@@roniaaime2976 This is a myth. If he's on PEDs which he probably is then sure but if not then lifting heavy weight has not been shown to stunt growth unless you injure yourself. I can link a meta analysis but you probably won't be able to read more than the abstract if you don't have institutional access.
Yall need to appreciate this, it's extremely impressive. He has good form so his back will stay completely fine. And no, lifting weights will not stunt your growth 🤦♂️
The kid had great form, but it was too high on his shoulders. It was on his neck on his vertebrae, and you should not be squatting with it on your vertebrae that could paralyze you. He should have it on a high shelf or low shelf across his shoulders.
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share some good news with you all. Let's just put it this way, the Ten Commandments are called the Moral Law. Ask yourself this. How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name in vein? Have you ever hated someone or ever looked with lust? This is for you to judge yourself, but chances are that you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, fornicating, adulterer at heart and you HAVE to face God on judgement day. Now ask yourself this. If God judges you on judgement day by these Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Of course you'll be guilty because we've all done these things. The truth is that none of us are good people and we NESD God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn from our sins and let Him truly be our Lord continually. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. We must trust alone in Him to save us. In just a moment of time you can pass from death to life. Jesus said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again." That is how we enter heaven. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!!!!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that none is good, no not one. We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!!! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it!!! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him!!! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️The true joy of Christ dwells in me! Does it in you? I know where I'm going when I die! Do you? I have an ETERNAL victory! Do you? I have more joy than ever because of what Christ has done. I have been down both roads. The road of the wicked and the road of Christ. Christ is way better and my cup runneth over with true of and salvation. If you do not know the One true God and are not sure of your salvation, I promise He will never fail you. Turn to Him in repentance and faith. Repent means to confess and forsake your sins, never turning back to them. I tried changing on my own but I couldn't. It took the power of Christ on the inside of me to do it for me. He will give you a new and clean heart with new and clean desires and you shall be born again. A new creation in Christ Jesus!!!!! Hallelujah!!! Jesus said in order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again!!!!! Thank you Lord Jesus!!!!!!!!!✝️
@idontknowhatocallmyself it's not though. When you start off young your body cannot handle it. That's like saying it's a myth you can manipulate the way vines grow.....
@@basicallyblaster4840 he's probably 13, BARELY a teenager. When you build muscle mass before your body is ready it send hormones out of wack. And even if he does gain some muscle, it's nothing compared to what a 17 year old could gain, especially the definition and bulk of muscle. It just won't work unless you have 1% genes
"Middle school weight room" and naturally "Not 1 coach, in sight" which is the first person that should be "spotting" a kid at school on an untried 500lb lift. 🙄
@@ChrisG1392 And he didn’t even go below parallel lmfao So much for being a tough guy squatting 500 lbs huh I see guys on my team half squatting 3 plates then posting it on Instagram or snap saying they squatted it
No matter the weight we had our back and side spotter no coach needed. He had a wide stance so the depth was deep enough. No fake plates all steel besides the 2 bumper plated and the added 5s as well.
it’s incredible to me how many people in the comments don’t understand that lifting this heavy at a young age won’t do anything bad to your body as long as you do it correctly and in a safe manner
@@Teddy-pi4su if you have never lifted something heavy or it’s the first time you lift something very heavy. The symptoms of an inguinal hernia These include a swelling in the groin and pain after lifting a heavy object or from bending forward. You may experience a heavy feeling in your groin or scrotum (men) or abdominal discomfort.
@@imsorrythankyouplease7613 it is partly true, if you are young and you lift this heavy with improper form it can stunt your growth, but his form was pretty decent and i’m guessing he had some sort of supervision
@@justchillin7443 sure it can fracture growth plates which stuns growth, but I believe that jumping or playing football is more likely to cause a fracture.
He has solid form, and he has a bunch of spotters + safety bars, this is completely safe even for an 8th grader, especially because he knows the weight he can handle and doesn't go outside his reach. I'm not calling you a hater, you're just simply oblivious because you most likely don't lift.
@@vinay3674 bro stop hating you only live once you supposed to die in something you like if I like suffering I know I can die by a shark ripping my body in half or me drowning but at least I died doing what I like to do than dying by a car or getting shot and etc
Idk whether im looking at this wrong but it doesn’t look like 500lb. It looks like 4 25s, 1 45 and 1 5 on each side which is 300lb total sides and with the bar weight it makes 345 even if he had a heavier bar i highly doubt that the bar weighs 200lb
Your looking at it wrong it’s 5 45lbs the one in the middle is just rubber that’s why it’s bigger it’s used for Olympic lifting and then the 5 at the end so yes if it’s not fake weights than he totally got 500lbs
I doubt that this is real or that the weights are real. If so then damn. This kid’s an extremely hard worker and he is admirable but I worry for his health. This could either workout very well for him or just flat out horribly.
It was half a rep. I doubt he could do 1 full rep at 400. His max is likely somewhere in the 300s which is still very impressive but several orders of magnitude away from 500
@@jonathanluis4966 the thinner plates. Cause unless that big black weight are like 70lb each then there's no way those thinner plates are 45s. Also they just look like 25s
Don’t think that was 500lb due to the fact his shoes he squatting in didn’t give in to much even tho there are running shoes and the re rack is not a 500lb re rack sounded to light
Spinal compression isn’t dangerous our spine compress naturally what u should do is worry about ur growth plate plus after a while it naturally decompresses
He will likely get some injury eventually but so does everyone who does any sport. He's not more likely to get a debilitating I jury than any other athlete. in actuality power lifting with decent form might help prevent shit like slipped disks.
@@kevinkanzler495 but you can’t injured as bad as you could in weightlifting then you could as something like basketball this kid is in a way bigger risk then if he was doing literally anything else.
@@brodysoflyrodriguez This is untrue. Basketball and other various sports have a much much higher injury risk than weightlifting statistically speaking.
It’s not. 500 at 13-14 would be the most insane genetics. This kid is in the middle of puberty and still hasn’t fully grown. The record at my school is 620 set by a senior a few years back
Unless a real accident happened to make you slip up than thats a you problem, shouldn’t have any trouble if you can keep a rock solid form no matter the age and there’s zero scientific evidence backing heavy lifting being a cause of stunted growth so you’re just short
@@Dipyourhead44 i think he was making a comparison, saying he did similar things at a similar age, not literally saying the person on the video was him

People act like the only thing stopping them from doing this is "safety concerns" when in reality they couldn't do this in 10 years if they tried. There is nothing inherently dangerous about powerlifting. Your body is stronger than you think.
