to a slight degree but not completely since that gasket around the charger port isn't a heavy duty one, probably just for dust/debris and not water. The cover would help prevent water from getting in, without it, should still be splash proof but wouldn't trust dunking it in water.

I don't have the other phone to interchange parts to test, but even if they are the same or similar contacts and connectors, doesn't always mean they would work. Sometimes there are software conflicts. But it's possible it may work as well but yeah I don't have a way of testing it.

Yep, just the overall score doesn't explain overall. Each section adds up to the score so some sections drag it down. For example replacement parts aren't available on the market whereas iphone ones are etc. Also the battery on this phone in conjunction with the midframe would probably make replacing the battery not doable by most. However I definitely would prefer to take this phone apart for repairs than iPhones. That's for sure.
