Love running SW on 8s! She flew with my modified prop stock motor and Firma 160 esc. But then I went for a little longer of a speed pass one day and burnt up the motor.

Just picked one up on sale, $90 off labor day weekend! Had to grease cable better than what it came with. Electronics got hot when I opened the hatch steam came out. No electronic burn, just steam. Don't like it, gonna do some mods that you've done. Drill open the esc fittings, bigger water lines, gonna add a pickup and do dual water cooling for the esc. my goal is to keep the stock ESC and motor and get it into the mid-50s stock.

I thought for certain that round ear would run cooler, wish I could answer this question? Maybe the x450 is more efficient and runs the boat looser than the 4614 which ran rather wet? Idk

That’s AWSOME Big B, it sounds great, that’s a speed run spot boat for sure 👍 If that flex cable is one I sent you I’m pretty sure it came from OSE, I never get good quality flex cables from Amazon or eBay, they always seem out of alignment. It might have come from zip kits, I just know I don’t have any flex cables in my amazon purchase history. The last two videos have bean great, very informative. BGFL

That’s some good stuff big B good to see you figuring that boat out, that’s a fun mono hull, never wanted to go down this road with you but if you’re noticing the further you get away from the Spektrum system, the more opportunities you’ll have I’m not anti-Spektrum but there are way better alternatives out there just saying. It’s great starter stuff but there are lighter and better alternatives. Keep up the great work enjoy all your videos and content. I can see the 💡💡your passion for the hobby is awesome.😎

I just did the same thing I have the castle Hydra x with a 4082 12:50 KV leopard with a 48 mm prop temps barely broke a hundred was absolutely fantastic fun yesterday for my V2

My sonic wake with 5 runs on it from brand new melted the liner on the driveshaft. I greased it after every run. So disappointed but I love the boat.

The motor to stuffing tube alignment may be off, you'll need to shim the stuffing tube to ensure perfect alignment

If you had $400 to spend on a boat and just cared about speed and handling, what would you recommend? This boat? I'm used to about 60mph boats, so want to kinda stay in that range. Thanks for any recommendations. I'm the one that asked awhile back for you to do a 4s mini dom video. I never pulled the trigger on it though.

i want to buy this and run it stock as I'm new to boats (not new to RC) but this heat is worrying me. I have serious fan setups in my RC cars (Arrma Infraction 6s if you know what this is) for speed runs, but I guess no one does this with boats?

Props control the temperature on boats, larger diameter or higher pitch increases temperature, there's a fine line when choosing the right prop for a boat

Why did you make this video. Now i need to touch my V2, shes lonely on the shelf! Also noticed something with my 2 temp guns. the laser dot seems only be to accurate when your far enough away from the object. When your as close as we are for reading the esc and motor its reading like an inch lower than the laser dot.

@@IRONCLADRC there will be probably a recommended distance to take a reading where the sensor and laser dot are aligned, then if you know that it should be accurate every time in theory.

@@IRONCLADRC its just that offset of the laser and the reading eye. you can see one shoots out higher than the other so if you like an inch away from something it cant read what your looking at. it reads in front of the glass eye. So when you saw the high temps on the esc first check i think you were reading the bullet connectors not the esc for a split second. Maybe yours is different but that is how mine is. once your like 6 inches away or so i think its really at the laser then.
