The Lights are from "Integy". Check out their site for many light bar options. Yes, the light bars on the front bumper and rear are a custom fit.

very sick Maxx. I just became the owner of the green 8s xmaxx version. This truck is so fun. I had some custom lighting done. I have green leds that shine up under the body so it glows. I did a couple jumps with it and my headlight bar fell off and my taillight bar came apart. I need more beefier lighting. I really like your side lights. people sure can customize these things. I'm just learning about these trucks. why add a new motor and esc? This truck has gobs of power already. theres tons of xmaxx owners on youtube, I just wish I knew a bunch of you guys to go bashing with etc. put some led strips shining upwards next to your battery holders to make that awesome paint scheme come to life. way easier to see at night. keep up the awesome work and keep the videos coming.

Nite Train The New ESC and castle motor is an enormous upgrade to the stock motor. Believe me when I tell you the difference is not only in performance but in size, the castle motor is a full 50 to 60 percent larger than stock Traxxas motor. I know people local to me that have burnt out there stock ESC/motor on 8S, that will never happen with this castle motor and ESC combination. This particular motor is rated for 12S. 😁

Scott I'm perplexed about Esc's in general. When one changes the original Esc in any car do you have to buy a new Receiver & Transmitter as well?

Smokey Bandit when you replace the electronic speed control it is not necessary to replace the transmitter/receiver combination. The ESC (for the most part) receive signal from the receiver, that signal is fairly universal and is used in most receivers, so any transmitter/receiver combination should work fine. The reason I'm staying with the Traxxas system for now is because of the Traxxas link Bluetooth app that's available on your smart phone or tablet.

Scott, I'm told you can use ammo boxes to store lipos in In case something should happen. Do you keep your batteries inside your home or in an unheated garage? I would prefer inside just so their not freezing outside. There is no basement where I live. I've seen the Bat box vids for Lipo keeping to. Mine are always in their Lipo fire proof bags. Not sure how trustworthy these big 4s packs are. Thanks

Nite Train you should check out my RU-vid video on the “Bat Safe”. Lipo fires are no joke, these batteries should be well-maintained and stored at half charge. The big problem you have with lipo batteries is when you’re charging them, if they’re damaged, shorted out, they can explode. That’s why I use the “Bat Safe” to charge all my lipo batteries! 😁

The sway bar works in conjunction with the bottom A arms, the're made to fit together, however you can modify the stock A arms to work with the sway bar if your so inclined.

So with a new Esc and a Castle motor upgrade, How do you even keep these Xmaxx monsters under control? These stock motors make the truck perform like hell. Lol. Mine is always flipping even in reverse.

Nite Train For me it’s not just about power, it’s about performance, longevity, and how hard the motor is actually working. If you find your car is constantly doing wheelies in both directions you may want to change your gearing to something that is going to provide more low-end torque instead of top end speed. 😁

Sweet ride Scott. Labor of love for sure. I would love to do this but cannot justify spending $900.00 just to replace most of it with another $900.00. That does not include the couple hundreds more on batteries, wheels, Servo, Esc. Help me justify spending the greenbacks so I can get one. Thanks.

Smokey Bandit as I said this is a labor of love that has subtly slipped into the realm of obsession. The truck itself was 900, along with four 5000 mA Traxxas 3s batteries and an ID charger for another 300. Now you add four new 4s batteries and a venom quad charger for another $500. Then you add all the hot racing aluminum upgrade parts (many of which you can't see) and you're adding another $1200. Now add in the Intengy parts including the lights and shocks, you're adding another $500. Now for the parts that aren't in this video but will be in the next you have to add the new mad Max superwide Chevron tires and adapters that's $200 and last but certainly not least the new Castle 2028 motor, Hobbywing BL5 ESC and Kershaw Designs motor mount along with 48 tooth pinion, that's another $500... yeah we slipped into the realm of obsession.

Haven't had any issues with the ESC, however I do plan to upgrade to a new castle 2028 motor and equivalent 1/5 scale Hobbywing BL5 ESC sometime this month... :)

They are much better then the stock shock. Far less "bouncy" then the originals, along with the fact that the shafts are twice the size of the Traxxas shocks and along with the "piggy back" reservoirs that make for much better performance over all.
