Here on this Channel We Save Vehicles that's been Abandon and sitting for years that was headed to be Crushed . Back to Running and Driven and on the Road once Again!!
You’re a great mechanic I wish you were in my neck of the woods I have a 2.8 ext cab 92 I can’t figure out the air in fuel it runs pretty good but I think it has so much more to offer
I appreciate that , now yours I'm assuming is 82-85 Carbureted 2.8 ? , yeah the factory carbs there is only 1 set screw and apparently that 1 does air and fuel together and supposedly isn't supposed to be touched but I have on mine to make it run a bit better but it still runs way to rich so the plan is to swap to a Edelbrock Dual Plane Intake and throw a Holley 4 Barrel 390cfm on it and I can actually tune it and get it to run alot better and a bit more peppy getting it down the track . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YXqxFCqkMGg.htmlsi=7RbCiODofKYkFlkx
The Exhaust was like this when I got it but it's just cherry bomb glasspacks I believe is what they seem to look like under it . But I hate the raspy or clappy sound so it Will be getting flowmasters put on it eventually
@@brad11344 yup That would be the knock off cherry bomb Glass packs that are on it since i boughtit . But It's gonna be getting flowmaster 40 Series put on it
@@blackramcharger963 yeah I sure wish they would let go of this car and let me take it home and give it all that it needs . It's just a shame letting it Rot away like this in the weather in very hot sun&Heat with no dash shade or anything to protect the car Been sitting for a long time and would need ao much to get it back again especially like the fuel system I know is not any good and parts are getting more rare to get too for these cars
I have this same issue with my cavalier, I lost my belt, replaced it. Still didn’t start. After trying to start it multiple times I found gas coming all the way out of the exhaust. Found that my fuel pressure regulator was out. Replaced it and it still won’t start. Should I bleed my fuel rail? I’m sure it’s air locked to hell. Not sure what to do next.
I just got a 87 celebrity with about 150k miles. It would die when it was hot and wouldn’t restart till cold down. Crank position sensor. Now it stalls when you come to a stop. Revs high when restarting. No codes. Even when sensors removed and still runs. ECM? Thoughts
That sounds like could be a bad IAC Valve that is causing the high idle and stalling out . They can get gummed up and sticky with carbon or just worn out and needs replaced it's not hard at all
@@camwiens7110 Yes! But it has been parked because of some little things here and that that it needs and I've not gotten the chance yet to get back on it . But very soon hopefully will be
@@jbslittleshop2897 Hahah let me get that intake-Carb Swapped and exhaust fixed then will see what she'll do at the track again 😏🤣 and hopefully no more spinning
rock auto has a company in California that totally rebuilds the spider injector for 150 bucks give you o rings for feed and return lines looks like brand new best deal around for this pos injector 92-95
@@valkimbrough It's a joke lol , but I've used Lucas for a long time and had engine's that had a knock back to quiet u couldn't even tell and drove them for alot longer and or one's that was worn out high milage . Same goes for their product for transmissions one's that wouldn't even move or barely moved and or slipped badly back on the Road
HI, where i can buy the exact 13.2 galllons on your video? I know you bought the 20 Gallons, I am looking for part number or where to buy the 13.2. Sorrry for my english, i am from Puerto Rico, hope you understand.
@@moviebest08 they sell the 13 gallon and 20 at any parts store for these trucks . But where I got my fuel tank was from rockauto and they sell both off of there too .
Bad Misfire and very random at times , cutting up under acceleration or heavy load especially and starting and dieing or not wanting to run at all . It had alot problems at one time and the misfiring at the end of the video I fixed with new plugs and wires Theres a updated video to this blazer I'll leave the link to it i drove it home 300 miles . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zHso3pg2iN0.htmlsi=z-KSZIefLjUpxYmV
I have a 97 my obd2 does not have power can’t read the codes I have to do the ol 3 key turns and read the o2 code , I wish I could use my scanner, have you seen this ? Love the video keep up the great work and wisdom God bless you.
@@jamesdodson9417 that's odd you can't use the scanner to get the codes , sounds like lost communication with the computer or something along those lines . I've had that happen before but on a OBD1 vehicle , couldn't read codes but had the light on and ended up being a bad ECM on it
Driving, heard a click, looked my oil pressure gauge dropped out..oil is full but when I removed this switch; oil wasnt leaking out the switch hole. Dog didnt get his hike
@@Lupita_Madera77 Thanks , and yeah it really gets alot looks and attention at Gas stations or car Meets/Shows . Always the Famous questions is that a v8 or 4.3 😆 nope
My 94 just all of a sudden started running rich missing I parked it now won't start it starts for a few seconds if a floor it but floods out could it be a tempature sensor or spider leaking
@@davejones1064 Yeah Very common its unreal for these . You coukd take the top sensor on top of the intake off that has 2 torx head bolts and look inside with a flash light and see if its leaking inside the intake or not . The Fuel pressure Regular can fail too and leak and u can just replace that piece if I'm not mistaken still
@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 thanks for the response yeah I did that but couldn't really tell guess I'll unplug the temp sensor and see If theres any difference if not I'll pull the intake and see if theres any leaks and replace the fuel regulator
Bless you sir, my 88 celebrity has been a daily driver for me for 4 years now and it is a pain finding videos or guides to do things. I am glad someone is keeping a digital record of what to do with these things even if they are all but extinct
@@nicholasfurini4258 Thanks , I'm really glad I could help out in some way I'm probably about the only one that does videos on these cars and some repair videos on these cars cause you really don't see them much anymore and very hard to find help and info on them . If you have Facebook there's groups for just of these cars and guys like me on there that can help you as well . 1 is called GM A-Body Oddballs and another one is GM FWD Society , and one group is just for the engine itself called 60 Degree V6 Group. Theres also a group just for Chevy Celebritys
My parents bought a brand new maroon Chevy Celebrity 2.8 liter V6. I miss that car. As a teenager I drove it to high school. That trunk lid was the perfect seat for my best friend and I many late nights just hanging out in high school enjoying our neighborhood around 1986 - 1988.
