Bless you sir, my 88 celebrity has been a daily driver for me for 4 years now and it is a pain finding videos or guides to do things. I am glad someone is keeping a digital record of what to do with these things even if they are all but extinct
@@nicholasfurini4258 Thanks , I'm really glad I could help out in some way I'm probably about the only one that does videos on these cars and some repair videos on these cars cause you really don't see them much anymore and very hard to find help and info on them . If you have Facebook there's groups for just of these cars and guys like me on there that can help you as well . 1 is called GM A-Body Oddballs and another one is GM FWD Society , and one group is just for the engine itself called 60 Degree V6 Group. Theres also a group just for Chevy Celebritys
Excellent. My dash lights are real dim unless it's completely dark out. I've always wanted to check the bulbs, but dashboard assemblies are a daunting task to tackle, thanks. P.S. Is it common for Celeb dashlights to run dim?
Yeah just age and over time , especially if it was a spoker car but I've had more than a couple chevy celebritys and they all have dim lights for dash lights so I upgraded my eurosport to LEDs and that video is on my channel
I have a 91 Pontiac 6000, same car, but it has idiot lights instead of the individual gauges. Do you know if the clusters are interchangeable, or did the Celebrity go to idiot lights in 91 also?
Mine originally came with idiot lights but I actually change the cluster to gauges and then change the sensor so it would work and the only sensor I changed was the temperature sensor and everything works as it should . It depended on what package you got when the car was orderd way back when is what the car has cause mines a eurosport but yet it don't have everything a EUROSPORT should have so thats kinda what I've been doin to upgrade it and make it better . Chevy celebrities were only made from 82-90 and after that the Chevy lumina took over
Also you might be lucky and find the bill sheet that the car came with from the factory where they write down every single detail about the car that tells you what it has mine has it it was under the back seat.
I swapped my 87 eurosport that's on my channel from dummy lights to gauges . You will need a cluster from 87-90 if you have one that's in those years if not it would need to be the older style 82-86 You'll need to change your temp sensor for the gauge that's on the back of the block for the gauge to work cause the sensor is for a dummy light . I did all this and mine works great
