Interesting battery placement. How would you get a jump or replace the battery? Would you have to remove your front bumper? I would assume taking weight off of the front of the engine would be best.

Hi nick I just wanted to mention as ask for your help because I used the volt #’s and deadtime #’s to adjust on hondata when I added my New RDX injectors from hybridracing and change size to 410cc. The problem seems to be it feels like the car is not getting the correct amount of fuel but less then it should. So what I ended up doing is just change the size to 410cc and the car feels (Way) better. I do have only an AEM fuel pump. Do you think if I use your settings again and maybe change the %fuel trim from maybe 0, to 5% or 10% the car would work better? Please help. Because I did use your settings and that it would be better but actually was better when I removed them. I have the same a 07 civic si with a k20z3.

@BulliKid
@BulliKid 3 года назад
Nick! Few questions. I heard you shouldn’t just change voltages like that and you should stick with factory voltage. True or false? Also I been tuning my 8th gen r18 on maf and in cold weather I have stft dialed in. So long term is like +/- 1% Recently with warm weather I see -5% LTFT. Is this normal. Someone told me with hot weather it will adding fuel not subtracting it. Lmk what your opinions are. Thank you!!!
@tuningbynick
@tuningbynick 3 года назад
Changing the voltage break points is totally fine as long as its done properly and you are also changing the deadtimes - Personally i think its best to have a breakpoint at 14v because a properly running car spends most of its life running at basically 14v. Your -5% ST is working properly - A very simple way to put it is - as weather gets warmer the air is not as dense, therefore the engine does not need as much fuel, which presents as running a bit richer therefore ECU pulls -5% trim
@BulliKid
@BulliKid 3 года назад
@@tuningbynick thank you! What would be the optimal temp to tune the fuel trims too? In your opinion does having fuel trims closer to zero give you more throttle response and smoother driving? Or is that just in my head.
@tuningbynick
@tuningbynick 3 года назад
In theory, optimal weather temp for tuning would be the temp that you do the most amount of driving in. In practice - In my opinion, having the ECU pull -5% from the tune is better then adding +5% - But realistically, you cant feel 5% - What you would more likely be feeling is the change in seasons - Simply put - Cars perform better in cooler weather
@BulliKid
@BulliKid 3 года назад
@@tuningbynick thanks. So if air density changes I would assume Afr in wot would change on a tune in hot vs cold weather correct. So if you tune 12.5 afr cold that would run richer in the hot correct. ?
@tuningbynick
@tuningbynick 3 года назад
In a perfect world it would stay the same. But yes, there are a lot of other variables that affect things in the real so yes, as weather warms up you will see richer AFs compared to what you see in colder weather

Hey nick, just a quick question is it really necessary to port your rbc to go with the 72mm tb?
@tuningbynick
@tuningbynick 3 года назад
Technically you don’t have to. It will still bolt up. But you wont get the benefits if the RBC isn’t port matched.
@freddyrosenberg9288
@freddyrosenberg9288 3 года назад
Yes, otherwise your TB is effectively the size of the plenum opening. No point in putting a larger TB if the plenum opening remains stock.

Did u fix it?
@nicolasdujardin5691
@nicolasdujardin5691 Год назад
Check if you dont have a vacuum leak... I've had the exact same problem om my k20A swapped '05 em2... Fiddled with the TB stop, idle settings in doctronic, bunch of other things... Than finally i sprayed brake cleaner all over my intakemanifold/tb, and all of a sudden the revs changed. So i removed the TB (70mm Tegiwa), and there was a pinsized hole in the TB gasket to the manifold! You couldn't even see it with the naked eye, i happend to see it while i was pulling and twisting the gasket, that the hole became a bit bigger and i could see it. Changed the gasket, now revs fine at 1100 rpm (it's a fully built N/A high comp engine, 274 WHP) , and doesnt surge anymore either ... Is yours idling steady, or is it surging on decel?

You should always de-pin and change the connector properly. Failing that soldering would be the only other acceptable solution. Butt connectors don't belong anywhere on a car.
@tuningbynick
@tuningbynick 3 года назад
These are properly crimped with a crimping tool. Basically every wire to terminal connection on the car comes from the factory as a crimp. These connections are as good as any of the oem connections and will 100% stand the test of time.
@Wheemer
@Wheemer 3 года назад
@@tuningbynick I wouldn't want that on my car. There's the right way and then there are shortcuts. You should get some of those joiners with the solder already in them so a heat gun is all that's needed.