Getting better! If you convert that to 1/4 mile, you would be around 18.5 wich is a little quicker than my '83 2.8 auto firebird ran! Interested to hear it with an x-pipe!
Heck yeah I'm Slowly Getting There. It's much lighter in weight now too with the 4-Speed cause that automatic 700r4 was very heavy and crossmember was heavier too than what I'm using now , I need to ditch some things before maken more passes especially the Rubber Bed Mat that is very thick rubber and heavy it takes a challenge to remove it and put it back . I definitely should weigh some things I'm removing to get a idea too , my tool box is very light u can hold it with one hand but I think the less that's on the truck to get the best time would be best .
Yeah that X-Pipe I'm very interested in how that's gonna change some things it's very raspy at higher RPMs and not deep toned like my single in single out flowmaster exhaust I had before. It's around 3,800-4,500 RPMs is where it starts to sound like crap so that's gotta get fixed. I definitely don't wanna keep beating on it so hard because just how common these early 2.8s had weak Cranks , Bearings , Rods and Oiling issues. A 3.4 from a 93-95 camaro would be the best Idea for the truck but I haven't found one yet
I wonder if that is causing my p507 code. I dont have gas leaking out but I smell a hint of fuel around the area. I checked every common issue for the p507 high idle code and everything seems fine.
@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 if it's not that then I don't know what it is. This cavy is very frustrating. I can't find a vacuum leak. I used smoke to test brake booster, that is fine. The throttle body doesn't have a lot of carbon buildup. The iac sensor is fine, I sprayed carb cleaner around intake and injector seals no change in rpms.
@@brianschumacher8956 Could be a leaky injector too or O'Ring that's starting to seap a little fuel but hard to see with them so far into the head . Not to sure on that tho sence you sprayed around the injectors
@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 it is possible. I was in a hurry when I did it. There are some leaves and junk around the injectors. I'm going clean all that out of the way and try again. Then I will vacuum test regulator.
Yeah I would try that again and most definitely you don't want leaves or anything like that in there that could catch fire anything like that in the engine bay should be cleaned out
Could a bad coolant sensor cause battery drain? I've had a bad sensor code for ages and my battery won't stop dying despite the batteries and alternator being brand new
No that doesn't have anything to do with battery not holding charge as the vehicle sits over night! Theres something like it could be a Cig lighter charger or anything aftermarket that was added . Or like a radio or even the factory radios are bad... in the jeeps to mess up and draw power as it sits over night and kill the battery
9 years on my V8 swap s10 (life happened). only advice I have is do it all while its apart. I just did a tank swap.....should've did it when the box and cab were off. replace everything you can while it is off. LOL
Yeah its just one of those things that alot of the times it has to go in sorta of sequence and once you get involved in the famous Well..... While I'm Here I Might as well do A, B, C and D . It's hard to stop or be like okay I really have to stop here it's Far enough or going over budget and taken more time than you wanted or thought. But I'll say It's better than back tracking that's one big thing I don't like doing ever and having to rip Something back into pieces to do something again no way lol
@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 New tank and sending unit went in this weekend. Still wont read fuel level lmao I 100% agree. I wish i would've slowed down, or spent the extra $100. Cause at the point I am at now I say "I spent this much whats another $100" LOL
YOU EVER HAVE REGRET AND WISHED YOU KEPT A VEHICLE? THIS WAS MY HIGHSCHOOL GRADUATION GIFT TO MYSELF IN 87. I HAD IT IN STORAGE DURING THE GULF WAR AND LEFT IT WITH THEN. HE SOLD IT 1996 AND IT BREAKES MY HEART TO THIS DAY.

@@inhisgrip7172 awesome another one saved! Yeah I've done alot to this one above but there's more videos of the car and other chevy celebrity's vid's on my channel I've either owned or worked on but also I'll say there's a fourm groups of guys like me on Facebook that has these cars and others like it that can help you on things if you ever need it . There's like 4 that I'm in , 1 is called FWD GM Society and the other is a Chevy Celebrity Fourm and GM Oddball Group and some others
Hi I have an 04 cavalier and I’m wondering if a bad crank sensor will cause a no start. When I try turning on my car, all I hear is the starter turning and nothing else. Starter is brand new.
@@rudeone760 okay so if it turns over then it's down to a few things compression , fuel and or spark that's causing it to not run . Start with fuel pressure I'd check that first and if that's good then it could be no spark which could be the ICM or Coil Pack or the Crank sensor that's bad
