So great to see the EL footage in Huntington. Go to that spot today and you'd never know any of that was there. I've seen your guys' pictures of some of these trains in the past, so it's great to see them in motion. Big thanks for converting and sharing these.
Thanks for the kind comments. I appreciate that. I’m glad you enjoyed them. I will be posting a couple 8mm with sound soon. Unfortunately no sound on the EL though. Thanks again
My late friend Gene Drabenstot often worked WR "tower", actually a one story building, that guarded the N&W crossing there in Huntington. He also owned the "Nick's Kitchen" restaurant. Photos of all the towers and block stations Gene worked at still adorn the walls.
Oh I bet I've talked to him before. Used to hang out at Huntington all the way to the way to the end of the EL. Wow he owned Nicks Kitchen. I love that place. I still eat there. Sorry he's not with us anymore.
@@NELSONRRVIDS His daughter Jean owns it now. He had quite afew Railfan friends. I remember him driving his Caddy Eldorado down US 224, Elvis blaring on his cassette player, going to a local fast food stop to treat myself and a buddy to lunch! Those are the times you never forget.
Thanks for the nice comments. Yes I would kill to have had sound back then. We did later fo to 8mm sound. I will be posting some with sound soon. Sorry the quality is sub par but I just want to put it out there for people to see. Thanks again
