will pay off for Taylor. It just will take a bit more time.
Dylan Brown, I think they’re just his own color of his own Adidas Mat Wizards(not sure which version though). And he probably had them specifically made to be white and red this tourney to match the singlet I’m assuming. But they look just like the Adidas DT Mat Wizards to me. Maybe Mat Wizard 2 or 3 version being this was in 2016. Just a guess though. But they definitely look like Mat Wizards. I’m still rolling Aisic Agressor II, or old school Gables if I have the choice though lol! I’ve tried both, but nothing compares still to Aisics in my opinion. Much better grip, overall better fit(unless wider feet), and have always lasted much longer than anything Nike or Adidas. Crazy too, I still have a pair of Aisics with maybe one small tear, but nothing serious and well over 10+ years of Freestyle, High School, & Collegiate wrestling @ NC State done in them. A lot of which used during hard practices, even 2 full seasons in HS until I decided to get some others! I could still wear them to practice today as a Coach if I wanted. This was back when the Aisics weren’t outsourced to Vietnam probably. But still, I’ll take the Aisics just about any style(lol maybe even Mat Flex’s) over anything Nike! I know that much, those things suck out of China and they never last! I do like these Adidas May Wizards that DT is rocking here though!
+iha asc Dake did not have a height advantage against David Taylor....but Dake is undefeated v David Taylor. So the value of your hypothetical premise has minimal implications if any
Watching Taylor since high school all of us coaches wonder why he always shut down against Dake. Taylor was faster and much more technical. He just never wrestled Dake with the same intensity he wrestled everyone else with.
It seems like dake is just a bad matchup for Taylor. Their skill level now is damn near the same in my opinion. Taylor can just pour it on and dominate these matches with offense and cardio but dake is just barely better.
I don't think they're at the same level. Dake executes some greco/upper body throws along with leg attacks which keeps matches unpredictable, exciting and is true free-style in my opinion. Taylor just attacks the legs like most wrestler which is conservative and effective but boring and a closed up style of wrestling. More of a folk style safe wrestling.
Lol yes to keep it relevant to fans that don't like wrestling to begin with we should make wrestlers do other things aside from trying to win wrestling matches. Gtfoh. Wrestling isn't going anywhere and there is no "we".
I'm not so sure of that. The reason I say this is because Dake is clearly stronger then Taylor and Cox was man handling Dake. Wrestling isn't soley based on strength but more so technique. I believe Cox would be too much for Taylor.
Don't blame him. At 74kg he goes through the challenge tournament, outwrestles JB in their first match and JB still got awarded a phantom 4 points. There is a message in that: JB is our man.
Is it just me, or does the title "Kid Dynamite wrestles the Magic Man" sound more like either a failed comic book from the 1970s or a gay porn video from the 1980s?
this is the same person that made the comment about the fargo finals but i dont have a score i just found out on dakes instagram and i cant find any video +Jules Shin
