Just FYI- level 4 is super reading focused, but very writing light. My 11 year old just started it, and it’s honestly not challenging for her at all. I added IEW structure & style to add some challenge. She’s been going through 2 lessons a day from level 4. I already ordered level 5 because I know she will blow through this (as she did level 3- she finished it in about 3-4 months) I also got the creative writing journals for my girls for fun writing. 👌🏻
We are doing the Marine Biology unit as well, but I plan to add a few things to it. We are planning four science units this year. Marine Biology, Mammals, Space and Energy.
Brooke R. A whole bunch of things actually. We are going to study ocean pollution and the pacific garbage patch and the impact on the oceans, ocean mythology, including reading Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, she will do a research project on a topic of her choosing related to Maine Biology or Oceans, we also plan to do some dissections, and hopefully visit Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and hopefully some tide pools to see what creatures live there. I will also add in some documentaries and additional books as well.
My son is going into 8th grade and we just finished Ch A! We also have decided not to continue with CC. I had the exact same feeling about his grammar! I know he knows it but did not do well on the Good&Beautiful placement test because it’s not what we had focused on this year. He will be started in level 6 with Good & Beautiful and I am so excited! Thank you for your videos!!!❤️
I hope you have a great year with TGATB! My girls and I are so pumped up for the change in curriculum we are starting school in July.🙂 Thank you for watching!
I have an 8th grade too! We’re headed into our 5th year also, just finished CC Challenge A. So much in common in only a few minutes. Happy homeschooling!
